Chapter 19 - Contracts (1)

Yuria stared at Tezariah weirdly. Usually from TV shows and animations, contracts with demons are done by desperate people or just straight up psychopaths. A part of her was curious for the reason Tezariah was going to make contracts.

As for the reason, Tezariah's latest skill [Soul of Heaven and Hell] was strong but he needed it to stronger. Thus he decided to make contracts with both an angel and a demon to make the skill stronger. Although the two powers would conflict, he was confident enough to suppress both of them.

Tezariah wanted to make a contract with an angel as it was more complicated. He drew a magic circle using mana powder and mercury. He also added rock salt which was blessed with holy magic. Lastly, he placed an offering in the middle.

He almost brought out a flame but then he saw Yuria and an idea struck him. He approached Yuria and asked permission to use her fire. Although she didn't know how to summon fire, Tezariah could draw it out. Slowly a warm feeling arose from Yuria that moved from his chest to her hand. A small ember started to form at the tip of her fingers.

Yuria nearly jumped out of excitement but calmed herself under Tezariah's instruction. Tezariah on the other hand used mana to slowly embrace the ember. The ember seemingly to know what Tezariah was doing started to resist. It wiggled and burned the mana Tezariah was using. Yuria began to concentrate and started to calm it.

After a nerve-wracking ten minutes, he finally managed to get a small piece of the ember. Yuria immediately sat from exhaustion. Tezariah then used the ember to light both the offering and the magic circle and began chanting. A strong wave holiness started to permeate in the area. A bright flash appeared and...

"Angel Ramzan, at your service." A handsome scholarly angel appeared. He was holding a book and was wearing the obvious white along with the emblem of the Angelic Army.

The angel looked down and saw two creatures. A Great Wizard with a very pure mana and... a demigod. He looked at the demigod and slightly frowned. Her aura was very weak for a demigod. He arrived here because it was a god's flame that was used and it peeking his interest.

It would be rare for something to peek his interest. After all, he was one of the 7 Strategists of the Angelic Army. Furthermore of the seven he ranked second.

"Hey Angel Ramzan, Hello.. Are you there?" Tezariah interrupted. Yuria looked up in amazement at the angel. Never in her life did she imagine that she would see a real angel while alive. Her exhaustion was changed into another wave of excitement.

"Sign a contract with me. I'll give you this." Tezariah said. He brought out the god relic in his storage. The rat's hand immediately released its power. The angel looked at the finger in shock. He never though someone like Tezariah had a god's relic in his hand.

The main reason why Tezariah did this was that angels are creatures of light and "holiness", but at the same time, they lacked divinity. Some higher-ranked ones had a tinge of divinity in them but it was lack-luster. On the other hand, demons had purer divinities as they derived their powers from their domains. This is why in terms of pure power, a demon can overcome an angel. While when it comes to intelligence, both beings were comparable. The only saving grace of angels was their armaments which counter the divinity of a demons. Thus, a god's relic a good bait to them. A chance to acquire a divinity to break their shackles.

The angel looked at Tezariah and contemplated. Before he could speak...

"And this." Tezariah then took out a crystal. It was a white crystal which permeated strong holy mana. A Origin Crystal! Only found in heart of very extreme worlds, this crystal was the accumulation of thousand of years of mana. The attributes of each Origin Crystal is determined by the world mana and purity of this mana. There are many uses of such crystal but the main use of it was to be absorbed to increase their power.

The reason why Tezariah did not absorb it was because using an Origin Crystal and absorbing it would set your mana type. To Tezariah who wanted to learn all types of magic, this was more of a restriction. But for beings with an already set mana attribute, if compatible this thing would be a great treasure enough to last them a lifetime. Even gods would be tempted to take an Origin Crystal to absorb, more less an angel.

If the god relic only made the angel think, then the crystal was the final nail to coffin. He agreed. Tezariah smiled lightly and took out a contract. The angel saw the contract and frowned. Such a contract was absurd and outright bullying.

There were 18 provisions in the contract, with the next provision more absurd than the last. The first provision was to follow Tezariah for 100 year, The exact maximum! The 8th provision asked him to give him his seal. That made Tezariah capable of using his name for all sorts of things. Finally the last provision, stated he must follow all his orders even against his race.

One must know that fighting among angels is taboo. Furthermore when caught, they would become a fallen angel which was hunted down by all other angels.

On the other hand, the counter provisions for Tezariah was also tempting. Lastly he read the final sentences at the bottom.

[Breaking of this contract would incur the destruction of the soul of the breaker.]

Vicious! Yet it tempted the angel. Finally after some hard thinking, the pros was better than the cons. He agreed and signed the contract. Tezariah finally sighed. Even for Tezariah, this contract signing was stressful and hard.

Finally the angle turned into specks of light and approached Tezariah. It then turned into a tattoo at his right shoulder. It was the mark of the Angelic Army.

After a quick rest, Tezariah was now preparing to summon a demon. To this, he finally laughed. Now is a time to vent...
