While the five shadows were in hot pursuit of Xavier and Clara, Clara was socked to see that the aura of the five was reduced when compared to the first time she saw them.
"What was that potion that you the at them?"
"It was a poison that I created last night. The main function of that poison is that when someone of the Martial Master stage will inhale it, their power will reduce by one minor level."
Clara heard this and was shocked by the potion concocting ability of Xavier. But then she thought of something and said," Who didn't I get affected by the had then?"
"While the poison may seem magical, it was one that I concocted at the last moment as I didn't have much time to think about it and improve the poison."
"It also has many disadvantages. The poison can't work immediately. It has to react in the air for atleast 5 second to get activated and it only lasts for an hour. So if we can't escape within an hour, it will be very difficult to survive this."
Clara was socked by the effects of this poison. She had never imagined that there would be a poison of this level in the South Star City and even more so, it would be from her boyfriend.
While Xavier and Clara were running with all their might, the five brothers were also doing their be ready to keep up. This poison, because it had reduced their cultivation level, the amount of qi they could circulate was severely hampered and their speed was drastically reduced.
One of the brothers, not able to tolerate two brats trucking them, threw a spear. This spear was a normal spear which he carried around for Fun and not his main weapon.
The spear was infused with his qi and it came roaring towards Xavier and Clara.
Xavier sensed this coming, he took out the formation plate from the system storage and used his spiritual energy to activate it.
The 10 spirit crystals which were embedded into the formation some and turned into dust.
Suddenly a golden globe covered both Xavier and Clara and the spear which came screaming towards them refined with 3 times the force and sit directly at the one who threw the spear.
The man, not expecting that the two had such a trick up their sleeves was suddenly caught off guard. He tried to escape but it was all in vain.
The spear shot through the air and plunged itself into the man's chest. It was initially aiming for his heart but because of his quick reaction, the man penetrated his chest and the tip stuck out of his back.
"Forth brother!" the other four shouted in unison.
The man who was called forth brother by the others suddenly fell and rolled down on the ground. The other four stopped immediately and went to check up on their fourth brother.
Xavier who was anticipating this suddenly the out another potion vial which burst in between them and a gas spread all over them.
"Be careful! Hold your breath!" one of them shouted.
The other 4 immediately responded and even the injured brother held his breath. This action immediately asked their decisiveness and the toughness of the mercenaries who had been through life and death.
Meanwhile, Xavier who saw this while running smirked and went even faster pulling Clara and escaped inside the jungle.
'Idiots, do they think I'll use the same tricks twice.'
And as Xavier planned, the potion which was in the form of smoke coalesced into tiny droplets and fell on the 5 brothers.
The 4 uninjured brothers just felt a light itch all over their bodies but the last brother suddenly screamed in agony.
The Avram was got wrenching. Even Xavier and Clara who were running for their lives stopped and Clara who was just a maiden trembled in fear.
"Let's go. If they catch up, the next ones to scream like that will be us." Xavier posted her shoulder to calm her down and adviced.
Clara nodded. Seeing the bloodthirsty aura of their pursuers, Clara understood before that if they fell into their arms, it would be certain death but now hearing one of them scream like that, of they got caught now, they will be the ones screaming like that the next time.
The 4 brothers looked horrified at their fourth brother. He was trembling and screaming in pain as his face twisted to it was unrecognisable.
The poison fog which turned to droplets dug deep into the man's wounds and stored into his blood.
Slowly, he started to turn yellow and then green and finally he turned red as small blisters began to pop up all over his buddy. They blisters burst as numerous Milky white worms started showing their heads out of the blisters and started digging their way around into the skin near the wounds.
The third brother, who was closest to the fourth brother wanted to residue him and immediately tried to brush of the works but unfortunately for him, not only did the worms not leave his fourth brother's body but a few also stuck into his body and started to dig into his palm.
The third brother was scared out of his wits. He also tried to run away the works but he found out that they had already did get into his palms and it was impossible to get out.
Seeing his fourth brother find and his third brother who was going to fall into the same path, the first of the quintuplets grief his teeth, took out his sword and slashed at the third brother's arm near the shoulder.
"Aaaahhhhhhh", the third brother screamed as blood sprayed out from his shoulder.
The other brother took out s vital and poured out onto the cut off stump of the arm and the wounds visibly squirmed and started healing and finally the stump closed with his arm completely cut clean off.
