"Hey! Get up!!" Sounded a loud voice from near Allan.
Surprised, Allan opened his eyes and moved in a hurry to check what happened so … he fell off the bed.
Allan looked in the direction of the voice only to see an angry-looking guard inside his cell.
"What are you doing? Hurry and get out of here trash!! Your time is over" Yelled the guard to Allan.
Without giving him time to respond, he picked Allan from the ground with only one arm and dragged him to the exit.
When they reached the door, the guard lift him over his shoulders and throw him out!
"I don't know why we even bother to free trash like you, I'll bet I'll see you again by lunch. Get out of my sight!!!"
By the time Allan had touched the ground the only thing that could be heard was the door of the prison closing,
BAM
Allan stayed on the ground for a bit before getting up and analyzing what had just happened.
After thinking for a bit, he opened his menu and searched for notifications. His hunch turned out to be correct because he had a few new messages.
The first was that his convict title had been replaced by the ex-convict one.
The second was he had … a new title.
Bad Seed
A lot of people make mistakes, some people learn from them and others do not, you learn from your mistakes to make bigger and worse deeds.
You have gone astray, or maybe you never went for the right path.
Most think that your existence was a mistake, and maybe they aren't wrong.
People with neutral alignment will be wary of you
People with good alignments will be hostile to you
People with bad alignment may consider you one of them
Allan saw this title and only could sigh.
Filled with impotence, he started to remember what this title is all about.
Basically, this title is a game over for many players. The title makes all neutral NPCs to be unfriendly, and nobody wants that. Depending on the NPC character it can, from the price of his products to two or three times the market price, and anything that you sell it lower than fifty percent, ban you from entering its shop.
That also means that you can say goodbye to receive any type of quest from neutral NPCs, who are ALMOST EVERYONE!!! The blacksmith, the tailor, the random NPCs walking in the street, and most merchants, any NPC who is neither good nor bad.
Then, who are "good" NPCs? The city guards, the churches (Yeah, there are various churches, I'll speak about that another time), and anyone who helps people when they are in distress.
Yep, That´s not good.
People who gain this title are the players who decide to follow "unconventional paths" in the game.
In other games, most of the time they do bad deeds to progress with their quests and they belong to factions with not good intentions, from thieves and assassins to cultists, and they are hunted by the bounties that are offered for their heads.
Still, it is clear that the penalty given by this title is unusually severe, so even though the game company hasn't said anything about it
Players suspect that is a title expected to be obtained more advanced in the game when players have decided to be in the "dark" faction, the reason because players think that is the title's requirement.
It is only one, players have to be sentenced to more than half the time they played for first time the game, which makes sense, crimes of murder or thief can have sentences of years, and they can't expect players to stay in prison all that time.
And if they committed these acts, it is obvious that they have chosen their way to play the game.
In fact, the company investigated which would be the necessary amount of time that would be necessary for the player not to get the title for a mistake in the beginning. The first hours of gaming end in a flash, observing the city, exploring, battle in the outskirts of the city. After that, the player gets out of the game and returns the next day.
By the time the player returns to the game, the time would exceed the two days (because of the time difference), and the maximum amount of time one can spend in prison is one full day (game-time) in Tutorial Island for any crime, the company thought that the criminals would not want to repeat the experience of staying there.
But … There is one thing that the company didn't expect when they put that title.
That player could be so stupid.
If you think it makes sense, who in their sane mind would come to a new place and the first thing they do is harass the people, steal, and so on?
Only a fool would do it, right?
Well, turn out that the world is full of fools.
After the first ten players gained the title, other players started to be more careful, but still, a few people gain the title every single day.
After Allan finished with his thoughts, he decided what he would do next … he left the game.
This is an unexpected situation and he needs to reevaluate his plans, acting without thinking only would make things worse
And with that, he disappeared from the streets.
…
Allan got out of the capsule and went to the fridge to get something to eat, it was past noon so it was natural that he was hungry.
He was twelve in-game hours inside the capsule but he didn't feel uncomfortable.
"Technology is amazing, to think that all that was only in three hours" said Allan as he reached for some food.
There wasn't much to eat but he picked some jam and cheese along with some bread and made himself a sandwich, nothing too great but it was something.
While Allan thought that it was time to buy food in the supermarket, he sat down in front of his computer and started searching on the internet to see if there was something that he could do to remedy the mess he had gotten into.
There wasn't much to see, to be honest.
Idle Online was a relatively new game so most of its content was unknown.
Even so, its users published new videos almost every day which attracted the attention of the public, nobody says but everybody is intrigued by the new game, and more and more people are thinking of start playing it.
Of course, while a lot of people love it, others hate it.
They are some individuals saying that it would be the same as the disaster of the last time. That kind of person is what is stopping the public from joining the game. Of course, is only a matter of time before people start to play, and these shouts be silenced.
"RING, RING, RING"
As Allan was searching for something that could helping him with his problem, he was suddenly disturbed by the sound of his phone.
