So Marlena is here at last.
My mother and father had been quarreling about this 'Su' that was coming to the house to visit mom and 'me'. I laughed at that when I heard my dear mother say it.
The argument was getting heated and that was very unusual around the house.
[Just see how Marlena causes trouble everywhere she goes to], I thought.
Dad was so upset that he stormed out of the room. I was surprised to hear him talk about past life things and such. If he was uncomfortable about Su Na's mention of having lived and being aware of a past life, how would he feel to know that his dear daughter was an active member of that group?
I laughed inwardly.
Mom had dressed me so well... it irritated me knowing that it was because 'Aunty Su' was coming to the house for a visit.
[It has been so long], I thought.
I guess she stayed away after the reaction she got from me when I was still a baby and could only cry as a show of whatever I felt. [Annoying].
We all heard the knock on the door.
Mom set me in a chair she had bought for me that had restraints across my chest and waist... [so uncomfortable], I thought. She walked off quickly to get to the door. "How can she be so happy to see Marlena?", I muttered. [Oh. It is 'Aunty Su', Karina]... I had to remind myself.
That name irritated the hell out of me when I had to mention it to dad and mom during their argument. It was as if I had puked into my mouth.
"Showtime", I whispered as I watched my mother open the door for the murderer.
"Hey Su!!", mom shrieked even before she opened the door. I rolled my eyes.
"Only if she knew who she was happy to see"
My mind went back to when Marlena had invited me for the so-called 'peace talk'. I still insulted myself for not being smart enough. I used to think I was super smart but what happened in my past life, humbled me.
I peeled myself from my thinking and focused on the door. I felt the blood in my veins run cold, and the curly hairs on the back of my neck standing at attention.
The door opened and I heard her stupid voice.
"Xue Jing!!", she screamed.
I cringed and remembered how my father always begged the lady to keep her voice down. But knowing Marlena, her stubbornness knew no bounds.
"Come in... come in", mom said as they embraced each other.
"Where is she?! Where is my baby?"
I was confused. She got me totally confused there. [Who is her baby?], I thought.
I looked around to see if maybe... there was another baby in the room asides from me.
"There she is!", the murderer screeched.
Her loud voice made me look towards her and my heart skipped a beat as I saw 'Aunty Su' walking towards me.
The irritation I felt had no match. Bracing myself for Marlena's touch... Sitting there frozen as the hatred towards the person that had snatched my life so brutally from me, coursed through my veins, I waited for her to carry Du's body.
And she did.
"Du, baby!!", she said with such a grand and stupid smile on her face. She threw me up as if I was some piece of cloth. I wanted to shout, "Drop me!", but I didn't. I remembered the plan I had for 'Aunty Su'.
As I said, she will regret ever knowing me in the past life or ever knowing Du in this life.
I consciously had to stifle a smile that threatened to come on my face. Because the smile would have meant something different to me, and something else to her. 'Aunty Su' would think that I was happy that she was carrying me in her betraying arms. I didn't want that at all, so my face remained straight.
I wanted to gouge out her eyes and give her to eat them but I controlled myself. I just stiffened my body and let her think she was carrying her 'friend's baby'. It was so annoying... I can not explain how annoying.
"Du. Come and see, darling. I bought something for you"
I looked around the room, looking for my dear mother.
In my head, a cry for help was going on. [She wants to give me something, mom], I thought.
It could very well be poisoned. Nothing was beyond Marlena. Her wickedness was legendary.
I found my mom already opening the bags. "Where is the ice cream? I have been craving some since, Su. You have no idea", Mom said to her.
[Mom, wait a minute. This woman can not be trusted!], I thought and a whimper escaped from my lips. But mom's attention wasn't with me at all. I am sure she thought that she had left me in the hands of her best friend.
I had had enough.
"Down! Let me down", I said with a little cry of disgust.
"OH MY", Su screamed again.
[Shit. Can someone put like ten of my socks into her mouth?], I thought. Her voice vexed me.
"What is it?", mom asked her friend.
"She talks?!"
"Of course Du talks. What do you expect? She is so smart, that child", Mom said as she walked into the kitchen to pick some cups to share the ice cream Marlena had brought.
Su walked to the chair she had carried me from and put me back.
"Leave me", I said in a voice that sounded like a growl.
"What? What did you say, dear?", Su asked. Apparently, she hadn't heard me clearly.
I was happy about that.
I didn't want anything to be clear and straightforward for this 'Aunty Su'.
I planned on twisting her brains...
I planned on making her wonder if it would have been better not to have been reincarnated.
I smiled a sinister smile and watched as her brows creased as she stood confused.
