Chapter 25 - Drew Saturday #1

In the small town of Columbia, Arkansas, Columbus High School,

"So, girl, instead of going on a double date with me and Jason, you would rather stay cooped up in your room doing your science homework?" a teenage girl asked.

"Yeah, pretty much. Besides, you know I'm not good with blind dates." Another girl answers as she grabs her textbook from her locker.

 "But Dreeeeewwww!"

"Sorry, Mandi, but I refuse to be a buffer between you two and Jason's best friend." Drew said as she closed her locker and walked away.

"Oh, come on! That's not why I asked you!" Mandi yelled.

"Really, I could've told you that wasn't going to work." A teenage boy said.

"Oh, shut up June. You could've helped me convince her." Mandi said.

"Oh please, you and I both know there's no convincing her when she's like that. She's probably the most stubborn person in the world."

"Yeah, but I would've thought she would do me a favor." Mandi said.

Outside of the school, the football field

Drew presses a button on her watch, deactivating a cloaked vehicle. It was a gray convertible, built with small wings where the tires were. Climbing into the vehicle, Drew placed her bag and textbook down beside her leg. Activating the vehicle, Drew grabbed the controls and pulled up, lifting the vehicle in the air. The rears rockets activated and propelled the vehicle forward. Minutes later, Drew hovers over a large tree in the park and lowers down, causing the tree to disappear while revealing a large, deep hole. As she landed inside the hole, a tunnel opened, and she accelerated forward. Exiting the tunnel, Drew drove onto a platform.

"I'm back Saturday," she said as she picked up her bag and textbook.

"Welcome back Drew. I'm glad to say nothing went wrong while you were at school." Saturday said.

"Thank for the update. I should go and check on the experiments."

"I should remind you that your mother wants you home early for your grandmother's arrival." Saturday said.

"Right, I forgot. Keep me informed on any changes. Oh, and run diagnostics on the RCar. It felt a little sluggish." Drew said.

"I suggest a change in the fuel formula. Should I look for a better solution?"

"If you please," Drew said, leaving her bag and book on a table.

Sneaking in the shadows, a large, black wolf looks at Drew hungrily.

"Naala," Drew called, holding up a treat. Immediately, the wolf pounced at Drew, but Drew dodged just as quickly. "Nice try, Naala. You're going to have to try harder than that." Drew said as she threw up the treat. Reacting quickly, the wolf jumped and caught the treat. "Good girl," Drew said, walking away.

Suddenly, her phone rang. She looked down at her watch and seen it was Mandi. She groans and answers it.

 "Hello," Drew said.

"Drew! Don't hang up. Just talk to the guy. I'm sure you'll like him. Here… take the phone." Mandi said, quickly.

"Should've seen this coming." Drew thought.

 "Uhm, hello." A boy says.

 "Hello," Drew said, annoyed.

"So, this must be amazing girl I've so much about. Drew Saturday." He said.

"Flattery? Is that the best he can do?" Drew thought. "Sorry, I'll love to talk more, but I'm running a little late for a family dinner. See you a… Drew hung up the phone. "Whoops… Silly me. I pressed the end call button by mistake." She said, sarcastically.

Her phone suddenly rings again. "Hello?" Drew answers.

"Drew Ann Marie Saturday! Where are you?" Her mother yells over the phone.

"Mom, calm down. I'm right down the street. I'm almost home." Drew said as she walked towards the exit.

"Okay, but your grandmother will be here soon. And you know how she is?" her mother said.

"Super Traditional." Drew and her mother said simultaneously.

"And she wants all of us to be here to greet her." Her mother continued.

"I'll be there in a minute."

"Hurry please." Her mother said before hanging up.

"Jeez, she gets so high-strung when it comes to Grandma. Well, at least I could test out my new Anti-grav shoes now, but I didn't have a chance to fix the glitchy button. Wait, I forgot the bush's entrance on the side of my house. I had to close that entrance because Jr. got too close to finding it." She thought as she pressed her watch, activating a hidden shelf with hoverboards on them. "Perfect time to test the hoverboard prototypes." She said grabbing one.

"Bye, Saturday, See you later." She said before jumping off a platform into a tunnel.

20 mins later, At her house,

Drew's mother, father, her sister, and brother stood on the patio, waiting for her family.

"She's late." Drew's mother said, nervously.

"I'm sure your mother's plane is a little delayed." Drew's said.

"What!? Not her… Drew! She said she was down the street and was going to be walking up. Twenty minutes ago!"

Suddenly, a car pulls up.

"Oh no," Drew's mother thought as she and her family bowed.

Stepped out of the car, Drew's grandmother radiated a commanding aura. Following her, her father and siblings stepped out.

"No!" Drew's mother thought.

"I see you or your family haven't lost your heritage or your… You missing someone aren't you." her mother said.

"Oh, you must mea…

"AAAAHHHH!!!" Drew said as she flies out of the bushes into the sky. As she falls down, she tries to grab the board and get on it. Missing it by inches, Drew quickly aimed her watch at the board. "Wait," She thought before she clicked her heels activating her Anti-grav pads. Suspended in air, she took a deep breath. "They worked!" she yells, happily.

"Drew!" her mother yells.

Looking back, Drew seen her family staring at her floating thirty feet in the air. "Uh, I can explain." Drew said.

Two hours later, Drew's entire family stood in her room, waiting for Drew to explain.

"Drew, I thought you were taking us to your lab. What are we doing in your ro…

Instantly, they all were teleported to her lab. "Welcome to my lab. Please don't touch anything." Drew said.

"Oh,"

"MY,"

"God,"

Her father, grandmother, and mother said as they all were gawking at her.

"Come ….

"AHWWOOOOO!" Naala howled.

"NAALA!" Drew said rushing to the main platform.

"What!" her mother said as they followed her.

Arriving at the platform, Drew sees Naala howling at the computer screen, which showed the moon. "Oh no, Saturday. What's going on?"

"I've been tracking an alien armada that was passing the moon. I wanted to wait to se… Drew, your family has found your lab. Shall I start the family protocol?" Saturday said.

"No, not yet. This armada… Any contact been made?"

"No, the governments or any space program hasn't picked up on it. I guess because we scan all of the different frequencies of the spectrum. I doubt they even think about scanning one or two frequencies daily. Let alone all of them." Saturday said.

"Okay. Any ideas."

"In situations like these, you either fight, negotiate, or hide."

"Something tells me negotiations are out, and I really don't want to be stuck down here with my family. So release the lock on the vault and prep the suits. I'll head up their in the RCar and try to intercept them. I'll call for the suit if needed." Drew said as she put on a bracelet.

"Wait Drew!"

Naala immediately jumped in between Drew and her family and growled at them.

"Naala, come." Drew said. Immediately, Naala stopped and went to Drew's side. "Stay her and try not to touch anything. Saturday, if they do something or mess with something, initiate Family Protocol M2." Drew said.

"Family Protocol M2?" they thought as Drew walked away.
