As I was heading to the village, I noticed their was smoke from village. As I get closer, I saw that the village was under a raid.
'Alright, let's see... Hmm. There are 20 of them and are on horses.'
Each one was wearing a white iron armour, carrying iron swords. They certainly not are bandits or village hunters(raiders).
They were having a seal on chest plates of the armour. That seal was the sign of Lufi Empire, so that means that they all are knights from Lufi Empire. From what I have came to understand, the relationship between the Kingdom of Renhard and the Lufi Empire are not much good. I often heard that Lufi Empire is constantly trying to enter Renhard's territory and since this village is on the border of the Kingdom, Lufi Empire will obviously try to take over the control on this village for a base, though this village is not that big or populated. Their were around 30-40 people in this village including men, women and children.
'Well, what should I do?... Shall I save the village, now? Nah. That's probably not my job though. It's not like I have any special relationship with this village. All is that I was living their and that's it... Well I can live wherever I want but I thought it would be convenient if I live around people so I can get necessary things.'
As I was lost in thoughts, I heard an explosion.
'Crap, first they put the whole village on fire and now they are using explosives. Wait... WAIT!?! That was my house. They blow it. Seriously they blow it up.'
The roof of my house was flying as I noticed there were several bodies on the ground. The whole village was in blood bath. Soldiers of Lufi killed each and every villager. Men, women and even the elders and children. Everyone was dead in this village.
Their I saw a corpse of a little girl lying on the ground, holding flowers in her hands. She was a girl who give me flower in the morning. She certainly like them huh.
'What was her name again... Hah, I didn't even remember her name.'
I laughed at myself as I remember that there was a thing I left in my house, which is not a house anymore. A very important thing.
I start walking towards the village, in my no more house's direction. Soldiers noticed me. One of them shouted.
"Oye, their is still one alive over there. Hurry and finish him then we will celebrate."
The way he spoke, he was their captain for sure. He was bald and have a brown beard and from his appearance he was around 40s.
Well I particularly don't want to interfere in the business of humans, but if one tries to attack me, I cannot tolerate that. Specially, when I have nothing to do with them. But still I thought of giving it a try so I spoke up.
"See, I have something important that I forgot here, so let me take it. I promise I will leave after that and cause you no trouble."
Baldy chuckled at my appeal and said.
"Sorry kid, today is your unlucky day. Unfortunately, you have to die here, that are the orders given to us. So do enjoy your end moments and be sure to ask Gods for your last wish.
'My last wish form Gods huh... Well it's too soon for that.'
I thought.
A knight on horse pulled his sword out from scabbard, rushed towards me.
'Mortals really are pathetic. They kill each other for their benefits doesn't matter whether they are men or women, elders or children.'
As knight started to approach me, I took my stance. Other knight laughed at me but ignored them, as they were next.
I muttered.
"Seems like I have no choice... Alright then I wouldn't hesitate anymore."
Knight's swing come swinging towards me, piercing the air. Just as sword was about to hit me, I bend backward and dodged it. Sword swing right from the front of my face. Just as horse pass me, I quickly took my position and moved towards the head of the knight on the horse and kicked him right on the back of his neck. He went flying, crashed into a wall and lost his consciousness. This occur just in a moment...in a blink of an eye the man was defeated.
