At the age of six, my parents paid to have me tested for summoning capability. I was good friends with most of my class at that point. My best friend was Titus. Once I got tested though, everyone wanted to be my friend.
I really didn't understand what getting twelve pages meant, but my parents seemed excited. I learned that most people get 5-7 pages and that the number you start with is indicative of your talent as a demon contractor. I was told that I would be my family's first prodigy. I didn't understand why it was so important then, but six years later I see why they invested so much in me.
"I really don't care though."
"What was that son?"
"Nothing, just thinking about today."
My parents were taking me to the summoning center personally to watch my summoning. They seemed very excited about what I might summon. While the number of pages where given, the demon type was not. There was always a worry that I would summon a useless demon.
I wondered what Titus and Wels would get. Wels had his magical prowess to fall back on, but Titus had to put everything into his summoning. No one else in the class except Verona knows how many pages they'd get.
Verona was going to get nine pages and was considered another one of the gifted. I started to think about what she would summon when *bump*
The carriage had hit a rock and the driver stopped. He came and opened the door.
"We have arrived, sir."
"Alright, Jol let's go. Your future, no our future, starts today."
With that, I headed to the group of students and looked for my friends. I was excited to see what they would get, and I hoped for the best.
That's when I heard them.
"Hey Jol get over here"
