Over the next couple of weeks, I maintained my physical training schedule and sometimes Guy would join me if our school times overlapped. At the end of every day, before I went home, I would take a longer path home and would walk right, going past the correctional facilities and the further past the Hyuga compounds, sticking to the wall until I reached the training grounds where the Naka River flowed. I would go fishing and hunting any animals every afternoon to build up my chakra points. Usually, I'd make around 20 chakra on a good day and over 15 on a bad day. Fish gave out anywhere between 0.5-1 chakra depending on size, etc. but where I get most of my chakra from is hunting any animals around the forest area of the training ground.
I would then walk back towards the centre of the village and as I had managed to cement myself as a supplier to a BBQ shop, they'd pay me for my efforts and then I would walk home.
It was a win-win situation. And since my "cheat" meals were every two days, I'd stocked up on the amount of chakra I had available as I was always in excess. (If he uses 30 chakra for a meal every 2 days and gains 20 chakra every day, then he has 10chakra left at the end of day 2 for my readers who are bad at math xD).
My stats had shaped up nicely in these last few weeks,
Name: Raiden Ambrose
Race: Human
Age: 10
Bloodlines: None
Rank: High-Grade Academy Student
Strength: 35
Agility: 45
Fortitude: 27
...
Total Current Energy: 70 Chakra
Other Energies N/A
I could feel myself very soon reaching the threshold of becoming a fully-fledged Genin. Another thing I noticed was that I could exchange energy points for stat points but it was very inefficient, 5 energy for 1 stat point is kinda useless so I simply decided to stick to my breakfast every two days and training. My combat techniques had become even more refined after visiting the training grounds every day, especially my killing techniques. After stocking up on chakra, I had a plan in mind once I had 100 Chakra outside of that used for my meals.
My friendship with Might Guy got to the point that I'd met his father once when we were training, Might Dai who was exactly like he was in the anime. Firm yet a good person who goes on to train, arguably the strongest taijutsu master in history.

6 weeks passed and I'd finally built up enough chakra to continue on with my plan to get stronger. I concluded that I need something that will focus on physical abilities as I currently don't have chakra to waste. Even though I'd learned a few Offensive Jutsu I realised that the weakest one I knew cost 3 Chakra to execute. Sure I could probably gain that back after one night of working but until I start taking missions, I'm not taking that risk...
On the interface was the image of my body, I was planning on giving myself an ability I'd always thought was underrated but very useful. Inosuke Hashibara's Breath of the Beast. Additionally, with my experience hunting, I thought that this was a very good addition. This breathing focused and improved on the sense of touch which is very different from most sensory jutsu in this world which are mainly occular. I remember that Inosuke managed to scan an entire mountain for demons once which only goes to show how versatile and unpredictable this fighting style is. Imagine how strong it could become if it was used in conjunction with e.g. the Zoldyck's secret Techniques or wolverine's healing factor. Just thinking about the future possibilities of how my abilities could be used had me revelling in excitement.
A moment later I'd completely drawn out a book with the title "How to Learn Beast Breathing" on it.
[A book that transfers knowledge of beast breathing once opened. Single-Use. Once read, this book will increase combat efficiency when in a biodiverse habitat by 25% and increases the rate of physical training in said areas by 25% permanently.]
Soon after a pop-up appeared asking me to confirm whether I wanted to spend 110 Chakra. Goddamnit, that's cutting into my meal costs. Fine, let's redefine it...

[Please Confirm purchase of 100Chakra, Y/N]
"Confirm Purchase" I whispered before a book materialised in front of me. I was currently in the forest as I had a few hours left before I had to go home and had just finished fishing. I breathed in deeply before opening the book and felt a large amount of information appearing in my mind.
The Beast Breathing Style makes use of specific and concentrated breath patterns, which increases the user's lung capacity and the amount of oxygen in the blood. This increase of oxygen allows the user to enhance their physical abilities and mental concentration, allowing them to fight on par with Demons in the original series, whose physical prowess surpasses that of the average human.
Once trained to a certain degree, focused breathing is also capable of clotting wounds from severe injuries and slowing down the circulation of poison in the bloodstream. The Beast Breathing Style makes use of the unpredictability of beasts and what I learned is that Inosuke only focused on the movements of wild boars mainly. Whereas I could alter the technique slightly to better suit me. I've been thinking of the type of weapon I want in this world...And I want a badass Great Axe. Similar to Great Axe Rhitta. If Inosuke's Beast Breathing Style focused on Boar movements then mine would use larger swings and I'd probably say it focuses on irregular, sudden, bear-like movements.
(AN: Bear's are some speedy mofos when they hunt)
I waltzed into the forest and felt a significant improvement in my focus. Grinning slightly, I started practising these sets of breathing patterns and could feel my body grow stronger with each breath...
Since I didn't have any swords, all I had with me at the time were large kitchen knives from home. After all, my father never really checks the kitchen.
....
It had been nearly another week since Raiden had started practising his Beast Breathing Style, unfortunately, an academy student can't buy a great axe without anyone noticing so he had to stick to the knives. However, one thing he did was to customise his larger knives by causing them to be jagged.
Clash!
Raiden was now holding two larger than normal knives in his hand and was currently in a fight with a large Black Bear that he had scouted out. He deeply inhales before exhaling, releasing a large amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The bear was in really bad shape in comparison to Raiden. It had cuts and lacerations that seemed pretty deep all over its body whereas Raiden only had a large cut on his shoulder where the bear managed to scratch him once.
"Alright, time to end this..." He whispered before suddenly jumping towards the bear. He thrust the blades with an inwards grip and pierced both sides of the bear's neck. Due to the length of the blades, he could feel them connecting inside the bear's neck.
'First Fang: Bridge Pierce' He had managed to learn the first 2 techniques and he had even created his knife technique. It was called Bridge as the blades pierce through opposite sides of the neck and the tips of the blades connect inside the throat of the opponent, forming a platform.
'Heh, that was a success but now I wonder...do you think they can Barbecue Bear?!' Raiden thought in distress, 'Surely, it's okay. After all, people on Earth used to eat Bear meat if it was properly maintained and cleaned, processed etc. so I'm sure it's fine'.
...
Walking out of the BBQ shop, I had been paid handsomely for the meat and fish that I had caught and I gained an even larger amount of Chakra from the bear as it was quite large.

On my way home, I saw a young girl sniffling and crying as I turned the corner of the street that we live on. Damn, this world doesn't give any respite to even kids these days. I sighed to myself and continued, at the end of the day, a little kid crying has nothing to do with me. Soon after, I reached home and crashed into my bed.
"Sigh, today's been such a drag..."
