Chapter 53 - Halloween 3

10:17pm, Cleave Hills High School's Halloween party.

The party is still on, music still blasting, peeps still dancing, some are already drunk to stupor while some are pretending to be... all for fun. Others are making out as usual.

ZOEY: Best... party... ever... (Losing her balance and falling to the ground while the rest of the guys laugh at her)

ELENA: Don't say that just yet, there are lots and lots of parties to come. (Helping her get up)

ZOEY: Tell me about it. It's gonna be fabulous... like fantastic... I mean, it would be fab-tastic. Haha... that's the word I was looking for. (Falling again)

ELENA: Zoey Lance! Get hold of yourself. The drink you had doesn't even contain up to 10% alcohol and you're acting this way. (Narrowing her brows)

ZOEY: Don't just stand there and scold me. Gimme a hand here. Come on, help me up. (Stretching out her hand)

ELENA: No way, I'm not helping you up. (Laughing at her)

Meanwhile...

ERIC: Are you sure that's the reason?

ELVIS: Yeah, told you already. She just seems like the party type to me that's why I asked Gus about her.

ERIC: Okay.

ELVIS: And why are you so concerned?

ERIC: If I tell Elvis now, he'd tease me. Maybe later. (In his mind)

ELVIS: Lost in thought? Cat got your tongue? (Wondering why he's speechless)

ERIC: Oh, sorry.. ermm... nothing. Just being inquisitive.

ELVIS: Alright. By the way, you spent quite a long time with Beverly when Elena called you earlier.

ERIC: She was just excited to see someone else dressed up as a zombie so we took lots of pictures and got talking a little.

ELVIS: You two getting along already? I'm proud of you, twin brother. (He teases, patting him on the shoulder)

ERIC: Not now, man. (Laughing)

ELVIS: You never can tell, it could just... (He freezes all of a sudden)

ERIC: Something wrong? (Noticing the change in his expression)

ELVIS: I dunno, I just... Something flashed through my memory right now.

ERIC: What are you talking about?

ELVIS: I just had a mental picture of something... Something strange.

ERIC: What did you see?

ELVIS: It was kinda blurry but I saw something like a human figure hanging upside down. I dunno why it's coming to my mind but what do you think it means?

ERIC: If you ask me, I'd say you just had a vision. Why would someone be hanging upside down though? Hanging from what?

ELVIS: Dunno. Looks like the person was tied up or something.

ERIC: Does that imply death? Perhaps someone's dead... or about to die?

ELVIS: Creepy. (Taking a deep breath)

Almost midnight, Evans High School's Halloween party.

"Hey, lads. Nice costumes" A young lady walks up to Carl and Octavio who are dressed up as green goblin and Spider-Man respectively.

CARL & OCTAVIO: Thanks.

"You two feel like talking?"

CARL: Well, (Glancing at Octavio and back at the lady). I guess a little chat wouldn't hurt.

OCTAVIO: Why are you here? You're not a student here and you're obviously not a teenager.

CARL: Be nice. Like you said, she's obviously not a teenager, maybe she's not here to party but for something else.

"He's right. I'm just here to... Err... I'm here for... yeah! Drinks. I supplied the drinks at this party"

OCTAVIO: Really?

"I'm Lisa, by the way"

CARL: Cool. I'm Carl, and he's Octavio.

OCTAVIO: Dude, I can speak for myself. (Elbowing him)

LISA: Haha, nice to meet you boys.

OCTAVIO: You said you wanted to talk.

LISA: I just wanna know you guys more and probably...

CARL: Tavio, Lisa, I'll be back in a jiffy. That's some fresh barbecue over there. Lemme go grab us some steak.

OCTAVIO: Nice, I want mine with extra chili.

CARL: What about you, Lisa?

LISA: No thanks, I'm vegan.

CARL: Okay, I'll be right back!

LISA: This should be the perfect opportunity. I need just one teenager. (In her mind)

OCTAVIO: Miss, you were telling me something.

LISA: Oh, yeah. Err... come with me, there's something I'd like to show you. (Holding him gently by the arm).

OCTAVIO: And what's that? (Resisting)

LISA: Follow me, would you? It's a surprise.

OCTAVIO: A surprise? At midnight? Not weird at all. (He chuckles). But let's go, you've got me anxious already. (Going with her, they leave the party scene and sneak into the high school)
