Chapter 10 - Exploring Outside

Lorne, who had been practicing his aiming for five hours, felt that he should have the ability to protect himself. He thought of leaving the shelter to explore the outside world.

However, if he wanted to get out, he would undoubtedly have to face the terrifying heat on the surface. Therefore, Lorne planned to go to the R&D Center to make a good protective suit.

He was preparing for his exploration.

Lorne walked into the R & D center and checked on the central computer to see if there were any blueprints of protective suits.

Soon the central computer gave Lorne the blueprints he needed.

[Radiation-proof Suits]

[Defensive Alloy Suit (10)]

Note: This protective suit cannot isolate high temperatures. If the host wears it to hot places, he might be roasted.

[High-temperature insulation suit (5)]

Note: It can only resist normal temperature, and the suit is not equipped with defense against damage. If the protective suit is damaged, the host might be in danger.

[Combat Alloy Protective Suit (25)]

Note: This protective suit can increase the host's defense and will not affect the host's movements. It also has good resistance and is not easily damaged. It can resist high-temperature radiation.

...

Lorne looked at the series of blueprints given by the system and naturally focused on the first three blueprints.

Because the rest of the blueprints were too expensive, with Lorne's current points, he could not afford them. Therefore, he had no desire to look at the blueprints below.

Among the three blueprints that appeared, the first two had a certain weakness. The first blueprint could only withstand impacts and not high temperatures. The second blueprint could withstand high temperatures but was easily damaged.

Therefore, Lorne naturally chose the third blueprint. Although the third blueprint was almost twice as expensive as the other two blueprints, he had to think about his life when exploring outside.

Now was not the time to be concerned about points. Thus, Lorne quickly purchased the blueprint for the third protective suit on the central computer.

Then he clicked on it and began its crafting process. In the process of making it, Lorne encountered a new difficulty. He realized that he did not have the materials to make protective suits.

Fortunately, the system could replace raw materials with points, so Lorne spent another five points.

After spending 5 points, the work table beside the central computer was quickly enveloped by a ball of light.

Finally, a red and black protective suit appeared in front of Lorne. The entire protective suit was black in color, and the bright red color wrapped around the protective suit like flames, adding a hint of aggression to it.

Upon seeing the cool appearance, Lorne remembered that the third protective suit was a combat protective suit.

After the production was completed, Lorne impatiently opened the cover on the work table and took out the protective suit.

The material of the protective suit was a material that Lorne did not recognize at all, but it felt very comfortable to touch. It had a smooth feeling.

Lorne put on the protective suit. The moment he put it on, Lorne felt a chill.

It was very comfortable, just like staying in an air-conditioned room in summer. There was no stuffy heat at all.

Lorne began to walk around the room. It felt very good. There was no sense of inconvenience at all. It was no different from when he was not wearing the protective suit.

"As expected, the System's products are definitely top-notch." Lorne praised the System.

After adapting for a while, Lorne began to walk towards the door. With excitement, he pushed open the door above his residence.

The moment Lorne walked out of his residence, a wave of energy hit him. However, with the protection of the suit, Lorne only took half a step back.

Composing himself, Lorne began to observe the world after the disaster.

The sky was like a painting that had been cut by someone else. There were streaks of white in the dark blue sky. These were left behind by the asteroid fragments when they descended.

Compared to the sky, the ground was even more miserable.

The entire surface of the ground was filled with holes of various sizes. Dust would occasionally flow up and down in the air while heat waves would constantly roll about.

The previously lush forest was now like a scene from hell. Large patches of trees had collapsed, turning into coal. Some trees were still burning.

Looking at the burning ground, Lorne could imagine the temperature. Fortunately, he had the protective suit, so he could explore around.

There weren't many people living near his own residence, and there were few supplies he could find nearby, so Lorne decided to explore the city center.

Because the meteorite had just landed for a period of time, the ground was still very hot, so protective clothing was a must for anyone that wanted to move around the surface.

However, this was only temporary. Soon, the Earth would be affected by the atmosphere. Then, cold air would flow in, and the temperature would drop to about 100 degrees. This would bring Earth to the Ice Age.

In the following days, the temperature of the entire city and even the entire world would begin to drop rapidly. Then, it would start to rain heavily. When it rained, the cold air would quickly condense.

One of the reasons why Lorne came out this time was to search for living animals.

He wanted to bring back some animals such as chickens and ducks and raise them to ensure his future protein intake.

He should upgrade the drainage system and heating system in his residence. Otherwise, he would have to hide in the greenhouse to sleep after the temperature dropped.

After all, if the Ice Age came and he didn't have a heating system in his room, he might become a huge popsicle when he woke up.

As Lorne pondered his next move on the way, he suddenly realized that he still had a lot of things to upgrade, but he didn't seem to have enough points.

"When will the system give me a mission? Give me a little more points. Otherwise, I'll have to wait for a long time if I have to depend on the points settlement every day," Lorne thought to himself.

It was already close to noon. Even though Earth had been attacked by the asteroid, the Sun was still hanging in the sky. It was silently shining and emitting heat.

However, it had nothing to do with Lorne. In his protective suit, it was as if he carried an air conditioner with him. There was no heat at all.

On the road that led to the city center, the green plants on the side were being burned by the flames. Some of the plants that weren't burned had dried up and their leaves were turning yellow.

As time passed, Lorne arrived at the city center. The streets were quiet.

Most of the skyscrapers from before had not collapsed, but the glass on them had already shattered. Some places were still burning with raging flames.

Lorne began to advance slowly, but he could vaguely see a few figures moving ahead.
