Chapter 27 - The Seventh Prince

I check my basket.

"Healing... numbing... gauze... should be it," I mumble. "I'm heading off again Magi!"

The cat meows. "Miao!"

I lock the door, cast the spell, and rush off to the military camp.

"The noirette alchemist is here!" The guard calls, and I avoid everyone to rush into the room. Most of the people that had hope yesterday are able to sit up or move lightly now. That was good.

"Blackie!"

I glare at the nickname.

"Quiet." I take off my gloves, shove a couple potions to the ones who needed them, and I head over to the very back. Shadow arts was mostly used in the military for instant death. The mere fact that they managed to barely survive the hit was a miracle. I open a small window, and I draw out the remaining shadows. I let the sun burn their skin lightly, and I heal the rest. "The rest is up to you all whether or not you survive. There are people looking forward to your return. Remember that."

I close the door to the tent, and I sigh.

"Are you alright maiden? I heard there was a big glow in this tent,"

"I'm alright," I sigh. "It was the potions."

"Ah..." The man looks at the tent. "Will they be alright?"

"It all depends on them." I hum. "You cannot fight death without willpower."

"I see," The male mumbles.

"Ah here are the potions for the others," I hand him the basket. "They're all labeled and a little bit at a time is the best way to use them."

"Alright,"

Footsteps are approaching.

"Commander,"

"Your highness." The commander rushes to kneel and I stand there in confusion before bowing lightly.

"Your majesty."

"Is this the healer you brought from the nearby village?"

I stare at the prince. He doesn't intimidate me for some reason.

"What is your name?"

"I go by Crysta your highness."

The prince smiles. "As you should know, I am the seventh prince Zachary."

"A pleasure to be of help your highness."

"Say..." He eyes me, and speaks up. "Have we met before?"

"I do not believe so," I shake my head. Who am I kidding, I've seen this man in my dreams way to many times to want to admit that we have.

"You... no you do not have golden highlights." He mumbles. "Because of the weird sense of familiarity though, please call me Zachary without my title,"

"No no no your majesty I couldn't possibly do that." I panic.

"Don't worry about it," The prince smiles. "She is settling permanently... right?"

"No your highness," The commander shakes his head. "She visits the village once a month and lives further away."

I smile. A lie but I did not want to be around royalty any longer than necessary.

"I see..." The prince mumbles. "Even if we pay you well?"

"Money is not the issue," I smile.

The prince sighs. "It's rare that we find a healer in the village nowadays since father purged the witches..."

So he knows his dad murdered all the witches? At least he's self-aware.

"Well we won't force you. But please leave your home uncovered in the rare case that we bump into you during battle." the prince smiles. "We received news that brother Terence is going to ambush us in the northern forest."

BESTIE MY HOUSE??? NAKED??? NO BESTIE THAT'S NOT HAPPENING-

"How about this," I sigh. I summon two crystals from my hand, and I place the other hand on the prince's eye.

"You-!"

A small glow emits from his eye, and the crystals turn into contacts.

"This one's for you. My home can only be seen with the right contacts." I hand the prince a contact. "This other one, you can have another one of the healers change so that it fits."

"Am I the only one who can see?"

"You all have brooches as an army right?" I stare at his brooch.

"Yes."

"Anyone with the brooch can see." I merge the other stone into the brooch. "Keep an eye out, there's only one door to my place."

"Alright..." The Prince mumbles. "You sure you're not a witch?"

"Does it matter?" I shrug. "Plenty of magicians exist these days."

The prince smiles. "Thank you for your help."

I smile. "In exchange, please end this war as soon as possible."

"That goes without saying," The prince shakes my hand and I leave.

I can already feel tonight's dream.

And sure enough, it's about the prince I saw today.

"Lily... how come we can't just throw hands now?"

"We don't have the intel and power yet," Words come out of my mouth and I watch.

"Mistress Lily!"

"What's wrong darling?"

"I got the papers!"

"Good job Dia," I feel myself smile. "Would you like me to bring you something?"

"Can... we go to the festival together?"

"Yes," I laugh without trying. "Let's take everyone along with us?"

"Yes!"

"What about Belladonna?"

"He can come as well," I hum. "He is my $#*@($*#$# after all"

... $#*@($*#$#? What is that? Was a word just censored in my dream???? BESTIE?? IS HE MY ENEMY?? BEST FRIEND??? WHAT'S GOING ON???

I grumble in my dream, and another scenario shows up.

The man's face is blurred.

"Do you like roses?" Words are coming from my mouth again.

"Yes. But... all the flowers here still don't compare to you."

I feel my face flush red. "You're disgustingly cheesy. Why did I ever #*@#$ you again?"

Censored. Again. Another word.

"Because you said you would change my life."

"And did I?"

"Yes," He grabs my hand. "Yes you did."

Ok so did I get married? date?? At some point? It had to do with the mansion I was running out of before the wind hit me. That mansion had to have had something to do with all of my memories. The previous four years of my life from 18-22 had to have been significant. There was no way I would've had my memory wiped if it wasn't.

But did I really want to know about the past??? I already know that I'm the original author of the novel anyway. I'm too tired for that I'll map it out another day.

Haah if only life were easier...

Something strikes me that night.
