Chereads / What's wrong with me? / Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 11

Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 11

"TELL ME, WHAT'S GOING ON?!!!" Trinity yelled as they sped off onto the main road. Her eyes were in tears, and the only belonging she had was the clothes on her skin, which wasn't hers at all.

She looked back and saw only fire and smoke. "TYRONE?" She was almost certain that Tyrone was either deaf, or pretended to be.

"Can you drive?" Finally he had said something, even when it was a question.

"What?" After Trinity had asked so many questions, this is the reply she gets. A question. Can she drive. Is this guy nuts?.

"Can you drive?" He asked looking at her intently.

"Yeah," Trinity said slowly.

"Take the wheel."

"What?"

"Must I repeat myself all the time? Take the wheel, meaning drive the damn van!"

"Where are...." "JUST FUCKING DRIVE."

Trinity immediately shifted towards the drivers seat. "Whatever happens, don't slow down," Tyrone said, as their eyes met. She just nodded. There was something in his eyes that just made Trinity feel safe, like she could trust him.

He climbed out through the window of the vehicle and went on the roof, while Trinity settled herself in the drivers seat and stepped on the gas.

She could see the Battle of fire and water through the rear view mirror. To her horror she realised that her father was no longer fighting the intruder, meaning... "Is my father there too?" She asked, knowing she'll never get her reply. Oh how she hated this guy, even when she just knew him since an hour or so ago.

"Turn left," She heard Tyrones voice in her head.

"We ca...." "LEFT!!" She turned the van on the first left turn, just as she felt a thud on the roof. She almost lost control, as she spun the steering wheel with all her power, to keep them on the road.

"What was that?" She asked, just as the young boy around her age slipped in through the window, onto the passenger seat.

"You can slow down. We lost him," He said calmly.

By now, the sun had risen just above the horizon, giving a mesmerizing golden red glow to the sky and clouds. The birds had come out of sleep and were greeting each other in a chirping song. The only thing that remained of the battle was a scorched ground, that was wet as though a tsunami had hit it.

Trinity stopped the van on the side of the road and got out, looking towards the direction they had just come. "What are you doing?" Tyrone got out and slammed the door of the poor van.

"Where's my father?" Trinity asked, really slowly. She saw no one behind them. Her father and Sabrina should have caught up with them by now.

"Get in the van," Tyrone told Trinity, as he started to open the door.

"No. I need answers. NOW." She said, looking at the guy, straight in his eyes. He stared back for a moment. Her eyes were filled with anger and sorrow. He understood that feeling.

"Ok. Get in the van, we'll talk on the way." This time, Tyrones' voice was more tender than before, and his eyes were softer. Trinity, without saying a word, got into their transport, in the passenger side. There was no way she would be driving, after having to drive like that.

"How much do you know about dragons?" Tyrone asked, as he drove the half battered vehicle.

"Just a few, there are different types of dragons, they are in a meeting, meaning ball, and I just learnt about knights," Trinity replied.

"So basically, you know nothing," Tyrone said, with a lack of emotion. "Dragons are the most powerful, majestic and protecting beasts there is; or at least 'were' the most powerful, until one of us became greedy. Ryphonsus was powerful beyond imagination, but instead of helping humans, he started ruling over them, killing anyone who questioned him. Soon karma caught up with him, when he decided to kill an innocent child, who turned out to be a witches daughter, next in line to gain knowledge of the most powerful witchcraft in history.

Upon hearing about her only child's untimely demise, Alexandra, went mad with rage. She went and cursed Ryphonsus that he and all of his kind would turn into humans, and become the hunted, only than would we learn what fear and slaughtering means. So here we are," Tyrone completed his history on dragons.

"Isn't there anything we can do?" Trinity asked.

Tyrone shrugged, "well there is a legend that when dragons realize their mistakes and seek forgiveness from the Gods, he will send a dragon with all powers, who will control 5 elements, and this dragon will save our race, but no one's heard anything about it yet."

"How'd my father know that we were gonna get attacked?" Trinity was confused. It couldn't have been Sabrina, so how would her father know?"

