Chapter 5 - chapter 5

19th July.

It's been three days since Neil last spoke to her. Speak? He didn't even see her. She has been absent these days and he got anxious with each day that passed. He couldn't comprehend what happened that day . The more he thought about it, the more confused he got. So, to keep his mind clear, he made a journal  for her. It was a childhood habit of his to jot down the things he found interesting.  Back at home, sitting on his study table he started writing things he knows about the mystery called mayvee.

Name: Mayvee Rana Singh

Age: 20-21

From: rajasthan

Father: police officer

Mother : ?

Sibling: ?

Interests: Crime/novel/study

Things about her that bugs me:

1. She disappears before classes get over.

Reasonable explanation:

a)Maybe she has someone to visit

b)Maybe she lives far away

c) Maybe she has a job

2. She was all normal until she heard my name

Reasonable explanation:

a) Maybe she knows me?

b)Maybe she heard about me from someone.

Something negative?

'But even if she did hear something about me from someone else, she would've asked me first right? Taking her intelligence and nature into account that's what she should do. But then again I only observed her as a third party. Only saw the things she showed. I don't know what she's really like.'

Niel was thinking hard, while continuously fidgeting with his Rubik's cube. He realised that he couldn't figure her out at the moment. He needed more clues, more insight to understand what she is, and why she reacted that way. After a complete  hour of overanalysing things he finally drifted off to sleep

Same night at Mayvee's____

No....please don't do this. It wasn't his fault. It was me. Saheb please...leave him. I promise I won't tell anyone anything.  I'll do anything saheb please let him go!!..No..no..nononono...Nooooooooooooooo!!

"Noo!!" mayvee woke up from her nightmare. She was breathing heavily and was covered in sweat.  She checks the time on her phone and sees it's almost 2am.   She gets off from her bed and moves towards wash basin where she splashes water on her face. "Fuck!! This shit just won't end!!"

She goes towards a drawer and opens a box of medicines. She takes one sleeping pill on her mouth and swallows it. She then walks back towards her bed and checks her phone for any texts. There was one which read "I love you  "...she reads it from the notification bar but doesn't reply.

She blankly stared at the ceiling fan that was rotating above her. 'Should I just end it? No, there's still a lot I need to do' She was trying her hardest to not remember that night, when everything ended. The horrible scream, the laughter of those people, everything was eating her alive. While continuing to stare at the ceiling, she saw her vision getting blurry. She blinked and tears rolled down her fair cheeks. The tears, which was supposed to not exist anymore for her started to pour out continuously. The forgotten memory resurfaced, and caused her heart to ache.

'Ha ha..hahahahhhh' she started laughing to distract herself from her agony, but those fake laughter soon turned into muffled sobs.

' I guess it's another sleepless night for me'
