Twinkle, twinkle little sun,
Stabbed not once but thrice is fun.
Up above the world is blind,
Like an idiot in the sky.
The humid air subjugates the whole dome arena. The line towards the entrance was very long even though the arena was already full. Thousands of people gathered here. Everybody was very excited, some came from other countries, and the others came before the preparations began.
The cameras are set, the sound effects are ready, and the props are good. The only thing missing was me.
"Astrid! Only a few minutes left! Stop texting! The fans are waiting for you!"
That's Eny, my best friend. We met in a coffee shop a few years ago, she's very friendly to a lot of people, she debuted in the same agency as me but her luck in showbiz was not good.
"Yeah, I know... just let me say good by-"
And she took my phone away, she put it in my bag and sat across from me.
"Be serious about this!"
"I am serious, if I'm not then how can I get to this position?"
She rolled her eyes and walked out of the room. I lean back towards the seat and close my eyes to take a little break before the great performance.
"I come forth to you. Your time has come to an end. I'm -----I will allow you to grant one wish before you perish however your wish should not validate the law of the living and the death."
I fall out of my seat as I hear his gentle voice. How did he get here? Where is the security? Are they pranking me? The concert was about to start! Why would they prank me?
I sat back in my seat and looked at the person standing in front of me. Observing him he has a black cloak covering almost all of his body.
"I come forth to you. Your time has come to an end. I'm -----I will allow you to grant one wish before you perish however your wish should not validate the law of the living and the death."
He repeated it! I got very confused about what's happening. Analyzing his words...perish… who… me?! Why? Don't remember having an illness or having an accident.
"Hey, Ahm… I think you are in the wrong place...I will escort you on the way. Where will you be heading?" I asked him politely.
"I come forth to you. Your time has come to an end. I'm -----I will allow you to grant one wish before you perish however your wish should not validate the law of the living and the death."
This became very creepy. I feel goosebumps all over my body. Discomfort takes over me and I need to get out of here. So I ran out of the room and headed over to the restroom.
Gasping for air as I am exhausted from running. I tried to calm myself down and close the door. My sweaty palms are sticky so I washed them. After washing I grab a tissue paper and wipe my palms. The door opened and My first instinct was to hide. So I entered the cubicle before they saw me.
"Agh~"
One said. I sighed in relief. I thought it was the cloaked man but I was mistaken. There are two footsteps from two people and the voice earlier was Eny's voice and I was about to go out and talk to them but I subconsciously stopped hearing the other party's words.
"How was your plan? Eny."
"It was going smoothly as planned."
It was Ben's younger sister Danica. What plan? Are they planning to surprise me? It's not even my birthday. I can hear them finishing their makeup.
"By the way, Ben asked if you're available after this?"
" Tell him I would love to."
What is available? Are they hanging out? Are they giving me a surprise after the concert? Or something else…. I'm Ben's girlfriend. Everybody knows that he's my boyfriend.
"My brother will soon dump that arrogant Astrid. We would have not known that she is a slut if it wasn't for you Eny. If it wasn't for her fame we would not be with her in the first place."
"That's good."
I was stunned by the words she said...When did the lovely Danica become like this? She was pure and light-hearted when she faced me. Why would she do this?
No, no this can't be true I'm just dreaming, right? Just like the man in the black cloak, right? Please make this not true…
"The show was about to start, let's go."
And they left just like that...I got out of the cubicle and tried to hold my tears from falling to the ground. My legs tremble, I can't step my foot forward. My heart was in pain. It hurts so bad... I can't believe this. I felt betrayed.
I tried to calm myself and wipe those tiny droplets of tears. Breathing deeply, I strive to have the courage to walk out of the restroom like nothing happened. I came back to the dressing room and was about to open the door when I heard Ben's voice. I took a pick on the door out of curiosity and saw them hugging each other.
"Don't worry Eny you are the only one that I love."