The third brother looked at his eldest brother and said," Thank you. "
The eldest nodded but soon focused his gaze into the horrifying sight which was his fourth brother and felt his gut squirm.
The works which were coming out of the man's blisters became more and more and finally his old body was covered in worms and after 5 minutes, the worms left the body and there was nothing left.
There wasn't even a small piece of skin or bone left.
The worms which moved away from the body, like they had lost a source if life and they started withering away. They died into such like things and crumbled away.
The four remaining brother's eyes turned red. The eldest shouted, "Let's go. We will to then apart piece by piece and make them experience the same fate as our brother."
The other three nodded and then turned towards the direction in which Xavier and Clara ran.
They easily caught their trail and started following them.
While both Clara and Xavier got a head start of 10 minutes, they couldn't put up much of a distance between them and the 4 brothers and they were caught up to within 10 minutes.
Now, they were deep into the first and were about 10 kilometres away from the city.
While this was still the periphery of the first, they still had to be careful as the monsters outside the city were mostly of the Martial Master stage, the monsters were basically invincible against ordinary cultivators of the same level.
The pursuit was going in full heart when they suddenly heard a hiwl.
This was followed by a large number of hotels which were heading to the ears. When the 4 brokers heard this hearing sound, their faces changed immediately.
"Big brother, it seems that there is a pack of Blood Hyenas near by."
"Yes, and it seems that there are atleast 10 in the pack. If I'm not mistaken, there must be a sting monster beast here which has attracted the Hyenas here."
"What do we do brother?"
"Follow them. As long as we don't go near the Hyenas' pretty, we won't get attacked. Let's hope they are not foolish enough to go near them or else we won't get the chance for our revenge."
While the brothers were thinking of how to avoid the Hyenas, Xavier was thinking the exact opposite. He needed more participants in the fight to escape. The more Chaos occurred, the more chance he would have to get it of the clutches of the 4 brothers.
'There are about 10 Hyenas in the pack and from the sound, I'd guess they are about another 5 kilometres away from my current position. If I keep this pace, I'll reach the place by 5 minutes. Then what happens next week be decided by fate.' thought Xavier.
He then looked at Clara and said," When I give you a signal within the next then minutes, immediately pour all your spirit energy into your dress."
Clara didn't know why he had said so, but he still nodded.
Xavier and Clara then increased their speed and agree a few minutes they could see a huge cavern.
It was 10 metres tall and it was cooked with pitch black darkness.
Surrounding the cave were 10 Hyenas which were greedily during the cave entrance and salivating endlessly.
Inside the cave, there were 2 amber coloured eyes looking weakly at the Hyenas with hatred but at the same time arrogance.
The vertical pupil on the eyes looked at the pack with a will to fight like none other. The determination and bloodlust in its eyes shook both Xavier and Clara.
Hearing the incoming of both Xavier and Clara as well as the 4 brothers, the Hyenas turned and glad at them with hostile gazes.
The four brothers also caught up with them and stopped suddenly seeing that the situation was going to get worse.
The Hyenas barked at Xavier and Clara and jumped at the two and three for brothers behind them.
The four brothers' faces changed. The Hyenas were going to attach them and this was what they didn't want any more trouble than they already had.
The eldest brother shouted," Get into formation. We are retreating."
While 3 brothers got into formation, the last one, the third brother who had lost his arm, his eyes at lashed with madness and he grief the spear which was his fourth brother's weapon.
He grief his teeth and the it at Xavier and Clara and screamed," Die!!!"
The eldest brother who saw this said," No you idiot, you'll attract the beasts to you!"
But it was too late. The spear glowed as it blew past the brothers and flew right towards Xavier and Clara who were just in front of the Hyenas.
"Clara now!" Xavier shouted as they poured all their spirit energy into the clothes to activate them.
But of them glowed with a golden light just before the spear hit them and they were launched into the cave like rockets.
The strike was so powerful that the couple were launched into cave like 2 bullets getting past the herbs and the beast and going deep into the cave.
The Hyenas were frightened by the golden balls but soon they recovered from it and started at the group of 4 brothers. They growled with their eyes leaking killing intent.
The 4 brothers felt cold in their bodies as they slowly got into formation. If they were in their peaks and all five of them were together, the Hyenas would not pose much of a that but now, they were only 3 and half men and were going against 10 Hyenas.
This was going to be a tough fight for the Morris brothers.
