Chapter 16 - Making Guns

Chi chi!

Whitey also shouted happily when it heard Lorne's words. Then, it walked beside Lorne's hand and pecked him twice to express its agreement.

"Hahaha!" Lorne was also very happy to see Whitey's actions.

"Okay, take a rest here. I have something to do in that room. I'll be out in a while," Lorne said to White as he pointed at the door of the R&D Center.

"Chik! Chik!" Hearing Lorne's words, Whitey called out to him to show that it understood. Then, it turned its head and slowly ate the food.

"Hahaha." Lorne couldn't help but be dumbfounded when he saw the gluttonous Whitey. He thought that Whitey was a cold and proud bird, but it was actually a little foodie.

After observing for a while, he walked to the R&D Center.

Lorne planned to create a gun to increase his ability to protect himself.

Lorne walked into the R&D Center and began searching for the blueprints for the most suitable guns on the central computer.

This time, Lorne planned to create a rifle and a pistol. If he encountered a lone target, he would use the pistol to deal with it.

If he encountered many people, the rifle would appear more intimidating.

Lorne first searched for the blueprints for the pistol on the central computer. Soon, the computer displayed the various blueprints that were suitable for Lorne.

[Black USP pistol blueprint, 10 points]

[Glock-17 blueprint, 15 points]

[M500 blueprint, 15 points]

[Desert Eagle blueprint, 20 points]

[Colt Blueprint, 15 points]

...

Among all the blueprints, Lorne immediately saw the eye-catching name, Desert Eagle.

The gun was the most familiar name to Lorne. The Desert Eagle was created by a company in Israel.

Its heavy gunshots were powerful, making it a target for many collectors and military enthusiasts.

Lorne immediately took a fancy to this blueprint and downloaded it with his points.

Although the Desert Eagle's blueprint was a little more expensive than other blueprints, this was just a trivial problem for Lorne.

After downloading the blueprint, Lorne placed the required metals on the work table.

Then, the central computer sent the downloaded blueprint to the control panel of the work table and closed the cover. Soon, the work table was enveloped by a burst of light.

A clock on the dashboard outside the work table showed a countdown.

The timer indicated that there was still an hour before the gun was manufactured. The sudden display of time stunned Lorne. It had not been displayed when he was making the crossbow.

Was it because making guns was more complicated?

After experiencing a short period of doubt, Lorne began to slowly observe the work table. He realized that this work table could also be upgraded, and as long as it was upgraded, the production time would decrease.

This caught Lorne off guard. He had been confused by the high-level appearance of the work table. He had thought that this work table was the highest level and did not need to continue upgrading. He did not expect it to still be upgradeable.

"You damn greedy system." Lorne mocked the system in his mind.

"The system's charge is reasonable," the system replied mechanically.

"Ah…" Lorne choked on his words and didn't say anything else.

Seeing that it would take an hour to complete the production, Lorne no longer had the intention to stay in the R&D Center. He slowly walked out of the living room to see what Whitey was doing.

As soon as he left the R&D Center, he saw Whitey. It was holding a large jerky and using its claws to slowly tear it into pieces so that it could eat it easily.

It had to be said that Whitey's claws were extremely sharp. The dried meat, which was a little hard from the sun, became as fragile as paper under its claws. It was torn apart with a gentle cut.

Lorne slowly walked to Whitey's side. When it saw Lorne come out, it looked very happy.

It pushed the dried meat toward Lorne, hinting for him to taste the fruits of its labor.

"Nice, I didn't raise you for nothing." Lorne was happy to see Whitey's actions.

He gently picked up a piece of meat from the bowl and put it in his mouth.

"It tastes good," Lorne praised Whitey.

Having another living being in the shelter feels quite good, Lorne thought to himself. He began to play with Whitey on the sofa.

An hour was not a long time, and it passed quickly. Lorne walked into the R&D Center again to see how his gun production was going.

The cover on the work table of the R&D Center had automatically opened. There was a tough-looking gun lying on it.

This should be the Desert Eagle he created. Its cool appearance, coupled with the large caliber gun barrel, attracted Lorne's gaze.

Lorne reached out and took off the Desert Eagle from the work table. It felt quite heavy.

The entire gun's structure looked very complicated. Because he had downloaded the blueprint on the central computer, Lorne could check the structure of any part of the gun.

This was very important for Lorne to control the gun. He opened the magazine and took a look. He suddenly realized that this Desert Eagle's magazine capacity was eight bullets.

After unlocking the blueprint, he could also start making the bullets for the gun.

The Desert Eagle's bullets were made by the work table. One point could make eight bullets, which was equivalent to a magazine.

This was nothing to Lorne, who had some points now.

After holding the gun, Lorne suppressed the desire to try the gun immediately.

After all, the gun restriction law was quite strict. As a civilian, Lorne did not have the opportunity to come into contact with guns, so he was clearly excited.

However, Lorne planned to test the pistol along with the rifle. That would be double the joy. Therefore, he suppressed the urge to immediately test the power of the Desert Eagle.

Lorne put the Desert Eagle aside and began searching for blueprints for the rifle on the central computer.

The central computer quickly displayed the blueprints that Lorne wanted to search for.

[The M16 rifle blueprint, 30 points.]

[AK47 rifle blueprint, 25 points.]

[The M4A1 rifle blueprint, 35 points.]

[MP5 rifle blueprint, 30 points.]

[SCAR assault rifle blueprint, 40 points]

[…]

Lorne was dazzled by these various rifles. He really wanted to choose the blueprint for the AK47. After all, he had heard that the power of those rifles was extremely great.

But then he remembered that the AK47 did not seem to be very accurate.

If someone like him, who had never used a gun before, used an AK47, the chances are he would not be able to shoot accurately even if he emptied the magazine.

Therefore, to be safe, Lorne chose the blueprint for the M4A1.

After spending 35 points, Lorne downloaded the blueprint from the central computer.

According to the procedures, Lorne placed the necessary materials on the work table. Soon, the work table was covered with materials.

A three-hour countdown appeared on the dashboard. This time, Lorne did not go out to look for Whitey. Instead, he waited quietly in the R&D Center alone for time to pass.

The bored Lorne picked up the Desert Eagle and carefully studied the blueprint on the central computer.

As time passed, Lorne slowly figured out the disassembling and assembling method of every component on the Desert Eagle. He could now reassemble the Desert Eagle with the blueprint.
