Since that day I walked away from the roof my life returned to normalcy, well as normal as things can get in a super human society. Crime was a constant distraction for me, it also helped that I liked seeing the numerous zeroes in my bank account after a hard day.
I don't know why stain was so biased, cash like this is an excellent motivator for simpleminded people. Hell he should look up Maslow's hierarchy of needs so he can get a clue about why so many people are "fake" heroes.
Being a hero puts food on the table, it provides safety for your family in exchange for the person working a dangerous occupation, it satisfies people's esteem and allows them to self actualise.
The only thing being a hero doesn't help much with is relationships because it's a very competitive industry. Though the people you do befriend are thick as thieves. There have been numerous examples of long lasting friendships in the hero community like the wild wild pussy cats who have been insuperable since they joined up together 8 years ago.
Speaking of relationships in the industry, I began hiring some people for my hero agency. Nightlife and Mt Lady are amazing however they can't do it all. I'm also much better in the field than I am sitting behind the deck filling out paperwork for hours on end.
So I hired three new heroes; Call Girl, Magic Mike and Tango! The first hero is call girl whose quirk allows her to become a communication hub as she can tap into phone calls and messages as well as hijack them. She became my agencies operator as she assigns us where we're best suited, it also helps that she prefers being in the office as it's safer for her.
Magic Mike is a dude whose quirk allows him to produce illusions through moving his body. Basically he dances and hypnotises people, he can do stuff like after images or make people go slack in seconds. No he does not need to strip, he just likes showing off his abs.
Tango is the last hero I hired, her quirk is called Aggro which gives a hint at what she can do. Basically people will lock onto her and only have eyes for her until she cancels the quirk. She used it for modelling so that all eyes are on her before I offered her a spot. She attracts attention whilst the rest of us lay traps or attack them from behind. Her quirk can be cancelled but it's harder to do the more focused the target is on her.
It's been a little difficult training the three of them, call girl basically need multi linguistic training so she could perceive information in other languages. Some gangs aren't from japan so they don't leave data around in that tongue.
Mike needed to find out whether his style of dancing impacted his illusions, dancing like a stripper makes his quirk the most fast acting but other forms such as formal dancing can make the illusions more intense. Call girl got to experience being Bella in beauty and the beast. It also improved his illusions when there's music in the background so he invested in speakers for his costume.
Tango trained in evasion and increasing the number of people locked onto her, she can even make some people fight over her when she exhausts herself applying the quirk. Very handy for crowd control.
The others and myself just increased our work out routine and practised more hand to hand combat. Yu tried learning a grappling form specifically for people with expansion quirks now that she can control to what degree her size increases.
I just fucked around with spamming trees or making trees change forms without touching them. I need to be within a few feet to cause a dress shape to change but the distance is increasing constantly. I don't even need line of sight either because I can sorta feel nearby plant life now. I thought it was just me appreaciting nature when I was living out in the shack. Turns out I got a nature sense.
So I went for a check up under recovery girl at her private clinic. She just doesn't stay at UA all year round, she is an active hero who is needed for major injuries on the pros. Her clinic actually has several other healing quirk users working there but the higher up the chain you are the better the service.
I'm the number 11 right now so I get a fair amount of perks. I don't act like a grinning lunatic like half the hero community and I get results which means people with an edgier perspective aka teens and young adults prefer me over a lot of other heroes.
The medical examination reveals that my body is at super human levels so I can compete with strength enhancers. Futuristic supplements for the win~ it also showed that my quirk has increased in power and activity using the machine that David Shields made on I-island. All might is recorded to have a score off over 9000 but that was when the device was first developed.
So after getting a prescription for some vitamins my body may be lacking I got right back to work. I haven't been paying attention to UA lately but I have a feeling that the USJ incident should be happening soon.
I entered the break room in the agency to enjoy my Every pork burrito, when I unrolled the thing from the wrapper I was drooling. As I went to take bite the door was kicked in and Tango rushed in.
"Boss! A hostage incident nearby!" She screamed whilst I just looked between her in her tango dance costume and then back to my every pork burrito. I stroked it tenderly "I'll be back for you" before incasing it in wood to make sure no one eats my food..... again! As we rushed down the streets we met up with the other heroes.
Magic Mike and Mt Lady were already there, Mike turned and spotted me glaring at him. He raised his hands "come on boss, I'm sorry about eating your sandwich!" My bat glare just increased in intensity so he twitched and said "and drinking your blue mountain coffee".
I was about to get up in his face about eating more of my food when a maniacal laugh snapped us away from the beat down I was gonna give mike. I went full Ross Geller when he ate my thanksgiving sandwich.
The villain was names Habit Headgear and his quirk was inflating his trapezius muscles like a discount muscular. He had people trapped in his hands and looked like he was going to squeeze orange juice.
"See this lucky little family? Come after me and I'll snap there necks! Got that? Stay back heroes!"
Tango stared at him which made his gaze get drawn to her, Mike began rolling his shoulders starting up his quirk which made the villains grip loosen. I vanished behind him and began to morph my arm like katakuri's spiked limb. As I went to smash this guy like I was playing whack a mole a high speed blur impacted the villain and steam appeared everywhere.
My hand was behind my head about to swing when I heard "HA HA HA! FEAR NOT CITIZENS! Why? Because I AM HERE!" The civilians all began cheering "ALL MIGHTO!"
I just began marching towards the unconscious dumbass villain. He groaned so I stomped on him with my leg and morphed it around his body to make a restraint.
I began mumbling "old ass fog machine kill stealing" and kept mumbling my platitudes for all might. The others just looked at the blonde behemoth shooting off leaving a smoke trail and then back to me dragging the villain towards the cops.
Mt lady smirked as someone stole my kill again, she walked up and patted my shoulder "how's it feel shinji~"
"Horny!" "Eh?!?" My response threw her for a loop as I marched onwards. She looked at me and exclaimed "For real!?" I deadpanned her "no dumbass I just want to go eat my burrito."
She then let out a somber "oh" and looked like a kicked puppy which made me sigh. "You wanna split it with me Yu? It's an every pork burrito".
She snapped up "the one that takes eight hours to make?!" I just wiggles my fingers "I can multitask" she then began nodding rapidly. Mike then spoke "can I have some".
"You touch my food again and imma cut you".
He backed down so Tango laughed "boss I think there's some cheese dip in the fridge. I'll split it with you for a cut."
"Deal" I said with no delay causing Mike to exclaim "eh?! WTF! Your sharing with two girls but no me? Discrimination!"
I smirked under the mask "feel free to go to the courts and state that I wouldn't give you my meat but gave it to two girls." He froze at the innuendo whilst the women laughed. I'll tell you one thing, it was a good burrito.
