Chapter 9 - The Next Day.

Amanda.

The next day she woke up with swollen eyes and a throbbing head.

"Oh my god... What the hell is wrong with me?" She questioned herself and jumped out of bed.

But, she knew exactly what the hell was wrong with her.

Ansel.

He got up with swollen eyes and a throbbing heart.

"What the fuck is wrong with me?" He questioned himself and picked up his phone from his side table.

He dialed Seth's number.

"Hey man, let's go to the club tonight," He said.

"Sure man,"

What is this uneasy feeling? I'm not used to this shit.

Amanda.

She changed and went downstairs for breakfast. Her mother was in the kitchen preparing breakfast, She knew she had to wait, so she sat down watching her Mom work.

"Just five minutes," Her mother said. She nodded and took out her phone. As soon as she switched it on something struck her mind.

Jung.

That handsome guy from the mall.

She scrolled through her contacts and stopped on his name.

There he was. Oh, Not him... His number.

A smile crept up her lips and she pressed on his number. Her heart was beating faster than normal, She was getting nervous.

But then, she gathered up her courage and typed something.

Hello.

A five-worded greeting and an excuse to start a conversation. Simple.

She looked over at her mother who was placing a plate of pancakes in front of her.

"Thanks," She smiled and was just deciding to focus on her breakfast when her mobile buzzed.

Hi... Who's there? :O

Well, that was fast.

She decided to reply to him before digging into her breakfast.

The girl from the mall...

Um. I don't recall. I'm sorry...

Her heart fell, What if he doesn't remember her at all?

The one you gave your number to :D

Oh... Kitten?

That's twice you called me that... Why?

U look like one, Cute and...

And?

"Amy, Your breakfast!" Her Mom called, Amy nodded hurriedly still not taking off her eyes from the phone.

You never told me your name

It's Amanda.

Amanda?

Wealth.Amanda Wealth

Wow... Nice name, I'm Seong Jung-Wook.

Korean?

Yeah. Born here.

Oh, okay.

Can I call Uh?

Um... Okay.

That was so direct.

Amanda left her breakfast and got up.

"What happened?" Mrs. Wealth asked.

"Nothing, I'm full." She said and went outside.

Her phone rang and she picked it up.

"Hey..." His voice rang from the other side of the phone.

"Hi."

"I'm happy that you texted me," He had an American accent. Pure.

"Uh... So am I," She said, not knowing what to say next.

"Can we meet?" He asked.

"That's so early and direct,"

She heard him laugh the cutest laugh on the other end.

"Please."

The magic word.

Amanda inhaled sharply.

"Okay, But promise me you're not a serial killer or something,"

He laughed again.

"I promise I'm not a serial killer. I'm just an innocent guy."

Amanda smiled.

"Okay, Where do you want to meet?" She asked.

"The mall." She could hear the happiness in his voice.

"Okay, pick me up after twelve and that's one hour from now,"

"Yeah! Text me the address, Kitten."

*

He had eaten a whole bowl of salad and still, he wasn't full.

"God, You eat so much!" Amanda was surprised at his appetite.

He laughed over his Big Mac.

"I'm a guy, Guys eat like horses!" He defended himself. Amanda laughed.

"Okay, I'm surprised how your parents feed you,"

Jung smiled at this but his expressions had changed. Amanda noticed that.

"Oh... I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you or anything," Jung looked at her and shook his head.

"No way, I'm not hurt, It's just..." He took a deep breath.

"It's okay if you don't wanna tell,"

"No... It's completely okay, It's just that my mother is a single parent,"

"Oh. Did you dad... pass away?" Amanda tried to choose her words carefully.

"Nah... He abandoned us, Left us nineteen years ago,"

"Nineteen?" She frowned.

"Yeah, I'm twenty-one,"

Amanda nodded. That'll work.

"Tough luck." She didn't know what to say.

Why am I so awkward?

"No way, I think we are better off without him," Jung smiled toothily at Amanda and she smiled back.

He took the last bite of his burger then looked at Amanda.

"What?" She demanded.

"I'm gonna get an ice cream and um... some fries?"

Amanda stared at him for several seconds.

"Jung! You'll burst!" Jung laughed and pinched her nose.

"I'll get ice cream for you too, Kitten."

Amanda laughed and got up.

"I'm coming with you."

He smiled and nodded. Amanda felt happy. She felt confident.

"Do you want to get something else?" He asked.

"No, Thank you."

"Don't be formal with me, just act like we're best friends."

"Oh, you want that? Okay, I was just respecting you. I guess." She blushed.

"No need for that, Amanda."

"You can call me Amy," She told him, surprised that she said that.

She was feeling really happy with him.

"Okay Amy," He smiled the world's most beautiful smile which caused Amanda to smile back.

Woah.
