They were attractive in a pleasant way; small and fluffy. Their hisses and meows were calling for me. I found my body hypnotized and followed the sound of them blindly to play with them. The kittens were truly cute.
I had no idea about what she wanted to show me, or I should probably say, where she wanted to go, since she originally meant to go alone.
When we came there I noticed that the kittens recognized her as soon as we came close enough, it seems, they're familiar with her scent by now. She has, for that, probably been here a few times already.
They came running towards Adrienne but stopped when they saw me. Then, came closer and closer slowly, to make sure I'm no thread to them.
Adrienne bent down to itch one of them, behind the ear. The smallest one of them all especially liked that while the other two seemed to wait for her.
One sat close to her, on the ground, patiently waiting for something while the other one licked her shoes and patted on top of them, with her claws.
She looked at me and said, "what do you think?" I had no idea that there were kittens here. But, it was really great, I liked the aura.
They were in different sizes but pretty small altogether, maybe, about 3-7 months old for the eldest one of them.
Each of them looked unique. They had different colors but similar figures that you become aware of later. The smallest of them, that jumped into her arms, was the first one that I came to notice, she was white with grey details.
The one who sat quietly was all covered in grey with line patterns in a darker tone, I thought they looked kind of cool and she seemed very intelligent, to me. While the last one was almost all in black color. I'm having a hard time describing it to you. It looked to be black at first, but on a closer look it also appeared in a grey tone, when the sun shone I definitely thought it was dark blue with stripes of white hair.
Adrienne opened the bag she has been carrying with her. It contained food for the cats. She told me that she hasn't been here for some time, and they have not been fed so they are most likely hungrier than usual. She seemed worried about them, honestly, she's just like a kitten herself; her tsundere act and her bad temper at times, but she still manages to look so cute.
I liked the kittens even more when I thought that way. I especially fancied the intelligent one of them. She was probably not as smart as she looked to me, but perhaps tactful. She seemed to observe me as I fed her. Then when she became a little more comfortable, she let me cuddle her. The truth is, she was very cuddly and snugly afterwards, that's when, she started to trust me a bit...I think: cold on the outside but warm on the inside, just like someone I know.
I came to realize that I did not want the adorable baby, I held, to suffer, not any of her sisters too.
They are so small and adorable, how could anyone leave such cute creatures to struggle between life and death...

It was nearly three o'clock in the afternoon, we sat in the park, were the kittens are.
I started to feed them and gave Zachary cat food, too. They seemed hungry but all of the three kittens seemed to be fine.
As we were feeding them I asked him to continue were he left the story.
He said that he came to the bookstore to find me but how come he came with Mira?
"Zachary, continue were you left, okay?" and so he continued talking as he fed one of the kittens, she looked very comfortable on his... laps.
"I knew that you had not been in school yesterday and left early today therefore I thought you were busy doing something" he said. "I tried to think of the places you might go to and was left with the library and bookstore. I decided to go to the bookstore in the end."

"By the way" he said. "I also had something to show you!"
She realized what he was talking about and quickly turned her gaze from the kittens to the bag he had next to him. She was obviously very curious about it. "What do you think is there?" He asked her.
She thought for a second and said: "They don't sell canvas there and your brushes don't come in such sizes, of course." She reasoned with herself as he took what was in there out from the bag.

I had asked the worker there to wrap it up in paper for me. I know Adrienne like to open gifts, she would always look very happy when she does that. One time, she asked me to wrap paper around chocolate, she had asked me to buy. The fact that she was happy even when it was something so basic is cute. I can't think of something sillier that I've done, this was probably it.
I'm not sure if she was about to tear up, or if she couldn't believe it. But I believe that my gift touched her. I wish she had let me see her face.
"So… was it on discount?" she said, then. Gosh! Only she would ask me such.
The book wasn't on discount actually, but she gave me a personal discount when she knew it was a gift. The woman working there had seen me come with Adrienne a few times and became aware of Adrienne taking a look at the booka and wanting it. She asked me if I was going to buy it for the girl that would usually come with me, Adrienne, and gave me a discount when she knew. I was with Mira when I bought it so she probably thought it could have been for her too.

"Adrienne, are you free on Saturday?"
