Who knew Sae would invite me over the very next morning.
Sae messaged me that morning and asked me to meet her at the park near her house. After giving me the coordinates, I jumped into my car and drove over.
It was only a 10 minutes drive, thankfully. But a part of me was nervous. Even though we met once last month at Comkiet, we actually haven't seen each other for years due to her disappearance from cram school. In fact, I couldn't remember a time where I would meet up with Sae alone.
I asked Sae once why she stopped going to the cram school. However, her mood dropped and I was too afraid to ask again. Perhaps there was something going on in her life and not just because she didn't have the time to go anymore.
Anyways, as soon as I reached the park. I got down from my car to see her sitting underneath an open-air wooden shack, waiting for me with two lunch boxes on her lap.
The park was very small. There were a few swings and a playground for the local kids. There were two swimming pools around the park and they seemed well maintained. However, in the end, what caught my attention was no doubt the open-air wooden shack.
They were white in colour and the roofs were made with straws. It gave a very tropical feeling that blended very well with the surroundings. There was a table in the middle and seats around the square hut. It was small but cosy just like the overall feel of the park.
Maybe it was the angle but it really did give off the childhood friend vibe you see so much in anime where they would wait for your arrival as if they were about to confess their love.
She even waved like one of those childhood friend characters in those anime too.
As if this was a love story.
As I approached closer and sat beside her, I could finally grasp her overall getup. She had her lavender hair free from any hair accessories. Though as we start eating our lunch box together, she would then tie it up into a ponytail. But something about her motion of tying her hair was amusing to me since it wasn't a common sight after all.
Her glasses were different though. I saw her wearing black-framed glasses when I saw her at Comiket but today she was wearing white-framed glasses. According to her, it was the same glasses she wore during Comiket. Maybe I had remembered wrongly but it just goes to show that I wasn't paying attention to her eyes.
She was wearing a white blouse with a short black skirt. I was starting to worry if the black skirt was too short or not and as if God answered my question, the gust of wind that blew by told me that she was actually wearing a pair of pants disguised as a skirt.
She was wearing a pair of white flats. She wasn't wearing any socks sadly. I had always thought knee high socks are great on girls like her with thick thighs. I was always intrigued with the famous 'absolute territory' but I was getting ahead with myself.
She had a red sling bag on her as well. However, I didn't know what she could possibly have inside so I just imagined that it had something to do with lunch.
All in all, she was well dressed for the day, unlike me who came with a T-shirt and short pants in slippers. It just goes to show who had better fashion taste and wardrobe.
As I opened Sae's lunch box, it was a feast for my eyes. Two egg-mayo filled rice balls, five eggrolls, three pieces of karaage and a little salad with two half slices of cherry tomatoes.
"Thanks for the meal."
I immediately dug in and enjoyed the meal. They were as good as I remembered. Sae may have said her cooking was bad but her cooking tasted really good to me. For some reason, it felt more homely than the food my mother cooks. Maybe it was because my mother didn't enjoy cooking just as much as Sae and was only doing it to feed the family.
I guess Sae just loved cooking and showed it in her presentation.
I asked Sae about her cooking again and praised her for how good it tasted despite how she would say it tasted normal to her. Sae then retorted by saying she only gave me the good ones as the bad ones were either in her sister's stomach or down the drain. I could only laugh while feeling bad for her sister who became her test subject.
"I'm glad that you would cook for me but I wasn't expecting you to cook for me the next day."
"Well, I couldn't sleep so I thought I'll just cook instead."
"Eh?" Her words caught me by surprise as I asked about her reason. "You can't sleep? Are you feeling okay?"
"No! I'm fine!" Sae replied to me quickly. "There were some things in my mind last night but I'm alright now! Don't worry about it."
"Well, if you say so."
With that, I bit into the eggrolls and enjoyed their savoury flavours. After realizing there was cheese in between the eggrolls, Sae answered my curiosity about what was inside her sling bag.
She pulled out an apple, a container and a knife. Knowing she was only going to be using the knife to peel the apple, I was also shocked that she would bring a knife out to a park.
She then sliced the apple masterfully and carefully on her hands. After that, she put them in the container. She then picked up one of the slices and began trimming the skin. Not long afterwards, she had made an apple bunny out of the slice.
It was then I learned that she just wanted to show off her cutting skills to me. I was bewildered and amused by her skills so I just gave her a thumbs up while continuing stuffing my face with her cooking.
"I guess among all of my friends, only Gin knew how to cook. But I didn't have the chance to try his cooking. So I guess among all my friends around my age, you were the only one whose cooking I have tried."
"Well, I guess the same goes for me too." She said as she continued trimming each of the apples. "You were the only person who ever ate my cooking outside of my family."
"I guess that's another 'first' we took from each other again."
We laughed as we continued minding our business. There was a short pause of conversation until Sae started talking about something that caught my full attention.
"Oh yeah, I finished your novel recently."
"... How was it?"
"Can I be perfectly honest?"
"Hit me."
"It was a mess of a story."
