Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - Hide But Cannot Seek

{You could not hear me?} [No.]

{Why do you think that is?} [...…..Many possibilities. None Likely]

{Tell me some of the possibilities.} [Host is not qualifie-]

{I get it. Then, I will leave you to your guesses and keep the answer for myself.} [.....]

'The system is not incorrect. There are many possibilities. Just off the top of my head, I can think of a few and that is based solely around my imagination, however it seems that the system is only thinking in terms of an individuals tier. Thus, I can surmise that the higher an individuals tier, the more abilities they possess. However, the fact that there are questions that the system cannot answer and guidelines in which the system has to follow, this means that no matter what the system says, it is not truly mine to command to the point that I could ever allow it to fully influence my actions, being that the system is clearly being prompted by a higher entity. An entity that has judged me to be qualified or unqualified based solely around my "tier". Their vision is clearly limited, which was indicated by the fact that the system was not able to deduce exactly how I did what I just did. The system can only operate within the box in which its existence has been confined, however I have no confines. Though, I also have no knowledge. I can work with this.'

These thoughts went through Zura's subconscious mind in the span of 1 second, however he did not notice the span of time. For him it felt like both 1 second, 5 seconds, or 10 seconds. Zura noticed when he was very young that even as he was thinking and working things out in his mind, there was always background noise. Originally, he thought that his mind was unfocused, scattered, however he banished that thought quickly and gravitated towards another. 'It is not that my mind is scattered. It's that my mind is capable of processing multiple lines of thought at the same time.' When Zura questioned his parents about this aspect they informed him of the conscious and the subconscious, though they did not know how to access the subconscious mind alongside the conscious. Nor did they know how to have more than one conscious thought occupying their mind at one time. That fell more into the realm of a split conscious, with the same personality. They simply viewed their subconscious as a manifestation of acquired knowledge, instinct and will, constantly mixing, matching, working and refining, until it produced a coherent thought pulled out by the conscious mind. It was only Zura who was able to peer into his subconscious and what he saw was an entire universe of thoughts, ideas, memories, and things that he never truly noticed even when consciously thinking back on a matter. However, it was not until moments ago that he was actually able to allow his conscious psyche to infiltrate his subconscious mind to form a coherent thought, and it is there that the system cannot access.

'Hm. It seems that my mind is becoming more capable. Is it an effect of the soul transitioning? Or does it have something to do with the insects that I ate? Whatever, at least I can think freely again.'

What Zura did not realize was that the act of completely suppressing ones conscious mind is not something that just anyone can do. It takes either a purely wild beast acting purely based on instinct, or an entity completely capable of controlling their conscious mind, normally in order to activate a state of profound meditation. Those are two of the possibilities that the system produced and rejected, because Zura is not capable of such an act at his tier...or at least he should not be capable.
