Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

A total of five male figures with his face appeared in a row. A range of possible races was displayed before Allan. This was a little more difficult to decide, so he choose to look at the characteristics of every race before proceeding. In the forums only appeared a short description of every race so he looks at them closely.

First, he viewed his human image.

Race: Human

One of the very last races in being created, it's said that the gods made them at the final stage of the creation, but by then if a strong race appeared the delicate ecosystem that was formed could be destroyed, so they only granted limited wisdom and a great breeding capacity in comparison with other races to ensure their survival. It's unknown if these claims are true.

A race known by its ingenuity and creativity, that by their very own effort became one of the main races in the continent, while they don't have any specialty, neither they have any weak points.

10% Increment in speed when learning and training skills

Allan said nothing while he observes the figure in front of him. It was a very plain race with a standard bonus given in other games. The human race was obviously for new gamers who don't know what they want to do in the game so they can fumble a bit, but the second part of the description was interesting. After a while of thinking he looked at the next image.

Race: Elf

They believe they are the first race to be created, a race so perfect that the gods themselves believed that it shouldn't exist, so they destroyed it and from its ashes made a different species with the high elf being the closest to the original ancestor.

In base on the legends, the reason why they are loved by the elemental spirits is that they are reminded of the first-ever elf.

Relation with elemental spirits is raised to Friendly

Obtained an affinity to an element

50% More stats are obtained when leveling up

200% More difficulty to level up

"Ahh, this is obviously a trap"

It was slender and a bit taller than his human form and he had pointed ears too. The penalty is harsh but this was without doubt an incredibly powerful race, and I am sure that when it reached its max potential it would be unbeatable, but when that would be? we don't know if this supposed max level would be the same for all the races, in the first place we don't know if the company set a max level.

Still, it is obvious that a lot of people will choose this race, especially guild leaders and a lot of big players who have a lot of subordinates to help them to level up will give a try at this race, but if the company put it as a starter race it won't be as overpowered as it seems.

The next image was of a super buff version of himself, easily over two meters in height, with a pair of red eyes, green skin, and tusks, it gave off a savage impression.

Race: Orc

A warrior race, which might doesn't know bound. Their king is decided by strength in duels issued by any of the qualified challengers, which the current king is obliged to accept anytime. They have waged wars against almost every sentient race on the continent and provoked the extinction of a few more.

Its culture is formed around power superiority, no matter sword, axe, magic o fist. It's a race that respects the strong and disdains the weak. While they are not very knowledgeable about traditional magic, they developed their own branch of it.

They are the race that one time was the closest to the continent's conquest.

50% Easier to learn and train any combat-related skill

100% More difficult to learn and train any craft-related skill

Fearless Trait Acquired

Relations with other races lowered to Unfriendly

One time a month they would suffer a bloodlust debuff for 24 hours

And if the previous race was bait for top players, this is for top guilds. Based on what the description said, it's apparent that the orc race has an amazing setting, so the most probable thing to happen is that they make their combat members choose this race for a quick power-up. The most luring thing about this race is the selection of the king, which means that if a player wins against the actual king, he will become the next king.

Control a whole race, and one with such prowess is a candy for these guilds.

People don't know what that debuff does since the game was launched two weeks ago but it can't be good.

Race: Dwarf

The dwarfs are the children of the earth, blessed with enormous strength and great intelligence they have earned a place in the continent. Some people would prefer to battle alone an orc army than attack a dwarf city.

Famous for their architecture and craftsmanship, people tend to forget that the person who knows the best weapon is its creator.

A very united race, if they hear you make suffer their fellow dwarfs then prepare for their revenge as a whole.

Earth affinity acquired

1 point extra to strength when leveled up

1 point extra to dexterity when leveling up

This race only gains 4 free points every level up

This image was like the orc image but compressed to a meter in height … and with a beard.

"It says that they are good craftsmen but I don't see any craftmanship bonus"

The dwarf race has always been a craftsman race, in other games the race always had a bonus in blacksmith and such, but this was different.

Allan was curious about this, if they are known by their crafts then, how are so good at them? Doesn't does mean that anyone can reach their level no matter the race? If so then it wouldn't appear in the race description.

He stops a moment thinking about what this means, and after a while, he continues reading the next description.

Race: Beastman

If people know the elf by their connection with nature, then the beastmen are one with nature.

The beastman race is known for its diversity of branches, from the fast birdmen to the elusive mermaid (Warming: Mermaid is a female race only), all of them live in harmony with their environment. It's said that monster doesn't attack their settlements because they are an essential part of the ecosystem.

A thing in common between all of them is the lack of magic attitude (Exceptions exist)

Acquired the instinct trait

Acquired Racial Skills

Acquired Bloodline function

50% Increase in effectiveness using Racial skills

100% Increase in all stats in the home terrain

This race's stat points are distributed when leveled up

"Mmm… okay, this is new" Allan said while he looked at the interface.

The image was changing every moment, in one second was a dog beastman, and the next a rat beastman. I could stop it if I wanted but then I wouldn't see all the possibilities of the race (There was even a naga!!!).

The beastman race was directed to the bulk of players, those who sought to pass a fun time and nothing more. It was without a doubt an interesting choice and it seemed to have a few secrets waiting to be discovered.

I had seen the inherent skills in the forums. Basically, they were skills obtained the moment one enters the game for the first time. For example, the mermaids had underwater breathing and chaos melody skills, and the birdmen had flying and hawk vision skills, though some of these skills can be learned by other races, they would never be so powerful for them.

The last interface didn't have an image, neither have a description, it only had the word below: halfling. Allan selected the word and multiple images appeared.

It was a creation system, I could select my "parents" between the five races so I can be a half elf and half human, or a half beastman and half dwarf (It looks like a teddy bear!!), and so on. Players would have half the bonus and penalties of the races selected.

"I see, the game intent separates the players based on their interest, the orcs for the combat players, the dwarfs for the production players, the elves for the pro players, the beastmen for casual players, and the halfling is for these that want to have some of two races, but what about the human race? For first-timers?"

The human race was unbalanced in comparison to the other races, yet the description said that was one of the main races on the continent, obviously, there was something missing.

"Sadly, I didn't see any videos of the human race"

The players in the game were not a lot and the ones that post videos wanted to get popularity and a lot of views, if one of them choose the human race perhaps the first and second videos have views but they won't go too far with that race. Of course, Allan was sure that some weirdos had chosen the human race.

"Mmm… what should I choose?"
