My Little One
Maya promised them, she would to do any kind of job they asked her to. It was this part where she got the biggest lesson of her life. One of her rich friend asked her to go and give an interview for the Carter Corporations.
Carters didn't have a single business, they owned many small and big companies under them. It was the richest and World's no.1 leading Corporation. They had their branches spread all over the globe.
They had their main headquarters located in New York, United States. It was also the one where Maya had to go for her interview instead of her friend.
Even if Maya had ignored her studies, she was gifted with intelligent memorising brain skills. Yet she couldn't make the best of it as during her college time, she would often go to late night parties and come back to her dorm just before the lights were shut off. She would directly go and sleep on her bed with a hangover.
Next day, she would wake up with grave headaches. This had become a habit for her, she would go to parties and bunk her classes.
She got so invested in living her life as a rich girl that she lost her goals and manners in the way. Those classes and lectures didn't hold any value to her.
Since she never studied or revised, even her intelligent brain can't help her.
Her brain doesn't have psychic or magical powers that it would grasp everything on its own if her own self is not giving any importance to her studies.
Why would her brain do that?
After she barely passed barely with any marks, saw her so called rich friends started to making fun of and called her with stupid names.
Maya's brain yelled at her to open her closed eyes and see the truth. Her brain had always tried to give her warnings yet she would retort with it.
At last her brain stopped giving her any warning signs and let her do what she wanted to.
Maya wasn't following her heart desires. She was trying to make her unrealistic and unreasonable dreams come true.
If she had worked smarter and not acted like an ignorant human being she didn't have to go through everything.
As she had promised, she went to give the interview with a mask on her face. Her friend had put a condition that Maya's identity while she got interviewed should remain a deep and hidden secret among them all.
Maya didn't think deeply and accepted it. She passed the interview and got the job.
Later her friend told her that the job wasn't for her, instead her friend would go and work there while she would be her assistant.
Yet in truth Maya had to do all her and also her friend's work. She even had to do other's working and measly office chores like brewing coffee for everyone, print or scan important documents. It was hard for her but she managed it. She thought that her friends would start to treat her in a better way.
Her thoughts were proven wrong when she heard them.
"Look at that low life."
"Tanya, you really trapped her for good."
"I know Kira, she was better looking than me so Mark had chosen her for his date at the Prom."
"Maya must have seduced him. Why else he would choose to go with her? You had beauty and brains and money. A triple combo. The only reasonable explanation to why Mark went with her is just satisfying his manly needs."
"Are you sure Kira?"
"Don't you trust your best friend? You forgot the time? When he used to follow you like a bee attracted to a beautiful flower."

His eyes opened before the alarm rang, he turned to it and just after the first ring he put it off. He glided out of his blanket and padded to his bathroom.
He took a quick shower and brushed his teeth. He came out and wore the clothes that were set down on his bed. He combed his silky and smooth midnight blue hair that resembled a dark night when the sky was full of stars with no white clouds. His somewhat wet hair fell over his forehead, it added an attractive charm to his already handsome face.
He put on his Rolex watch and cufflinks. Those cufflinks had a sophisticated detailed design. They had small navy blue diamonds embedded in them. He wore his black formal shoes and moved out of his room.
A delicious aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled his nose. It wasn't alone.
Tasty and delicious food was served on the table even before he reached. He sat on his chair and silently began to eat his homemade breakfast. The Head Maid stood by his side alarmly. The Head Maid was a 70 years old lady almost the same age as his grandmother. She had been babysitting his family since his grandmother was a little baby and her name was Bella Collins.
Bella was his grandma's caretaker and a close friend. Bella's mother used to be the Head Chef at his grandma's time. While her mother worked, Bella and his grandma would play and have fun. They enjoyed each other's company. Bella was older than his grandma so she protected and cared for his grandma in the same way an elder sister does to her younger sister.
His grandma had asked her to go and take care of him. Since he told her that he would be moving out of his parents home and living alone here. His grandma and mother got so worried for him that they even planned to move with him.
In the end with the help of his father and grandpa also his top notch persuasive skills. He had them agree to his plans.
"Wife and mom, don't worry or overthink about him. Your little boy has grown up into a handsome man, my genes sure did their work perfectly." His dad proudly smirked
For which his father got a jab at his stomach by his mother while his grandma giggled.
His grandpa tenderly held his grandma's weak and aged hands.
When his grandma turned and put both of her warm hands on the cold skin of his face. He cupped them with his cold hands.
"My little one grew up so quickly but let me engrave this in your brain that for me, your grandma, you will always be my little one." Tears rushed out his grandma's eyes.
"You rascal, idiot, stupid grandson, shame on you!! How dare you make my wife cry? Even I, as her husband, never let her cry in sadness and here you are!!!?" His grandpa roared at his grandson when he saw his dear and lovely wife shedding tears.
