Chapter 10 - The Villainess and Her Ideas

As soon as the word magic escaped her lips, Fenrir snapped out of his daze and stared intently at her. Surely, he didn't hear her correctly?

"Repeat that." He tried to ask, but it came out more as a command with how surprised he was with what she must claimed she wanted. Did she really want nonhumans to serve her house?

Letting out a small yawn, she closed her book and began to walk towards the large balcony in her room, the scenery being nothing special except a bunch of trees.

Leaning on the ledge, she tried to think of how to describe it. "Humans are undoubtedly the weakest species out there, barely above that of wild animalistic beasts. I think it's better to have a group of knights that are nonhuman." she calmly said.

On the inside, she was slightly panicked. Did it sound that crazy? In the game, beastmen were much more powerful than humans, along with almost every other race. It's nearly surprising how they didn't try to war with humans when they could easily overpower them. It's not like they were described to be hostile, either.

Joining her at the balcony, he huffed. "As in any nonhuman? Do you know how crazy that sounds? Sure there are knights which aren't human but not a whole group of them!" He whined, turning his back to the ledge and leaning on it.

Shaking her head, she continued. "Then I'll just be the first to have a group of magic knights. If all my descendants will be magic users, surely a knight group of magic users doesn't sound crazy?" She asked.

Stroking his chin, he thought for a minute. "If you put it that way, no. It'd be better for them if their knights also used magic in case they lose control, too." He gave serious input.

Humming, she looked at the stars which were starting to form. "I really just want to admire pretty creatures who don't seem to age especially in uniform." She thought, deciding against saying her true intentions out loud. If they looked anything like Fenrir, she couldn't wait.

"I already have you as my personal knight, so it'd make sense to continue this trend for my descendants." She said, choosing to stare up into his eyes as she gave another reason to follow through with her idea.

Groaning, he gave in. He didn't wish to ruin any plan she had thought of, considering all the things she's told him so far have been entertaining enough, and surprisingly thought out. Surely she had a plan, he thought.

Hearing Fenrir agree, she sighed in relief as she had no plan whatsoever on how to recruit the knights, just that she wanted hot men or pretty women to be her knights.

"You're going to tell the king and queen about this plan, right?" He asked, raising a brow suspiciously. Earlier she had asked them not to keep tabs on her, but it seems like she was doing something that should require tabs on her.

Shaking her head, she tugged on her coat and made her way back inside. "It's fine Prince Hyre will be accompanying us up North, so it wouldn't be surprising if we find a village of vampires or something and someone just so happens to want to be my knight, right? Same thing with more villages in the north." She told, thinking of anything off the top of her head to avoid telling the royal family.

Nodding, he joined her back inside as she picked up the book again, continuing where she left off. "Do you have any plans for your social debut?" He asked, trying to break the silence between them now that she got what she wanted to say over with.

Relaxing her chin on one arm, she closed her eyes as if deep in thought. "Hmm, not yet. Neither I nor my brother have had it, but it'd be better to hold mine first, as the duchess. It's best if I held it after the ceremony of my new title and name." She explained, if she held it before people wouldn't know who she was, and it sounded like a pain if they were to cause trouble, especially since she wasn't officially an Aezirian citizen yet.

"You're right. For the next two months after the exploration it'd be better to start with the estate, you'll need to get settled first before a debut." He grinned, excited for the future while he's with her. Surely, this debut wouldn't be normal too?

Now that she could focus back on her book, she sank back into her chair and flipped through the page of monsters she could encounter while exploring the north, a mild concern for her, but it got her thinking.

Perhaps these beasts could be used as a resource? Cows produced milk, which created all sorts of goods. She wasn't sure if livestock would survive up in the north near where she planned to live at the tip, due to how much colder it gets the farther north.

She really wished she knew more about livestock other than they were cute, she thought. She'd love fresh milk and eggs in the mornings, but it'd be a problem if she couldn't get any because she was freezing the poor things to death. But perhaps if there was a similar beast who thrived in the north, she would be able to raise them?

Just as she was about to ask Fenrir's opinion, he had snapped his fingers and reverted back into the clothing he was first summoned in. Sending her gaze, he explained himself. "It's been nearly a week since you've summoned me and I'm still a demon. I'll be back in a little while."

Nodding, Estella went back to reading as he made his way to the balcony, jumping down and disappearing in almost an instance. She supposed the cat like Fenrir wasn't the only side to him, of course. The only reason she hadn't seen him act like a true demon was because she told him to temporarily act as her personal knight.

She wondered if the book contained information about other magical beasts, or other races to be exact. Perhaps demons? A part of her wishes to call a maid to bring her a book about all the races in the world, while another part of her said she probably didn't want to know just what Fenrir was doing yet.

Sighing, she decided to get changed into nightware while he was out, and put on something a bit warmer. She worried a bit that if she was cold but the night breeze, would she be able to survive the north?

Perhaps if she could apply modern technology to her estate, it'd be much easier to live in? Such as a heater, except one problem came up.

Sure she had knowledge of her past life, but it nearly felt impossible to put that to use. She wasn't a genius who knew how to make a heater, or an engineer in the slightest. Reincarnation cheat knowledge was harder than she thought. In order to use it, she actually needed to know how it worked.

Perhaps she'd convince Duke Von Pryrrhos duchy to let her have one of children to warm up her house, she laughed. If only it was that simple, she thought. Perhaps it was? Maybe one of them would agree to be her concubines.

Though she would rather not do that, it nearly felt like she'd be insulting the Von Pryrrhos family if she said she wanted to marry one of them to use their fire magic solely for a warm house. She also had never met any of them, so it'd be bad if their attitude was as fiery as their magic, and she was able to even talk to them properly. Perhaps she'd find another magic user who specialised in fire, she hoped.

Laying on her bed, her mind went over all she did today, and how exhausted she was. She met the royal family, received the north, had part of her crest chosen, started the knights, discussed her ruling plans, and even planned an expedition, all before officially breaking up with her fiancé.

Tomorrow would be a big day as well, going into town and looking at the architecture and different shops, she doubted there were any farmers in the capital, so she'd have to wait until her return trip to find out more about livestock from a professional's standpoint.

As she shut her eyes and let sleep envelop her, she thought back to Fenrir, and his disappearance. She told him tomorrow would be a big day, so she trusted he'd be back from whatever in the morning, at least.