"I was on my way to visit when I heard them a few miles behind me," Tyrone said. "Don't ask me how."

"Don't you think we should go back for...." "We should get to the meeting fast. They're both probably dead anyway," Tyrone said, coldly.

"What if they survived?" Trinity asked looking at him.

"Then they'll meet us there."

"So there's a chance...." "Look, there's one thing you should understand, there's no knowing what will happen to who. Don't get emotionally attached to anyone. Not even to your parents."

There was silence. Trinity didn't know what to say. How could someone be so uncaring, heartless and cold? But then again, she had just met him. Maybe she shouldn't just judge him, not before knowing him., But again, how can a person just leave his mother without finding out if she is dead or alive? His own mother? Trinity suddenly remembered how she heard his voice in her head to turn left.

"How did I hear you in my head?" She asked, as she didn't know what else to talk about.

"It's called mindlink. Dragons can communicate with each other through their minds. More like how you can talk to your own dragon in your head, your dragon can talk to other dragons."

"I can talk to my dragon? How?" Trinity was surprised to hear that.

Tyrone gave Trinity an 'are you serious' look. When he saw that she looked confused, he explained, "Talk inside your head."

"Hey, I'm hungry," Trinity said as her stomach growled.

Tyrone just rolled his eyes. He was really getting tired of speaking to this girl, who didn't even know about dragons. Had he not promised Triyast to look after her and take her to the meeting safe and sound, he'd have kicked her out of the van miles back. As soon as she finds her supposed mate, his duty will be done, as she will become his problem.

"Hello? Trinity to Tyrone... "

"I heard you. Do you have money?"

"No."

"Neither do I. How are we suppose to get food? Steal?" Tyrone said in an angry voice.

Trinity sat quietly. She remembered her father, the restaurant they'd stopped by, the food... she didn't even realise that a tear rolled down her cheek. How could this guy be so mean? he could have said it in a better tone. It's not like she can control when she feels hungry. While thinking about that, she didn't know when she fell asleep.

She was awakened by someone roughly shaking her. "Wakey wakey sleeping beauty. we're here."

She opened her eyes to see a town full of people walking about dressed in beautiful clothing, hurrying towards an old looking castle. Everything was so colourful, the buildings, the flowers on the sidewalk, the road. She looked towards the horizon, the sun was setting. "What time is it?" She asked, shocked that she'd slept this long.

"Time we reached here." She knew it was a mistake to ask anything from Tyrone.

She was starving and right now, all she could think of was food. She could even smell all sorts of eatables, hear the crunch of the snacks and smell the freshly baked bread... oh her stomach was now growling so loud.

'Oh for crying out loud, eat something girl' she heard a very familiar voice, a voice from within, say. 'I'm starving. If you don't eat, I'll be out and start looking for food myself.'

'Dragona?' Trinity thought to herself.

'Who else?' said the voice.

"We're here," Tyrone announced, as he came to a stop in a parking lot, outside of the castle.

"Finally," Trinity said as she hopped out of the van. There was a lot of hustle and bustle outside the castle, as people, who she assumed were dragons, made their way into, and out of the huge door of the fortress. They were all chatting happily, with each other.

She looked around for any signs of her father, but there weren't any. Mayby he's late. She looked at the people wearing such amazing clothes.

"Trinity!" A very familiar voice said excitedly.

She looked towards the voice and was surprised to see a very familiar face.

"Martha?" She asked in disbelief. "Is it really you?''

''Oh, you've grown up.'' Martha hugged Trinity. She returned the hug, ''I've missed you so much....'' She released her old nanny, as she realized something; ''You're a dragon?''

Martha smiled as she nodded, ''Yes, I am.''

"Why didn't you ever tell me?''

''I did, but you were too young to understand.''

''You did?''

''Yup. Now let's get inside. You must be starving.'' As if on queue, Trinitys stomach growled so loud, she could feel everyone around that area looking at her. "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse," She admitted, as she followed Martha.