"I knew it."
As if being shot straight to my heart, I was hurt by her words. Not because she insulted my work but simply because she pulled the words right out of my mouth. I knew my story was bad as I had put in way too many cliches and tried too hard to make it look cool when in the end it only made it even more cringeworthy.
However, as I was about to receive more insults, Sae proceeded to tell me the good parts only.
"Well, the characters were interesting and the battle scenes were cool at least. Oh, but the way you made the main girl even more of a 'yandere' type than the original source was a very nice touch.
"You get it don't you… Yanderes are the best," I said as I finished up the lunch box.
"They are great, aren't they. Their strong affections, their mentally destructive nature and the way they solve their love issues with blood and gore..."
"Honestly they make perfect girlfriends. They are loyal and they are always depicted as these superior beings with flawless skills. Of course, outside of their murderous personalities, they would be great in real life too. If only I had a yandere girlfriend."
As if a switch turned on inside Sae, Sae who was holding the knife placed the container of apples on the table. She removed her scrunchy and messed her hair as if to make her look like a crazed girl. She then turned to look around the park and ensured that we had the whole place to us.
She then sat up straight and faced directly forward. She then turned her pupils to the side and looked at me without turning her head. I might be hallucinating but I could see her left eye twitched like mad.
She then raised the knife she was grabbing with her right hand and stroked it with her left hand while continue to remain in eye contact with me. It was then with the scariest voice she could pull, she called out my name.
"Nobuo~"
"Oi."
"Where were you last night? I saw your work uniform and noticed that there was a strand of hair that didn't belong to you. It also had a different smell on it this time… You aren't cheating on me, aren't you… Nobuo~"
As I realized she had turned her head completely towards me, she started leaning forward along with the knife in her hand. Our elbows began to touch as her face slowly grew closer in my vision. Her unkempt hair was slowly creeping on my shoulder as if they were crawling on it. Eventually, she was sitting so close to me that I could feel her weight on me. The knife that was once far from my reach was approaching my face.
I was trying to avoid the sight of her knife but as she edged towards my body, her cleavage through her shirt was in my sight. I burned every single image of her D-cup sized boobs being supported by her maroon coloured bra into my mind and make sure to store it properly just so I can reopen them when I want to.
At this point, there were two things that appeared in my mind. Boobs and knives. Boobs because I liked them. Knives because I feared them.
Sae's face was still closing into my ears as she used the spine of the knife and gently stroke my chin. She then whispered into my ears murderously but seductively as if she was a girl looking for blood.
"It's okay, Nobuo. I'm willing to forgive you. But for that thieving bitch, the last thing she will see is her arms and legs displayed in front of her as I slowly pull out each and every one of her teeth. And then, I will slowly suck you dry as I place a jar of her eye right next to my face."
"Sae! I get it! You made your point! Take that knife away and put it as far away from me as possible before I scream in fear! Just take it away! Take it away!"
"How was that, Nobuo?"
She was back to how she was in a flash of a second as she kept the knife in her bag and handed me the container of apple bunnies. For me whose heart was still beating like crazy needed a minute or two to calm down. After two long minutes and 3 slices of apples, I gave her my honest opinion.
"Honestly, I'm hard."
"Don't be hard."
At this point, I don't know what to say to her. Those were one of the longest 5 minutes of my life. It was as if I have seen a side of Sae I have never seen before. She suddenly became a girl I had always wanted and lusted on. She acted as the 'yandere' character perfectly. If I wasn't hard, I don't know what else can make me hard at that point. Things got a bit awkward for me as the image of her 'yandere' personality was still in my head.
However, Sae had questions that wanted to be answered.
"Nobuo, how did you exactly feel about the break-up?"
So I answered her honestly.
"Of course, I felt sad but I also expected things wouldn't last much longer. She had lost feelings for a while now and we weren't going out as much. If I recall, around the 5th month, her feelings had died down for me and she was only waiting for me to call it off. In the end, that didn't happen and she was the one who called it off."
And I continued answering honestly.
"Though I didn't regret dating her, I was angry at myself for not being a good enough person for her. Sure we had our differences but I felt like I could have done better. At least, we get to leave on good terms and still remain as friends."
Sae who listened attentively gave me a warm smile and comforted me in her own way as she finished up her own lunch box.
"Glad to know you aren't so hard on yourself," Sae said with a warm smile. "If you ever feel down about it, I'll always be there to sever a few limbs for you."
"At this point, I don't know which one is just an act anymore."
Soon, it was time for us to go. I thanked her for the meal and offered to bring her home but she said she had plans afterwards so we went our separate ways at the park. Sae promised to cook more for me in the future.
"I'll keep cooking for you until you get another girlfriend!"
"If that was the case, I'm never going to get another one!"
With those final exchanges of words, I was on my way to the car.
While I was switching on the car's engine, the only thing that was in my mind was the intense 'yandere' play from Sae and how it turned me on. As I reversed my car out of the parking lot, I thought about sharing my 'imouto' fetish with Sae the next time we hang out again.
