An hour later, there's a different Halloween party going on at another part of the town, hosted by one of Cleave Hills Highschool's football jocks. It is a huge house with lots of rooms, a pool and three different lawns.
ELENA: This party is awesome! I'm glad we're here. (Talking to Zoey while sitting on the grass with her brothers, drinking)
ZOEY: Tell me about it! I can't wait to be in high school.
ERIC: Why the rush? So you'd get to party more often?
ELENA: Yes!
ERIC: Do you think all freshmen got invited to this party?
ELENA: Uhm, I thought this was supposed to be a Halloween party for our school.
ERIC: Yes, it is. But it's not hosted by our school therefore, not everyone gets an invite.
ELENA: So how come we're here? And we aren't even freshmen yet.
ERIC: You've got Elvis to thank for that. He's close friends with the football team's QB and team captain. And because of that, most of the perks he benefits, we get to benefit from them too.
ELENA: Oh, I see... so Elvis is already rolling in the big leagues, huh?
ELVIS: Something like that. (He laughs)
ZOEY: Well. I'd rather cling to Elvis in order to gain party favors than stay in Cleave Hills Middle where we're treated like kids.
ELENA: Zoey's right, I'm really sick of the school. I wish our classes would catch fire again like it happened before so that we'd be transferred to CHHS again.
Eric and Elvis share a laugh.
ELVIS: Don't get ahead of yourselves, first semester is almost over, you know? Soon, you'd be in your freshman year.
"Sup" A guy approaches them. He's dressed in an all-black casual suit and has a scary mask on. "I noticed the werewolf in your midst, that's why I came here. Nice look, Elvis"
ELVIS: Thanks. (Wondering who's behind the mask)
"I guess the dude in zombie costume looking at me is Eric"
ERIC: Yeah. Sick mask, Gus.
GUSTAVO: Thanks. (He chuckles, taking off the mask to show his face) Someone finally figured out.
ELVIS: I knew it was you all along! I just got confused when you tried to change your voice. (Checking out his costume briefly) So who or what did you dress up as?
GUSTAVO: I dunno, you can just call it 'Beast'. The zombie thing is cool, by the way. But please don't eat my brain.
ERIC: I would if you had one.
ELVIS: Burnnnnn!
GUSTAVO: Damn, bro. That hurts!
ERIC: Sorry. (He chuckles)
GUSTAVO: That really really hur— (He pauses to look at the girls with Elvis and Eric). Can someone tell these girls to stop laughing? Who are they, by the way? Harley Quinn and Medusa. Hold on a sec... why does Harley look like your sister?
ELENA: That's because I AM his sister. You're quite good with faces. The girl with the snakes on her head is my friend.
ZOEY: I'm Zoey.
GUSTAVO: And I'm Gus. Gotta admit, this Medusa costume is kinda creepy. (Taking a closer look at the fake snakes on her head)
ERIC: I'd advise you stop looking. Remember what happens when you look at Medusa?
GUSTAVO: Shit! I almost forgot. (Shutting his eyes and turning away immediately, Zoey laughs)
Minutes later.
ELVIS: Gus, have you seen Gwen?
GUSTAVO: Err... I doubt if she came.
ERIC: Why's Elvis asking about Gwen? (In his mind)
ELENA: Eric! Guess what.
ERIC: What?
ELENA: I just bumped into Beverly. She dressed up as a zombie... just like you!
ERIC: Oh, nice...
ELENA: Come with me, I need to take pics of you both. Oh my geez, hurry! (Dragging him)
GUSTAVO: Good thing he's gone, he shouldn't find out just yet. (In is mind, watching Eric and Elena leave). Dude, you haven't given me feedback on... you know. (Winking at Elvis)
ELVIS: Haha... we had coffee together yesterday evening at Dalton's cafe.
GUSTAVO: Great, man. Really great. First step: you made her like you. Second step: you took her on a date. And now for the third step... you need a second date.
ELVIS: I was also thinking the same thing.
GUSTAVO: After making her crave your attention after the first date, the second date is the point where you two get to bond more and then you win her over, depending on how good you are with words.
ELVIS: I'm game. (Stroking his chin)
GUSTAVO: That's the spirit. Take her to Rotman valley after school on Monday. The environment there is serene. I can vouch for a 98% chance that you'd get to kiss her. Trust me, you'll love it.
ELVIS: Man, thanks a lot. I owe you one.
GUSTAVO: Of course you do. (He pauses and looks around briefly before continuing). Have you told Eric anything about Gwen yet?
ELVIS: Uhm, Nope. It's just been escaping my mind. But as soon as he returns with Elena, I'm telling him right away.
GUSTAVO: Don't.
ELVIS: Why not?
GUSTAVO: Err... you see... yeah, let it be a surprise. Let your brother know only when you've gotten the girl.
ELVIS: Is that a good idea?
GUSTAVO: Have I ever given you a bad one?
ELVIS: Nope, not at all.
GUSTAVO: Besides, who doesn't like surprises?
ELVIS: I guess you're right. I'll keep it to myself for the time being. (Gulping down his cup of Smirnoff ice).
10pm, Evans High School.
Bonnie, Anderson and Dylan sneak into the school premises, walking through the hallway, to be away from the party to avoid the blasting noise for a bit.
ANDERSON: Hey, Bee... Dylan and I were just talking about putting together a music band. I mentioned it to you earlier, remember?
BONNIE: Yeah. We need instruments, money and... support. Three basic things if we're really serious about pulling this off.
ANDERSON: Got that figured out.
DYLAN: So what's the plan, boss?
ANDERSON: Boss? We ain't even an official band yet and you're already out here dishing out positions. (Dylan chuckles). Well, Bonnie's got a guitar, I've got one also, and a keyboard too. But I'll need you to help us search for some cool new instruments.
DYLAN: Count on me. Let's start with my drum set, haven't used it in like a year.
ANDERSON: A keyboard, guitars and drum set available, looks like our facilities are already coming together. we've got the basics and that's a great start. As for the funding, it's one me.
DYLAN: And our support?
ANDERSON: Adrian and Louis would help with that. Louis is a great prep, he mixes freely with the crowd better than I do. He's the life of the party and the best person to help us gain fans quickly. And Adrian's got connections with the student governors.
DYLAN: Cool...
ANDERSON: So you see, in no time our band would be recognized.
DYLAN: Way to go, boss.
BONNIE: I've been listening to your plan but I'm still yet to hear the part where my usefulness comes in. I wanna help too.
ANDERSON: Don't worry, Bee. We've got everything covered. All we need is your beautiful voice. (Kissing her cheek, she smiles)
DYLAN: I guess we're done here. I'd better leave you guys to eat each other. I'm going back to the party. Got a bottle of liquor to deal with... and some hot boys. (Winking at them and walking away is his lizard man costume)
BONNIE: Hot boys? Don't tell me he's...
ANDERSON: Yeah. Found out two days ago.
BONNIE: Who would have thought? (She laughs, wrapping her arms around Anderson)
