Ryan woke up in different clothes surrounded with things he didn't recognize, the room was filled with books. He suddenly heard noise outside he went to see and it was a bunch of kid throwing all sorts of things at the house.
He was hit with rotten egg when he got out and they ran away, Ryan turned and saw a man in coffee brown robe like what he was wearing but the man's robe fitted perfectly.
"I see you are awake, sorry about them.", the man said opening the door for Ryan.
Ryan changed his robe and put on his military uniform which was neatly folded by a bed. The uniform had been washed and so was Ryan but the wound from the bullets were still visible.
" I am Helton, do you mind telling me your name?"
"I am Ryan", he spoke without noticing.
He realized a second later and was surprised
"I can talk", he said covering his mouth trying to suppress his loud thinking.
"Yes you can, it's really rare for a zombie to talk especially without a master. The only time I've seen a zombie is when his master talked through him. Well zombies can talk but only it's master and other zombies can make sense of it."
"I'm sorry for going on like that, I get excited about things like this. ", Helton said bowing down his head.
"it fine.", Ryan said looking around
"You literally live in a library"
"Well I love books that why I was a.....", Helton stopped talking suddenly.
He picked up the robe Ryan just took from the ground and tossed it into a ring a caught it at the other end. The smell of the rotten egg had disappeared, Ryan got near to have a look at the ring, it looked like a bowl of water at one end and the other end looked like nothing. At the first end it rippled outward towards the ring and the other end there was no ripple. Ryan was about to touch the ripple in the ring when Helton stopped him by holding his hand.
"What are you doing, do you have a death wish, you may be a dead but you are alive don't think any less of yourself."
"What is that?", Ryan said interrupting him.
"You haven't seen a Vaccum Ring before?", Helton asked surprised then ignored the feeling.
Helton put on a glove, he waved his hand and the ring moved made a fist and the ring shrank, then placed his hand beneath the ring and it fell right into the gloves.
" This and many magic items like this were used until Eternity declared them dangerous. Now people drive cars, use status glasses and some other defective magic items they call teck (tech).", Helton said clinching his gloved fist.
