Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

<< Human Race selected. Confirm?

"Confirm"

Allan finally chose the human race.

Why? It is because of a hunch that he has about the game. Before when looking around the forums he had doubts, but looking at the starter races he became sure of his theory.

Even if that hunch is false, it is still not too late to change the race later in the game.

<< Confirmed >>

<< Would you like to do body modifications? >>

Allan paused a bit after seeing the notification.

People usually always wanted this option in virtual games, after all, everybody has some things about themselves that they would wish to change, be a bit taller, slimmer, etc... Of course, they could also want to do it for fun. As for why the game company inserts this option after the race selection that's because every race has a maximum height and volume between others to avoid having a two meters tall dwarf or a model-like orc wandering inside it.

"No" Allan was okay with himself.

<< Do you want to do a tutorial? >>

"Yes"

If there was a thing that he learned in his years as a player is that one must do the tutorial, no matter how simple the game is, if not the early days will be hell, especially in this game.

That's because in the game don't exist level 1 monsters, the early monsters are about level 5 or 6. In the game when gaining five stats points every level, and it's the same with the monsters (The normal ones at least).

In the tutorial, you can level up to level 10. There are videos of people who skipped the tutorial and were trashed by bunnies. (It was hilarious. It had a million views!!!)

Allan is planning to go through the tutorial and see if his theory is true.

<< Destiny: Tutorial Island >>

<< Good Luck in Idle Online Player Allan>>

Allan was involved in a white light and in the next moment he disappeared

Tutorial Island, as its name says it´s an island inhabited by a lot of different races which can only be accessed by accepting the tutorial offered after finishing creating your character.

Nobody knows any other way to access it. In the first place, the races are divided into different parts of the continent, with the exception of wandering travelers, is extremely rare to see a person of one race in another race's territory.

The game company announced Tutorial Island as: "a place where you can adapt yourself to the game, different races, and decide the way you would play the game"

What are the ways to play games?

A lot, you can be a warrior, a priest, a thief, a blacksmith, and so on. In this game, it means to get a job.

How do you get a job?

To get a job you have to clear two requisites. First, you need to go to the person who can give you this job. It would be useless to go to a merchant to become an assassin.

Second, you must have the skills up to the task, if you want to get a job as a tailor is expected that you can sew, if you want to be a miner then you must know where to mine, and such.

Then, if you have the skills why do you need to get a job? In any other game you get the skills after you get the class and not before, what use would have to have a job?

In Allan's opinion, the answer would be to get better at what you do, meaning to level up your skills.

For example, you are a blacksmith in a village, if you don't work you would be at this level forever, but if you improve you could become a town blacksmith, and then a city blacksmith, until you become the best blacksmith in the country. In reality, this doesn't work that way, there are various limitations in the path, and while this is still possible is very, very difficult, but in a game everything is possible.

In resume, the motive for this village creation is to help you to prove and learn the skills that you would cultivate during the game. The objective is to learn skills!!!

Of course, that´s Allan´s opinion after investigating a bit.

After a few seconds, Allan appeared in the middle of a road without people. The moment he opened his eyes he suddenly felt the wind on his face and how it caressed his body, he smelt the grass at the sides of the road and he felt the sun on his skin.

"Ahh, I suppose that 95% of realism isn't a joke"

Is not difficult to transmit sensations through the game capsule but in other games is not so clear, you can feel hot, cool, pain, etc… In some games, you can even taste the food but that's all. The brain sends a lot of messages to the body every second, the burden couldn't be supported by a machine… until now.

The sensations he was feeling is lake if he was in the real world, Allan feels the weight of his clothes and hear the sounds of insects in the grass, he felt like he was there, and not in a capsule in his home.

"Home" he said to himself. It would be a lie to say that he didn´t miss his parents, the city life is great, but nothing can compare to staying in the place where you truly think you belong.

"I should call them"

After a moment Allan composed himself and observed his outfit, he was wearing a white shirt and a brown jacket, along with dark brown trousers and a small bag, inside the bag there were ten copper coins and five pieces of jerky. There wasn't something like a weapon. All in all, he looked very plain.

"Not that it is bad" Allan thought.

After he finished collecting his thoughts he started moving. He was in front of the entrance of a town. The guard at the gate let him pass without taking a look at him.

Tutorial Island is big, and there was a number of towns spread around the island, every new user that started the tutorial appeared in front of one of these towns.

As Allan walked, he was looking around, these towns had everything you could need to learn skills, at least the normal ones, a blacksmith, a tailor, an apothecary shop, restaurants, a market, and more.

"So, they are not only the body sensations after all" Allan said.

Every place he looked over he felt this place was alive, with people walking, laughing, children playing in the way. If you couldn't see the icons above the player's heads you wouldn´t distingue between NPCs and players.

"They move the same, and act the same, … well I retract the last part"

While in his mussing he saw a player be thrown out of a shop by a very angry tailor.

"If you like my merchandise, then buy it. How do you dare to try to steal from me?"

"Haa, who would want the trash that you are selling, ten silvers for that crappy armor, what a rip-off." Said the player who was on the floor.

"Besides, I wasn't stealing it, I was taking what I deserved from the money you didn't give me for the furs you ask me to bring you"

"You dare!!! The furs were bloody and full of holes, how I could use them in that state? Giving you fifty copper coins was me being generous. Guards!!! Take this thief to prison!"

Before the player realized it there were two stoic-looking men wearing guard clothes behind him and taking an arm each.

"Yo-You can't do this to me!! You are only an NPC, how do you dare to treat me this way, get off of me!!!"

The guy didn't stop screaming even when the guards were dragging him across the ground far from the shop.

Every second he was more certain that his theory is true. Allan continued his way to reach his current objective, learn a combat skill, so he continued searching, he walked along the crowd, and finally, he saw a building with a plaque that said , and entered.

Not even five minutes later he came out.

"I already imagine that this would be the case but for this to reach such a level. All right, plan B"

He walked to the other side of the street, his objective was the building in front of him, the library.

He opened the door and walked inside.
