I must've dozed off because I was shaken awake by Ari."What's wrong.something happen?",I asked since we hadn't arrived yet and it seemed like we were in traffic to.She nodded and pointed towards the bus radio.
"Listen",She said simply.Doing so it took me a while to clear the haze from my head but eventually I was able to pick up on what Ari had wanted me to hear and to be honest it wasn't pleasant. "In related news last night at exactly ten pm, there was an attack on luken asylum and penitentiary which resulted in the release and massacre of numerous criminals and dangerous supernatural in the process. The massacre is described by the police as revolting and also very bloody. In the words of police chief Sam ardvark the massacre was like something out of a horror movie. We'll be bringing more updates later in the day", The presenter said as she signed out. I'd been round there and I was pretty damn sure that the man I'd met was response for that. The fact of the matter was that whoever that guy was he must've had an aim for coming there. Luken asylum was a home for the most dangerous criminals, mad men and seriously dangerous supernaturals who were capable of destroying cities. They were bound by high level sealing magic which was renewed on an hourly basis.

Whoever this guy was he must've been trying to create a squad or an army of he had released most of the inmates and the killed some or most of the other guys in there. It was possible that he wanted to either turn some of them into reanimated or zombies. Either way it wasn't good news for anyone. We arrived at the school a few minutes after the presenter had given some extra information on the massacre which just turned every one off because the last thing you want to hear on a gloomy Monday morning was a grueling and horrifyingly vivid description of a massacre by a mad man. This dude was pretty strong if he had managed to get past the guards and end them as well. Most everyone was looking people who had come out of a sick and insanely crazy roller coaster ride or something which was to be expected. Even Ari was looking kinda queasy and I had to wrap my around her waist as walked to keep her from falling. She was really frail hearted and when she heard that I was a hunter before we started dating she didn't take it so well but she was holding up pretty well.
Walking up to the school doors I grinned inwardly. The school was one of many around the world which had a hunter or guardian training course in it. Ever since the rise of supernatural threats, Governments had finally sanctioned the use of magic to the general public for defense and other daily life processes. Also governments had created Agencies who trained special squads to directly combat the supernatural threats and what ever else they could throw at us.
It wasn't easy and humanity had suffered some pretty heavy losses along the way but we weren't giving up just yet and we didn't have any intention to do so any time soon. My school was also one of the best for its great production of extremely skilled hunters. My father had come to this same school when he was younger.

The thought of him passed through my head like a small gust of wind.
I shook my head to clear my mind as we walked in. The hall smelt of roses and lavender. Ari wasn't in the guardian course she was in the support and tactical operation course. It suited her she was a deep thinker and she had pretty awesome scores on her tests. As we walked through the hallway I suddenly sensed a familiar presence. Through the crowd I saw my old best friend Krista argent. we hadn't spoken to each other since a falling out we had Three years ago.
She was walking with her boyfriend Alvin stone.He and I had never gotten along. Krista and I had been best friends since middle school and we had done everything together. Most people had even thought we were dating but that wasn't the case. In fact I had never even crushed on her once though. I know it sounds wired but it's true. She had long blonde hair and a curvy body with a pretty nice bust line. Most guys had literally tripped and fallen over looking at her boobs or her ass. Alvin was the opposite of me since he had pure black hair which was a bit longer than mine and brown eyes. When. Krista started dating him three years ago I hadn't trusted him much.He seemed nice and cool but he also seemed kinda reserved and very secretive.
I tried to look him up since his dad was a politician in Britain but it came up blank and by blank I literally meant there was nothing on him. For his old man I found plenty but his files were blank. I knew something wasn't write so I started following him around and tracing his movements. It wasn't easy. As a hunter I had special augmentations which enhanced my physical strength and speed.
This allowed me to jump higher and run faster but with all these Alvin was still hard to track. Then one day I found what I was looking for. I was out with Alvin and Krista when the restaurant we were at was suddenly attacked by Four thugs and a reanimated. The thugs must've combined their magic resurrect it cause their magic level didn't seem high from what I could sense off them. The reanimated casted a fireball spell at Krista which Alvin dived I to block with a half ass defence spell. It didn't take me long to take him out and the rest of the thugs though the restaurant was kinda damaged by then.Lucky for me as a hunter I had insurance for any damages caused to any structures whenever I fought.
The fire ball had burned him a bit badly but I knew healing magic so I healed him up but what I saw confirmed what I was thinking. Alvin had the image of a dragon eating a man tattooed on his chest. Added to this he had hurriedly put on a shirt from a nearby clothes stand just outside the joint. It only confirmed my suspicions. I went home after that and immediately searched up on the tattoo and found out it belonged to a violent and notorious international terrorist group which aided the supernaturals in alot of their raids and attacks.
After that it became clear that the two of them could t be together since the group also sacrificed virgin girls for reasons I'd rather not disclose. And Krista was a one hundred percent virgin. I'm sure most people would think that I was being paranoid and that maybe Alvin had changed. Well I'd agree with you if it weren't for the fact that I saw him kidnapping a girl off the streets with some other guys and the shoving her into a white van.I could've save d her but those guys were no joke and I could've blown my cover.But that didn't stop me from alerting my agency. I tried to warn Krista but she didn't listen even when I went to the extent of showing her proof. She claimed I was jealous and that I was being a road block to her happiness. She told Alvin and one day we fought. Being an augmented human I was far stronger than he was. I probably would've killed him but Krista stopped me and after telling me off and saying she never wanted to see me again I left her alone.

I never texted.
Seeing her now brought up old memories I didn't want to think about.