I cover my mouth using my hands as my tears fall out of my eyes. I leaned against the wall and cried. I don't dare to look again. It's… very painful.
Now I know why sometimes when I invite them to come over they both have an excuse. I thought that they were just busy with their work but now… I knew.
"Miss Astrid, what are you doing on the ground?" The makeup artist asked.
"I'm just practicing my lines on the next song that I was about to perform, sadly it's a very very sad song. So I cried." I said to her while giving her a sad smile.
" As expected of Miss Astrid! You need to redo your makeup, Miss Astrid. It is quite damaged."
"Ahm, just give me a wipe and lip balm."
"But Miss Astrid-"
" I know but there is no time left, the concert is about to start."
In the end, she could only agree and took a wipe and lip balm inside the dressing room. I decided not to enter the dressing room for obvious reasons.
I removed my makeup and only the lip was shaded in. My manager saw me and she let it be. Since the theme of the concert was natural dreams, so was my makeup. A few minutes later I was on the stage. Dancing and singing, for a moment I forget about my problems.
After my final song, I looked up and saw many iron rods hook up directly towards me. I glanced to my left where I saw Eny and the other staff are. I looked at her and saw her mouth moving.
'Goodbye'
I tried to get out of there as quickly as I could but the iron rods already impaled through my body. It hurts a lot...My mind starts to become blurry. People started screaming and some tried to run away. Chaos is everywhere.
In my final moments, I was her, Eny wasn't moving in her place, she was leaning against Ben, comforting her while she smiled under her cries.
As my last breaths faded away, I saw someone...It was the man with a black cloak. Standing in the middle of this chaos. It was all his fault! If he didn't come into my life this would not exist!
"It was not me."
Then who would? You're the only one that came into my life and destroyed everything that I have worked for!
"I come forth to you. Your time has come to an end. I'm -----I will allow you to grant one wish before you perish; however, your wish should not validate the law of the living and the death."
"I wish… I Hope those who harm me will suffer the same consequences."
"I will allow you to grant one wish before you perish; however your wish should not validate the law of the living and the death."
"How can I make them suffer without-"
Now I think there is a way…
"BWAHAHAHAHA"
I haven't laughed this genuinely before… It kinda feels nice.
"Now I know my true wish. I want them to have dreams of me, every night, every day, and everywhere. So that they will never forget who I am."
A sinister laugh escaped my mouth.
"Your desire will be fulfilled now it is time for you to go."
I closed my eyes and thanked him with a smile.
After the incident at the concert. News reports that the iron rods were accidentally hung before the concert for more room to have. Some speculated that the incident was not an accident. And that was true after the funeral was set, one person told the media and the police about what happened.
She was in the restroom long before Astrid entered. She recorded all the conversations accidentally. The police also speculated that it wasn't an accident but a murder. They are not quite sure about it because the superstar does not have any enemies in and outside of the industry. After hearing the record, they look more deeply into this case.
At this point, Eny and the others are now suffering from delusions and insomnia. Some of them have already taken their lives. Rumor now has it that it was the cure of the fallen star Astrid.
Another employee came to light after noticing the rumors. He posted a picture with a caption of the minute before the concert started. The employee saw Astrid crying on the ground with the slightly opened door near her. He took a picture and saw that Ben (Astrid's boyfriend) was cuddling Eny (Astrid's Best friend).
This immediately went viral, Eny and Ben who were suffering from delusions and insomnia, now were harassed by the media for being cheaters. Ben can't handle the harassment and delusions, he tried to kill himself many times, but every time he did someone saved him.
As for the police, they found the person who was told to be the culprit. The person said that he was just following orders and he didn't mean all these things to happen. As he points fingers at whoever gave him the orders.
The line of the stick passes down to Eny. Since then Eny was about to be sentenced to death but her lawyer proclaimed she was mentally ill so the court decided to let her pass and bring her to the mental hospital where she was taken care of by the nurses who are fans of the fallen star Astrid. The End.
