Lilac smiled at Loki as he sat next to him. Loki on the other hand paid her no mind as he pulled out a notebook and a folder filled to the brim with paperwork.
Was he seriously trying to catch up on the month of classes that he'd missed?
Carter leaned over blinking staring at Loki, he almost seemed as if he were a completely different person. Though he was probably hiding certain parts of himself for the sake of seeming somewhat normal. It was also amazing how well he had pulled through recovering after the events of the factory.
"Okay students, on today's agenda you will all be running through combat drills, I know we have only been doing minor exorcise but that was to strengthen your cores, and get you all adjusted to using your semblances on a dime. Today however it us up to all of you to figure out how to use them in the heat of a battle without much time to think. Trust your instincts and you may have a chance of winning" Professor Goodwitch spoke earning everyone's attention. "Today we will be doing one on one combat. The only one exempt from today's events will be Loki as he is still recovering from his injuries."
It was in that moment that one of the students raised their hand. It was the one with mango colored hair. "Excuse me professor."
"Yes Mango?" Goodwitch asked looking up at the student.
"How does he hope to become a good huntsman if he can't fight with injuries?" The young man questioned in a cocky tone. "If he can't fight while hurt, it is obvious he doesn't belong here."
Those words as they were spoken earned the ire of Carter. Who's twisted over almost immediately upon hearing the words spoken.
If anyone were to know what Loki was capable of it would hands down be the people on his team. Especially Kersay. Who sat there with a mix of a saddened look, and a surprised one.
"Mango you need to step off. You've been hounding us since day one for having a member of our team hospitalized. Especially with your horribly timed flirts!" Carter growled at the faunus, which clued Loki in on just how much of a nuisance Mango had truly been.
Looking over to his teammates he simply raised an eyebrow. "You three seriously let some bastard shit talk you all for almost an entire month and did nothing about it? Lilac not doing anything I understand, but you two don't take shit well. What kept you from doing it?"
It was Kersay who spoke up. "I did. Last thing we wanted was for there to be any bad blood between our team and his. But from what I could tell....it obviously didn't work out."
Letting out a tired breath Loki turned his attention to the young Faunus. From the looks it, it seemed as if he were a fox faunus of some kind. Smiling at that he closed his eyes for a moment letting out yet another tired breath going to respond.
"Look if I really wanted to spend the next handful of minutes kicking your ass around the room I would gladly do so, but as of right now. I would suggest backing off before I put your ass in the hospital myself." Loki spoke with a low growl directing his gaze at the young Faunus. Who seemed to finally take the hint.
"So cooool" The voice of a young girl with neon blue colored hair said in awe as she ogled in the direction of Loki. Seeming somewhat stars truck.
"Who is that?" Loki questioned in a low whisper.
"That is Luca, she is apart of team Clover. Spelt out like CLVR. Why, think she looks cute?" Carter would tease.
"No, just so I can place the name to the current person I will avoid. Though if you want her she's all yours." Loki muttered in a low tone before looking to Lilac. "How many more classes do we have to go after this one?"
Being drawn from her thoughts she looked at Loki almost as if she were in a daze, almost as if she were living a kind of dream. Quickly sobering up she blinked a few times.
"What was that?"
"How many classes do we have left today?" Loki repeated chopping her on her head a few times. "Remnant to idiot, you in there?"
"Yes I'm here! And this is the last class of the day." She muttered in response holding where she had been chopped. Great now she was going through withdrawals, now her head was starting to hurt even more. Just great.
That was something she definitely needed to fix and fast. Especially if she wanted to continue doing hot girl shit without ripping someone's head off. Taking a deep breath she'd rub her head a bit more fighting the urge to do anything stupid. At least with people around.
Loki placed an understanding hand on her shoulder silently urging her to wait the rest of the class out.
The rest of the class moved on without issue, and after a class full of combat training and exuastion the students were soon released by the bell. Granting them freedom, and the first thing Lilac did was go to the room of the dorms. The only place on campus she could handle her urges without being found out, or at least with minimum trouble being involved.
Sitting there along the ledge that overlooked the courtyard of Beacon Academy it was almost too real to believe that she was really a student here. Even though it could be boring at times there was enough excitement here to keep things constantly interesting.
Taking a puff of her cigarette she let out a relieved breath as her headache slowly began to subside.
"So, this is what you do after classes are all over with for the day?" Loki questioned making Lilac jump a bit from the fact she hadn't even heard him make it to the roof. After nearly a month of not being around him, she almost forgot what it was like having him around, and especially forgot how he moved.
"It allows me to wind down after everything." She'd say in response looking over to him, seeing the remnants of his injuries, especially now that he only wore his undershirt. "Sorry I didn't visit you as much as I wanted to."
"Don't be, I rather enjoyed the peace and quiet. Hated the hospital room and food." Loki spoke simply as his gaze lingered on the cigarette in her hand.
"So you're saying you didn't miss us?"
"I didn't miss the annoyance. No, I was better off without all of you worrying for no reason." Loki said in a low tone looking out into the same beautiful sights that Lilac had been looking out at.
"Loki, you almost died in that factory." Lilac said looking at him with a intense stare that showed him just how worried she had been for him.
But he didn't care, he didn't need anyone worrying about him especially not her. No one cared for him without having anything to gain from it.
"Almost dying and dying are two completely different things Lilac. Now come on, Carter is holding a team meeting and he wants everyone there." Loki said turning his back to her before beginning to walk back into the building pausing but for a moment. "Get some incense so you can burn it up here, don't want the faunus smelling the smoke."
With those words spoken Loki made his way back down into the building leaving Lilac alone on the roof once more. With her cigarette, and a small smile.
