Xavier was surprised as a jolt went through him.
He saw that the skill 'Friendly fire' was active. It means that someone from his own faction, that is the Star Academy, had planned to kill him.
"System, can you explain to me clearly what the other aspects of the skill are?"
When Xavier had previously asked what his skills did exactly as the descriptions were not clear at all, they didn't explain about the finest details about his the skill worked.
He only one that the skill activated when someone of his own faction tried to fatally harm him, but he questioned what was considered as a faction as there were many factions inside every establishment and even within the same faction, their were gross if people who were divided even further.
But now that the skill had activated it seems that it can be seen as a major faction in which he was a part of.
[It's not like that host. The faction which will activate the skill will depend on the exact level of Karma you have with the faction. For example, when someone from the South Star City Star Academy plans to kill you, the skill will activate but if someone from another academy tries to kill you, it won't activate as you are not considered a part of that academy even though you still are one of the Star Academy's students and all of them ultimately come under only one faction.]
"Oh, so it depends upon the among of Karma I have with the faction. But what are the Scales of Libra and the Chains of Karma? You said that those were skill armaments, are they used to actualise the skill?"
[Those are the treasures which come along with the skill. Do you think that like those other stories you read, the system will do all the things by itself?]
"Well it means you can't do that?"
Xavier didn't get any response from the system. After a minute of silence, seeing that the Xavier didn't move from that question, the system reluctantly said [Th.. that I can't do.]
Xavier grinned. In his thousands years of spending time with the system, while he had not learnt much about the system, he knew over thing. The system never lied.
[Of course the system never lies.] showed the system in his head.
"Ok, ok, what do the treasures do exactly?"
[Close your eyes host.]
Xavier closed his eyes, he suddenly felt a chill and soon opened his eyes. Now he was in a black void.
In the centre of this void was a magnificent existence.
A black balance was floating in the void. Xavier wanted to move closer to it and went in that way, but even after an hour of going towards the balance, it seemed like the distance didn't even reduce a bit.
Xavier finally have up and asked," Is that the Scales of Libra?"
[Yes host, infact it's both the Scales of Libra and the Chains of Karma.]
The black balance was completely pitch black, it was like any light which fell on it couldn't come out from it. The only way to see it was the absence of light which surrounded it just like his your saw a black hole.
On either side were two large circular plates which were held by 3 chains. These chains were golden and they went up and tangled up into balls of black and gold.
These balls of chains were suspended on a spindle shaped pole. In the centre of this pole was a ball which did the balancing of the whole treasure. It was a transparent ball and inside it were countless rainbow coloured cogs which were slowly rotating.
The system explained [The plates are the Tectons, they have the power to move the whoke universe and can either save them or destroy them on a whim.]
[The chains are the Threads of Luck. These chains control the Karma if all the living beings in the universe.]
[These threads go and join with the Chains of Karma. It's the black part of the chains and together they form the Locks of Karmic Luck. They control the Karmic Luck of the universe.]
[The ball in the middle which has the cogs, these cogs are closed the Cogs of Fate. They can control fate.]
Xavier who was listening to the systems explanation was socked.
He said," Isn't this a little too overpower? I mean it can control Karna, luck and fate so anyone who can wield it will be invincible."
[Hmph, do you think someone can wield this treasure so easily. It's a treasure created by the system and without it, it can't even be used as a normal balance used to weight things.] the system's voice sounded, thickly laden with disdain.
The system did not stop and continued taking [ The Scales of Libra will weigh down the Karma if your enemies and you and compare them. The more harm they do to you, the more bad Karma they will accumulate and when it reaches a certain level, the Scales will issue a Karmic Retribution, this retribution is brought about by the Chains of Karma.]
[The Chains of Karma will bind the person and in addition to issuing retribution, it will also slowly drain the target of his Karmic Luck and slowly make the target experience a series of unfortunate events.]
[And one the retribution falls on the target, chains will free him from their hold.]
"The skill is OP isn't it."
[Every skill given by the system is OP.]
The system did give skills which sounded very overpowered.
"So, how exactly will I know who have all participated in that plan?"
[Host, observe the Chains of Karma.]
Xavier observed the black chains and he could find strings of black going out of those balls.
[Those are the Chains of Karma which have been unleashed. They are now wrapped around those who planned to harm you. You can identify them by looking at them. Their bodies will be covered by black chains which will be seen only by you.]
"Oh, so that's good the skill works. Then, what about the retribution which will be issued?"
[It depends on the extent they are planning to harm you.]
"How will you know the extent they are planning to harm me?"
[The Scales will decide.]
"So it's there any other uses for this treasure?"
[Yes, they can divine your enemies intentions when the skill is active. And when the skill is not active, they can divine anything you want but only once a month.]
"Then can you divine what my enemies are going to do now?"
[Yes]
"Then start the divination."
As soon as Xavier time these words, the Cogs of Fate started turning faster, and after a few seconds, Xavier felt a flash of light in his eyes and he saw a scene.
In a jungle, he and Clara were running away and he saw five shadows coming behind them. He didn't know who those shadows were, but he could feel their strengths. They all were at the peak of Martial Master stage.
The shadows were about to jump on them but the vision suddenly ended.
Xavier felt his hairs stand on end as he experienced his fate shown before his eyes.
