Chapter 92 - Chapter 90 Higher Than Any Mountain

The astounding sight of an airship rising from under the ground. Like a great beast looking to devour her, Leinea watched as the airship arose before her. From beside her Lanthim still bore a smile, the continuing surprise of his wife was in a way what he had hoped for. While bringing her out to the airship yards was something he had wished to avoid for as long as possible. The potential loss of technological deterrence over other clans was not desirable. That being said having things harmonious in the family had become more problematic since he returned to a more active lifestyle.

"Master everyone is waiting." [Taiach]

Nodding to what his subordinate stated Lanthim slowly moved forward towards the hole the airship came out of. Leinea moved with her husband but did not let herself be pulled away from the flying ship. It was only when she realized that the group had come closer together that she pulled her eyes away.

To her left a small pillar rose with a small orb on its top. This item looked like the portal activation stands. That were used to operate the portals. Watching as one of the group placed their hand on the orb activating it. Suddenly the ground underneath her softly descended into the earth.

Confused as to what was happening Leinea clung to Lanthim as they continued to descend. From her current location, the entire area looked like a beehive of activity.

"Matriarch?" (Taiach)

Hearing a voice behind her, Leinea turned to see the foreman Taiach who wore a broad smile. with several people watching her excitedly looking about. Leinea now red faced turned to Lanthim.

" How large is this facility? It looks to go on forever." (Leinea)

" Fifteen kilometres in length four in width. From the start of production to the end takes six weeks to build four ships together." (Taiach)

Listening to the Foreman's report Leinea felt as if the platform she stood upon seace moving. It was Lanthim softly leading her into the work area that she began to see more.

Looking at the size of the different parts of each ship. Moving ever forward the immensity of the operation was staggering.

Long ago when she was a child Leinea had gone with her father. To visit a subordinate clan who was at the time building ships for freight use. Remembering that day the ships were not half the size of one of these.

" If so many are completed with such regularity. Why are only one hundred and eleven ships in registry with the clan?" (Leinea)

Just looking around she could see the enormity of the shipyards. But the idea that Lanthim was hiding more was not helpful.

" While the production of ships is high. The amount of in-service vessels is limited. The registered numbers include these that are under construction." (Taiach)

Nodding with a still unsatisfied stare at her husband. Leinea looked at some documents that were immediately given to her. As Taiach had said there were no new orders for ships by the clan.

" If this is the case what shall all these men do for work?" (Leinea)

With such a big operation, what would be done for so many family's when all the work dried up?

" While production of our ships is not continuous. We do a great deal of contract shipbuilding for clients that are willing to pay." (Lanthim)

Turning her attention from the paperwork Leinea looked at Lanthim with amazement. The idea of selling ships to other clans was a stretch. Most were fierce in protecting their assets and Territory. So buying anything from outside the clan's means was unheard of. To her knowledge only when given as a gift by a subordinate clan would such a thing happen.

" You would be surprised by the number of people who would excuse a ship purchase away." (Taiach)

A small frown formed as Leinea looked on. The thought of anyone giving up their dignity for a ship was not likely in her mind.

Watching as a massive piece of haul travelled from one end of the line to the other. Leinea felt Lanthim gently moving her.

"There is something I brought you here to see. (Lanthim)

For a moment she was confused.

'What else could there be?' {Leinea}

Moving slowly towards what looked like a wall of metal. Leinea looked along the wall with her eye finding a man dressed like the rest. Standing next to what looked like another pedestal.

Looking to Lanthim expectantly all she could see in the moment was a small nod.

In the next moment, the wall slowly but loudly began to open. One section going upward the other down.

Clinging onto Lanthim's arm having been caught completely off guard. Leinea walked slowly into the new area.

" I thought it would be best to travel ad grandly as possible." (Lanthim)

Gesturing proudly towards the ships before her. Lanthim calmly moved with Leinea who at present could only stare in disbelief.

Five ships stood proud before her. four she could see were warships. with the fifth being smaller but did not lose its aggressive air.

Allowing their hands to separate Leinea continued forward towards the smallest ship.

It looked sleek with fine curves that made the ship look more like a boat that belonged on the water than in the air. On both sides was embossed the Drathalkin clan crest in bright gold. As far as she could see the workmanship was excellent.

'This is a ship I can travel in?' {Leinea}

-Lanthim's Estate-

Sitting alone having been left behind, Mynrea continued to read the documents. She had been reading before Lanthim and Leinea left.

Acting as an advisor and secretary for Leinea. The older dragon would pour over daily piles of documents.

At first, she had thought that the amount of work would be too great for Leinea to do alone. In truth this thinking was correct but to the extent that Mynrea had thought. When it came to large-scale clan events. Such as balls and other social gatherings, Leinea had no experience in how to host such large events. Being an attendee at a party was the extent of her understanding.

This being the case no large events had been hosted by the Drathalkin clan since its formation. This did not mean that representatives of subordinate clans did not come and go. Paying homage to one's superiors was a must. So Leinea would entertain these representatives individually and not in big groups.

Being the one in charge had some benefits. It had been weeks since the last representative had come to visit. The subordinate clans now sat quietly and stewed over their new condition. Which suited Mynrea pretty well considering all the gifts that were brought. Had been placed in a storage area in Leinea's Territory. Stored in a way that she could get to an Item when she wished.

" Leinea will have to choose some articles when the clan moves to the dragon lands. Giving face is important after all." (Mynrea)

Speaking to no one Mynrea turn her attention from the documents to the view of the colossal forest surrounding the estate. This place had become her home where she had started a new life. Children would soon come filling the air with laughter and tears. Having lived a long life she had given birth to many offspring. Only now she felt excitement about the coming future.

It was in the instant of that thought that Leinea returned in a flash without Lanthim.

" Well, that was quick. I thought things would take longer than a few minutes." (Mynrea)

For a moment Leinea said nothing she seemed to still be where ever she had been previously. Until with a blink, she realized the sudden change.

" Ha, that went better than I could have ever hoped for." (Leinea)

Sitting on a chair directly behind her the young dragonness seemed satisfied with whatever Lanthim had shown her.

" So what do you feel about going to the dragon lands after seeing what he showed you?" (Mynrea)

Looking directly into Leinea's eyes Mynrea could see plans were being made.

" We shall fly higher than any mountain." (Leinea)
