Chapter 4 - Bloodthirsty Woman

All of them were alarmed and immediately stood to check what was happening. Outside the house, a group of were starting to thrash the place. The twin outlooking from the second floor stared scarily at streets as a woman being dragged by a man in black suits. Tezariah, Yuria, and the old man, Tenzo exited the house just to be greeted by looting and violence.

Tenzo sighed, looking at Yuria who was looking back at him. Tezariah also look at Tenzo, and from his sigh he could infer that this was common in this area. Yuria sprung into action and started attacking the men in suits. Of course, this did not come unnoticed as the men swarmed at Yuria like agitated bees.

Tenzo was silent and nervous. Even though he had confidence in her daughter, danger was still danger. Although Tenzo wanted to help, a warm pain from his back started to radiate reminding him that all he could do is look. He looked at the fight with a solemn stare. Praying to the gods silently that his daughter would be safe.

On Tezariah's side, he stared the fight. He was observing the fight and found Yuria was indeed different. Her strength was... unnatural for a woman her size. At most Yuria stood at 5 foot and 3 or 4 inches and her body was not too muscular but also lacked fat, enough to show she was athletic. But what surprised Tezariah was even with men with bigger mass, her punched could push them back. Also, Tezariah noticed a strong bloodlust coming from here. A thick, bloody red, bloodlust that alarmed him.

One of the men was unlucky enough to thrown overhead and into a glass window shattering it and piercing his back. It was unknown if the man was alive or dead. Another one tried to sneak attack with a weapon but Tezariah secretly casted [Misfortune] and [Minor Hallucination] at the man who "unluckily" missed his swing by a large margin hitting his fellow in the head which knock him cold. He once again tried to attack but this time he tripped and fell into a plank with nails sticking out of it. Luckily for his life, it only landed and pierced his cheeks.

Tezariah secretly casted spells either interfering with the judgement and cognition or just outright causing their bones to fracture. Yuria also noticed the changes and immediately became more aggressive. One of the attackers was punched by Yuria at the chest and immediately fell gasping for air. Another one was low kicked and fell sideways with his head hitting the trunk of a car. Each attack of Yuria was simple, systematic and brutal. Each strike was aimed at either vitals or sensitive areas like the head and groin. In the end, all of the 20 men where either dead, knocked out or incapacitated.

After what seemed like an hour the police and medics arrived. They were greeted by a somewhat a gory sight. There was blood everyone. Some were even were presumed dead. Yuria approached them and showed her badge while still wiping blood splatters in her face. While the medics did their work, Yuria reported what happened.

Tezariah stared at Yuria. He felt that this woman is scarier than any beast he has encountered. Just the amount of bloodlust she was carrying was enough to frighten any creature especially if it was directed at them. In fact, Tezariah wondered how such a woman could have such heavy bloodlust in such a "more peaceful" society per se.

Yuria approached Tezariah and looked at him apologetically. She seemingly didn't want Tezariah to see such a bloody scene. This gave Tezariah the feeling that even though Yuria was a bloodthirsty person in a fight, she could control it and even knew when to release it. Like a veteran general of a thousand wars.

They entered the house, and the grandmother just finished cooking. A table filled with different dishes and a pot filled with what humans of this world as "rice". Tezariah stomach growled which garnered the laughter of everyone. Even the old woman smiled softly. Yuria could not blame Tezariah though as he did not have any proper meal since she met him.

Tezariah on the other hand felt hunger because he casted here and there. After all, he needed energy when casting and thus it drained him a lot. Luckily, aside from mana crystals, beast cores and spiritual essences food was a good source of energy. Food was the easiest, safest and most convenient way to replenish energy albeit insufficient for people who had huge mana pools.

It was bed time and Tezariah slept on a bed for the first time since he arrived in this world. But his heart and morale was higher than ever. After all, to him, this is a new world. More discoveries await him and maybe, he could discover the secrets of the world in this place. Tezariah slept, for the first time in ages, a peaceful sleep.
