Same night, the neighbor's place.
The Holmes.
Bonnie is in her room trying to get some rest, her brother is there with her, overstaying his welcome by hurting her ears with unnecessary basketball tales. He knows she's never interested in his jock talks but he enjoys doing it just to annoy her.
In the moment, she begins to hear the same faint piano sound she heard the previous night. She's enchanted by the rhythm, closing her eyes and being completely inattentive to her brother's talk. He notices she's no longer listening to him so he takes out one pair of his smelly socks, holding it close to her nose for her to catch the nice scent. She kicks him out of the room, irritated. She continues to listen to the piano sound for a couple more minutes before it ceases. She smiles like her ears have been satisfied, wrapping herself up in her blanket.
Back at the Mance's place.
Elvis spots his brother's room door left ajar, he takes a peep and sees Eric sitting in front of his piano but not playing it. Elvis naughtily decides to ruin his brother's peace by dashing to his own room, fetching his football, rushing back to Eric's room and swinging the ball at him, it strikes Eric in the head.
"Ten points!" Elvis yells, laughing really loud to the hearing of Bonnie, their neighbor. Eric still holding his head from the ball strike lunges at Elvis, grabs him by the collar of his pyjamas and they engage each other in play-fight.
When their bromance squabble quiets down, they sit on Eric's bed, a little exhausted. Elvis brings up the topic regarding the whole football tryouts embarrassment that happened earlier.
ELVIS: Everyday can't be your lucky day. You screw up, you get ridiculed. It's high school, students make a joke of every damn thing.
ERIC: I know that. The thing is...
ELVIS: It's my fault, urging you to try out for the team. I take full responsibility for what happened to you.
Eric smiles, changing the topic when Elena barges into the room without knocking, she does that every time. Joining her brothers on the bed, she apologizes to Eric on behalf of Zoey, telling him that Zoey would like to talk to him the following day. He initially refuses but eventually succumbs to her persuasion. After that, they have a little sibling talk, sort of, catching up on each person's experience in their new school.
