Chapter 8 - More Questions

Tezariah awoke with a splitting headache. Staring at the ceiling he began to recount the events. The presence of these creatures known as Skaven is unnatural. The mere presence of their existence is already a threat to this world which alarmed Tezariah. He sighed and decided that he would return to the site after recovering to investigate. Luckily he got the artifact.

Taking out the stored artifact from his spatial storage, he began to study it. It was a typical Rat God's Totem but the difference was the obvious [God's Aura] permeating from it. Beneath it was a circle or rather...

Cutting the circle, it formed fell and made a hole. A finger fell from the circle; a huge "rat" finger. A radiating aura came from it. Tezariah now knew where the God's Aura came from. While observing the finger a head appear in front of him. The girl from the cavern stared at Tezariah.

Tezariah on the other hand looked back. Immediately he noticed certain things that he didn't notice due to their distance and the chaos before. He noticed the elven ears on her. Her body also had the scent of the wild, something very distinct...

This girl was an elf; a Wood Elf to be exact!

Weren't Wood Elves isolationists? How did someone from their race end here? The weirdest thing is how did an elf child end up in a cavern where a Horned Rat God's "finger" is hidden? Dozens of such questions appeared in his head. The more he thought about it, the more he felt baffled and more he wanted to investigate. Although he knew that anything involving a God was never lead to anything good, it was better than not knowing anything about the situation.

He sat up and looked at the kid who was still staring at him. She immediately ran away into the hallway. Tezariah first checked the state of his body. It seems like his body was now accustomed to refining and was doing it naturally even if he was asleep. What astonished Tezariah was his mana core has now expanded a third from what he remembered. He knew how difficult it was to expand a mana core.

In fact his mana core before was just at the Grand Master Level, just below a Great Wizard. But what made him stand out from the rest was the purity of his mana was thrice of anyone from his world. Now his mana core could be said to touch the baseline of a Great Wizard. Alongside with the purity of his mana, he was definitely at the level in between of a 5-Star Great Wizard and 1-Star Wizard Overlord.

Standing up, he went out from the hallway and found the three kids and the twins running around alongside with other kids. Seemingly the three kids have been accustomed to the place. Yuria who was scrolling her phone came out from another room and looked at Tezariah. She looked and said hi then proceeded to go into the restroom locking the door. Tezariah felt weird from her actions. He scoffed it off and walked towards the kitchen to ask for food. What he saw when he entered was a lot of food.

All around the kitchen, living room and in the garden where different people eating. Loud music was playing and everyone seems to be apathetic towards his entry. Yuria's grandmother spotted him and approached. She tagged her and started to introduce him to people and by virtue, Tezariah made the slight bows of courtesy he was used to give during parties. They looked at him in amusement. After introducing people, she pointed to the food. Tezariah knew immediately what she meant and nodded. He immediately went to get some food and placed it in a plate. He went in a random corner and started eating.

Yuria returned and took her plate. She started to talk to some people while stealing glances at Tezariah who was eating silently. Her glances though were noticed by Tezariah who looked back. She immediately stopped glancing.

After a while people started to leave. Some stayed and were escorted to their rooms by either the twins, Yuria or his father Tenzo. On the other hand, Tezariah and grandmother started to clean. Later on after all things were set and done, Yuria grabbed Tezariah's hand and dragged him to the garden area. Yuria was about to talk when a loud voice echoed from the hallways. Yuria seemed to expect the voice and an old 5'7 to 5'8 man appeared. It was probably the grandfather of Yuria.

The old man immediately went to her wife and they bantered like a newlywed. He also started to scold his son, maybe because let the old woman do work. Yuria sighed and walked away seemingly disappointed.

"We can talk later." Tezariah shouted. Yuria looked back and smiled giving him a nod in reply. She went and talked to her grandfather while Tezariah was in the garden looking at the plants. Tezariah went to an inconspicuous corner, sat down, and began meditating.

...

A few hours later, around nighttime the meditation was interrupted by Yuria staring at him. He stood up and approached her. She immediately grabbed his hand once again and brought him into her room.

"Now... Start explaining. I'll ask questions as you explain." Yuria said. Her eyes were sharp and was like a spear trying to pierce someone. Tezariah started to think...

"Where should I start?"

"Start from how, why and what the hell just happened at that place."

Tezariah began to tell his story, though he was omitting some complicated stuff, it was more or less the comprehensive story and took a full night to tell. It was dawn when he finished explaining...
