Zura was happy. The little baby birds were happy. The big juicy bird was happy. Everyone was cheering. It was truly a nice moment. That is, right up until the big beast stopped over the nest and was about to drop Zura in. That is when shit got serious.
{Now!} [♫See baby now we got bad blood. You know it used to be mad love. ♫].
Zura took a deep breath, grabbed as far as he could up the thigh of the Condor, pulled himself up at an angle, and then let loose a sonic blast downward directly onto the shin bone connecting the birds thigh to its talons.
Zura clenched his one good wing onto the thigh of the Condor as its leg immediately shattered, resulting in a screech from the bird that made Zura certain his ears were bleeding, but he had no time to acknowledge it. The blast sent his body flying back and it took all the strength in his wing to be able to keep his fingers clenched in the meat of the thigh, pulling himself up using his left wing, biting into the feathers to steady himself, and then immediately pulling himself further up the body of the bird, while kicking his legs. He knew if he stayed down low, he would just be asking for the big beast to shred him to ribbons. He quickly crawled up the back of the condor as it frantically flapped its wings in an attempt to shake him off, however once his feet met feather, he was firmly looked into place. And once there, positioned in the middle of the beasts back, is when he sunk his fangs in and activated [blood drain].
That immediate sensation hit Zura in a way that no other feeling had ever or could ever compare. He could feel the blood flowing around his fangs as it were magnetized and being pulled directly down his throat. It was a euphoric feeling in every sense of the word. No outside stimuli could be heard and no thoughts could be perceived. He indulged himself to the fullest in perhaps the first act of unbridled impulse that he had ever undertaken in his life. Everything had always been thought out. Every move planned and carefully considered. Even the words he spoke, as rare as they would be. However, in that moment, his mind was filled, both consciously and subconsciously with the sweet taste of freedom. Zura was not certain how much time passed. It was wasn't until there was no more blood left to take that he removed his fangs from the body and opened his eyes. He stood there for a moment, dazed, and he probably would have stayed like that, if it were not for what happened next.
