Chapter 1 - Ye Feng

A sick laughter emerged from the crowd, a laugh that could be considered as evil. The small crowd that was bundled together underneath the large white tent, although packed with no room for not even a mouse, shuffled to the sides to accommodate a path for the laughing man.

A fat man with a high build, the man whom walked along the manmade path was a notorious criminal. With a scar covering his left eye, and Kang's special cigar always in his mouth, he was easily recognizable. A criminal with a bounty of $55 thousand, Ye Feng.

"Who dares to take me on as a challenge?" Ye Feng shouted with a disgruntling laugh. His smirk could only be described as smug, as he haughtily eyed over the crowd.

In his eyes, the crowd was a pathetic bunch. They didn't even have the strength to fight for themselves, which is why they made others fight for their money - and pride.

A silence passed through the crowd, as everyone avoided making eye contact with the fat man at all costs. People began to stare at anything. Anything except for Ye Feng. They stared at the blood stained floor, or their familiar old shoes.

"I do." A sudden voice called out. At once, the immense concentration of the crowd shifted towards the voice. Squeezing out of the packed rows of people, a teenage boy stepped out into Ye Feng's path.

There was an obvious difference in the two tall man. One, was fat and 6' tall. He wore the most expensive attire in the pop-up tent, and had multiple scars that publicly told of his experience in battles.

While the other was a handsome youth. He was tall, in fact he was taller than Ye Feng. His scrawny build was hidden underneath clothes that were obviously too big to be his. They were more likely to be considered as rags than cloths, and his perfect complexion revealed no hint of any prior experience.

"Go home kid. I'm looking for an opponent, not a plaything." Ye Feng mocked.

The boy, however, only rolled his eyes at the fat man's mockery. His hands reached into his big pockets and revealed an enormous amount of gold.

No one cared about how this scrawny underage boy had gotten his hands on that much money, instead, everyone was focused on the amount. It was a whopping $10k.

"Oh?" Ye Feng said with a greedy smile. He took his famous cigar out of his mouth, revealing a few missing teeth as he smiled. "What's your name kid?"

"Bohai." The boy responded. "Just Bohai."

His response made the fat man clamor in laughter. Putting his cigar back in his mouth, he shared a known look with the referee.

"Well then, Just Bohai, shall we start?"

"Sure." Bohai replied nonchalantly. His attention elsewhere.

While Ye Feng had made eye contact with the referee, Bohai had made eye contact with another in the crowd. The petite teenager nodded, and disappeared in the midst of the crowd.

As Ye Feng and Bohai walked into the middle of the tent, where a clearing had been specifically made for these brutish fights, conversation rose throughout the audience. People weren't hesitating while they bet on the famous Ye Feng. However, on the occasion that people voted for Bohai, a sudden voice would convince them otherwise.

In the end, only one person voted for Bohai. That one person, was a petite teenager. he had short hair, and his tanned bruised skin showed the details of his hard life. His sunburnt face, and rag-like clothes displayed his life as a farmer, which made the others in the tent snort with laughter.

To them, it seemed like a dumb child had entered this dangerous place with the little bit of money he had saved up throughout his life. He was uneducated, and therefore made a stupid bet. He would lose all of his precious pent up money, and would run out crying.

While others were publicly ridiculing the boy, Bohai's eyes livened up. Despite his multiple irritated expressions he had worn when being mocked, his eyes revealed no hint of any emotion. But now, upon seeing his little friend succeed in his task, he was finally excited. Of course, Ye Feng failed to notice this notion in his opponent.

He was a proud man, who thought highly of himself and his $50 thousand bounty. He would do anything to make it higher, unethical or ethical.

In this small desecrate city, he failed to realize that there was another with a high bounty. Even if he managed to find out, he would've never been able to guess that the only other with a high bounty in the premise, had a higher bounty than him. And he could've never imagined that the boy in front of him was the one whom put his "high" bounty to shame.

However, one person outside the ring did manage to spot the difference in the boy competitor's gaze. It sent chills down his spine.

He had traveled alongside Ye Feng for over a decade now, like a shadow. Despite doing as much as Ye Feng, probably even more, he, Tan Ying, was an unknown person with a small $5k bounty on his head.

In all the encounters Ye Feng and Tan Ying had faced, they had never seen such a person who released such a frightening killing intent. Tan Ying raised his hand to say something, but a small blistered hand covered his mouth before he was able to.

"Let the match begin!" The referee shouted.

As the referee commenced the beginning of the match, the hand that covered Tan Ying's mouth retreated. Tan Ying glanced up to see the same "stupid" teenage boy sneering at him. It was then that a sudden idea came to his mind. But, he discarded the idea almost immediately. There was no way anyone in this town could beat his friend, he was sure of it.
