Chapter 19 - E4 C3 Through the Fire and The Flames

Taking a drag from her cigarette as she pushed Carter over the railing sending him rocketing down towards the ground. Lilac hopped over, diving after him. Eventually catching up to him as they fell. Grabbing onto him just mere feet before he were to go splat.

Activating her semblance on him with what little she had left of her aura. She slowed both of their falls to a point they landed safely on the ground. With no more injuries to tote.

"Are you crazy?!" Carter yelled in complaint. Glaring up at Lilac, who just took another drag of her cigarette continuing to participate in the hobby she was best at. Hot girl stuff.

"We got away from the crazy angry lady and didn't get hurt further. I think this batch of crazy was well used" Lilac expelled a breath of smoke smiling. As the factory behind her was further consumed by the fires and remnant explosions she herself was responsible for causing.

"....That's a fair point." Carter said after a while standing dusting himself off, Looking at the factory as it was further engulfed by flames. "Though I do wonder. Where are Loki and the other girl?" Not that Carter should care about the other two. But he wasn't willing to leave the bad taste in his mouth knowing he let them die. Even if he were on the last vestiges of his own capabilities.

Looking down at his hand. He tested out his aura. Which barely flickered to life. Showing that he was truly only good for one more hit. And depending on who he was up against. It could be the last hit he took. Man this day just kept getting crazier and crazier.

Upon the mentioning of Loki. Lilac sobered up a bit from her Mini victory, realizing that the two hadn't been able to catch up to them. Maybe they had made it out the front? That was the only reasonable explanation that popped up in her mind. Before the highly unreasonable one took centre stage. Maybe the explosions she had caused had harmed him. Or worse.

Starting to feel sick to her stomach. She began to make her way back towards the Factory. Only to feel Carters firm grasp on her arm stopping her. "What do you think you are doing?" He questioned looking at her like she was insane.

"I am going back in there for Loki and fire girl" Lilac responded simply as she tried to pull away from Carter.

"Lilac. If you go back in there, at the state you are currently in. There is no guarantee you will be walking out of there with anyone with you. Especially with your aura as low as it is. You wouldn't be walking out of there."

She knew he was right. But she couldn't just stand by and do nothing while they suffered the consequences of something she was responsible for starting. She just hoped that they made it out alive.

She hoped that he made it out alive.

Kersay was almost out of the quickly burning down factory, her hands caked in soot. Her body drenched in sweat. As she paused a handful of feet away from what she was going to use as an exit. But deep down. Something ate at her. Was she really going to let others die, while she ran away?

It had been something she had done in the past, and not having worried about the consequences of. But...These people were wanting to be huntsmen and huntresses. Who wanted to make change in the world, and protect people. Was she really that selfish that she'd sacrifice their lives just for her survival?

At least. She didn't used to be. But that was far before she became what she was now.

And yet. She couldn't fight the overwhelming feeling that all but washed over her. Something she hadn't felt in a long time. Guilt.

Biting her lip she tried to fight the feeling. But no matter what she did to rationalize what she did as being right. It still felt wrong on several levels. Grinding her teeth in aggravation. Kersay spun around and proceeded to go back deeper into the further burning down building that was the factory. Hoping to not get caught in the hungry inferno.

Ripping off part of her shirt. She'd tie it around her mouth, to use it to at least shield her lungs from the black chemical filled smoke that filled the air around her. If she was smart she'd crawl through the factory, where the air was much more safe to breathe. But if she did that. the building would be ashes on the ground before she even made it anywhere near one of the three teenagers who were in the building with her.

So she opted for the second best thing she could think of doing. Which was running through the burning down factory. And try not to die in the process. A completely full proof plan that couldn't go wrong in anyway. Except for when it did. Almost immediately.

As pieces of the building. From several feet up began to hurdle down from the ground turning the death trap she was running through. Into even more of a death trap. One she was sure no one would be able to survive.

Running down the main hall of the building. She entered a room that was barely being held up by the support beams. And those were close to giving way as the flames grew more and more intense. The state of the room was much worse than the rest of the factory combined. This must have been where all of the explosions originated from.

And being encurculated by flames and crumbling factory alike. Was the unconcious and most likely dead body of Loki. Her breath catching at the sight of a pool of liquid that was slowly growing around his body. She quickly realized that someone had attacked him.

Running over to him. She decided to check his pulse before comitting to using what remains of her energy to lift him from the ground. Placing two fingers against his neck. She felt the faintest heartbeat coming from him. It was just enough for her to commit to saving his life.

Lifting him up with a good deal of struggle. He looked heavier than he did. Which was something she found quite surprising. Just what was he made of?

Lifting his body until she could barely drag his body through the factory. Support beams fell closing off the path behind her. Meaning that she could only go forward, and deeper into the building. She hated it. But it was the only path forward. And she had to take it. Because if she didn't. They would die. And she couldn't afford that. Not at all.
