Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Gaia

{\\\} This means past or flashback

\\\ "Mother of Nature? Your mother nature herself? Isn't Gaia the goddess of nature and motherhood?" Lia asked

"I'm more like the representative of the earth, but me and nature "goddess" do have the same abilities, yes," Gaia explained.

"That was my next question. There is no way you're actually like a GOD, right? I mean, no being confined within the universe can be everywhere and see everything. They would have to be outside of the universe in order to have that ability. Lia said.

"Never once did I or anyone of my brethren refer to ourselves as gods. It is you humans who put a label on everything. Anyways you're pretty smart for a 14-year-old girl.

"Yes, Ms.Lia Harris, I am not a god by any means, but I was given the job to be the representative of the earth. Just like the first couple of generations of humans were given jobs. Well, some of them anyway don't get me distracted on a history lesson. Gaia said, trying to refocus.

Lia just stood there awkwardly, holding the knife as Gaia was talking.

"As I said before, your path is that one a greater one than this. You have a strong heart, and although you had a terrible example, you still have a strong motherly instinct.

"Lia, I have chosen you to be my host," Gaia said proudly, opening her arms.

Lia makes a face.🤨

"So, what does that exactly mean?" Lia asked

"You will be my successor. I'm only human, after all. I'm not just going to live forever." Gaia said

"Aren't you like 1000s of years old? Humans can't live that long," Lia argued.

"Yea, he doesn't make them by hand like he used to," Gaia said

"Anyways, you are the next Mother nature or whatever the weaker humans call me. But there is one benefit in me bestowing my powers to you. First, you'll get to go to this really cool academy and get out of here, and secondly, you'll get to know who your future husband is. Gaia said, throwing rice in the air that appeared from nowhere.

"I'll be able to get out of here? Say no more, sign me up. I don't care about all the other stuff. " Lia said

"Well, like, don't you want to know more information or ?" Gaia said

"I mean, this is like "The rest of your life" kind of deal. Would you like to think it over more?

Also, keep in mind I can get rid of this Terri guy for you so you and your mother can not live in such a toxic environment. Either way, you'll be rid of this scary excuse for a man." Gaia said, looking towards the room in disgust.

"Thank you, but I will still choose yours after instead. I wish to have a whole new life, and this new school plus a husband already lined up for me sounds pretty good. Lia explained.

"Yea, the husband thing is just the man I see most of in your future, but it can always change. He's still high on lists every time it changes, though," Gaia said

"What's his name? Lia asked

"Isaiah Greenwood," Gaia replied.

Later that week, Lia came to Infinity Prep academy. Once there, she met Kathryn, her best friend.

Lia got settled into life at the academy quickly. Even after going on missions, she still felt like this life was better than her last.

It wasn't until Lia heard the name Isaiah Greenwood did she start to panic again. Then, she starts recalling the full conversation and what Gaia said after she accepted her power.

"The man I see in your future is most likely going to be your husband. This is a very important fact, Lia. Whoever you are married to has a great impact on the planet's future. Simply marrying you and accepting my blessing will make that man one of the most powerful beings on the planet."

But this Isaiah Greenwood is already a potential powerhouse which means that if he's able to accept the blessing. His power will be unrivaled."

"And only you, Lia, will have the power to stop him. But, unfortunately, great power makes some men lose a sense of who they are. That's why it will be your job to pull him back at any moment you might think he's lost his mind." Gia warned.

"Ughh 😩 are all men's minds really that fragile," Lia said, complaining, walking into the classroom.
