Now how could Lyle say that what he did was not because he wanted to help her. He felt really irritated when he heard that that idiotic boy was her ex. And then when he said that he was her first, Lyle felt that Vincent's face looked so irritating that he wanted to punch him. Hard.
One look and Lyle knew that this boy who claimed himself as Ivy's ex, still couldn't let her go. This bastard still had designs on Ivy.
Lyle really wanted to hide Ivy sauce as he could. The feeling was never this strong.
So when he heard Vincent address him as Ivy's present boyfriend, Lyle didn't refute it. Instead, he even added on fuel to make that thought burn more.
Lyle had purposely brought up the family dinner but had kept it vague so that Vincent would misunderstand it and think that they were in a very serious relationship. That even their parents had met and if Vincent's imagination was more brighter, Lyle even wanted him to think that they were infact engaged. Just one step away from tying the knot.
But he couldn't say that infront of this crafty yet dumb in a certain aspect fox. Therefore all Lyle did was smile and say, ''Let's go now. Everyone should be waiting.''
On the other end, Lyle's plan had really succeeded.
Vincent stood there at the same spot for minutes before he was brought back by his bros.
Even after drinking dozens of beer, Vincent didn't feel different. Instead, his brain started overthinking.
In a drunken stupor, Vincent grabbed a friend of his and said, ''Why... why did I break up with you. Why can't you understand that I realized my mistake the very day you left. Why don't you understand that all I'm doing is to try to get you back. Why do you still consider me a jerk? I... I was a jerk. I admit it. But... But... can you not leave me. Can't we start over? Can't we... V... I really really really want to get back together with you. I... I...''
Indeed, in his drunken state, Vincent had imagined Ivy in his friend place. So he poured out all his feelings without any reservation. All in the might that alcohol gave him.
''Vince. You are drunk. Come...'' His friends wanted to help him up but were instead pushed away.
Vincent stood up but he wasn't stable so he stabilized himself by placing both his hands on the table.
''V. I will get you back. You can't ditch me ever. This Vince will never let you go even if I turn into a ghost.''
