~Is this what it called jealousy?~
It was a beautiful morning where the sun shined brightly. Most importantly, it was still a holiday for university students, so they could have a great day. Such a perfect day for a picnic with friends.
"Vict, you look tired. What happened?" Jovan, Victor's best friend, asked with a worried face. They were having a picnic at a garden with Elanor and Eve.
"Do I look that tired?" Victor asked, which made Jovan look more worried. "Don't worry about me that much. I'm okay," said Vict. She noticed his best friend's worried face.
"Really? Make sure you have enough rest. It's a holiday after all," Jovan was still worried about his friend's condition. He then looked toward Elanor and Eve. "Well, your condition looks much better after you meet her. I can see she takes good care of you."
Victor followed Jovan's gaze. "Well, we take care of each other," he smiled. 'No one knows I'm restless because of her.'
"Talking about Eve. How's your relationship with her going? Do you have any plan to actually date her?" Jovan became curious all of sudden. Vict and Eve had known each other for a long time, but they were still friends.
Victor squinted at Jovan, then he chuckled. "Why are you asking that? Well, we're fine just like this. Come to think of it, you changed quite a lot after you dated my sister."
Jovan blushed. "Wh-What do you mean? Am I really changed?"
"Well well. My sister really changed you. Before you knew her, you were more timid and even had no courage to approach her. But now it seems like you have more energy."
While Jovan and Vict had a conversation, Eve and Elanor had a discussion. They planned on a collaboration work. "What are you talking about?" Vict came to their side. "Let's have some food. I'm hungry."
"Vict! We were talking about a project. I think we can make a good one!" Eve said with a bright face.
"Really?" They were talking as they were preparing the ingredients to cook the food. "What kind of project?"
"A smart home project. I will design the home and Eve will install the system," Elanor answered happily. They had planned a lot for the project and only some small things left before they could really do it.
"Sounds cool," commented Jovan. "Oh wait!" His eyes widened. "Uhmmm, Ela, Vict…. Uhmmm" He was hesitating to continue his word and looked to Evelyne for help.
"What?"
"Why?"
Both Victor and Elanor looked at him, confused. Evelyne who understood the condition explained. "Both of you can cause an accident while cooking. So just stay still and let him cook. I'll help him."
"But Eve-"
"Eve!-"
"I agree with it. I don't want an accident, so I hope both of you also agree with us," Avi continued before Victor and Elanor finished their protest. "I don't even understand why both of you are really good at everything but cooking."
Victor and Elanor couldn't say a word and just watched Jovan cooking with Evelyne helping him. Their faces were clouded and deep inside their heart they didn't agree to the decision.
"She always wanted to learn a new recipe, but has no time to cook it," Victor muttered in annoyance. He then looked at Elanor, "why don't you say something?" He whispered to his sister.
Elanor who was annoyed already felt more irritated. "Why? Why don't you stop them yourself?"
"Well, Jovan is your boyfriend, so I think you will stop them. Aren't you jealous?"
Elanor suddenly smiled. She got an idea to tease her brother. "Well, it's true that I'm jealous. But, why do you want to stop them? Are you jealous as well? But Eve is just your friend," Elanor rubbed her chin.
"We-well," Vict was thinking so hard for a good reason. "It's because Jovan is my best friend and your boyfriend. So isn't it normal to stop them?"
"Hahaha… That means you're jealous, bro!" Elanor laughed to her heart content. She was super satisfied teasing this man. "So, why are you not officially dating her?"
Eve who heard everything was shocked. Her eyes widened and she almost choked. "What are you saying Elanor!"
"But I think she's right, Eve. Both of you are close enough and even helped both of us to get closer," Jovan smiled while he was putting the food on the plates. "Well, I won't force you. It's just my honest thought."
"I see... Well, I will consider it. Thank you."
The talking about Victor and Evelyne ended just like that and they were now eating. As expected from Jovan's cooking, even though it was only a simple baked potato and sausage, it was extremely delicious.
"Now I suddenly think about it. In a few days a new semester comes. Seems like it'll be tough for all of us," Elanor started a conversation as she chewed her sausage. "I will have a lot of house planning projects. Well, I can do the design, but calculating everything is hard."
"As expected from an architecture student. Well, it's not that tough for me. I will have projects as well, but similar to our house project. In a more complex way I mean," responded Eve before she took a spoon full of potato. As a computer engineering student, making an automation system wasn't a big problem for her. She may be confused at some complex part, but she used to solve all her problems well.
"Indeed, you're really good at your stuff. I envy you, Eve," said Elanor. "Jovan. If I remember it right, you'll have a big test, right?"
Evelyne gasped. "Should I ask my uncle to give you some days off?" She asked him in worry.
Jovan nodded slowly. "Yes. And I'm nervous because I don't know what to make for that. I can cook but doing it with art and for a test is something different." Then he shook his head. "It's okay, Eve. I think I can handle it. If I really need some days off, I'll tell your uncle directly." Jovan was a culinary student and he would face an exam, where not only the taste would be scored.
Victor laughed. "Don't worry about it too much. You can prepare it. If you need something you can tell me or my sister. We will prepare ingredients that you need."
"Thank you Vict. And how about you? You'll have an internship at a hospital right?"
Talking about an internship at a hospital made Elanor remember something. "Are you going to the same hospital as Raimond?" Vict nodded his head. "Woahh… It's been a while since the last time I met him."
"You're right. I kinda miss him," Eve also responded. "The last time I met him was when I needed a medical record for entering uni. After that I haven't visited him yet."
Raimond was Victor and Elanor's older cousin. Like Victor, he was a medical student and after graduated, he worked at a hospital. Since then, Eve visited him if she needed a medical check up.
'Raimond…' Victor's heart became uneasy when Evelyne talked about Raimond. She was closer to Raimond before him, so there was a feeling of insecurity in his heart.
"Hmmm, isn't Eve's apartment closer than yours to that hospital?" Jovan said while looking at Victor.
"Oh right!" Elanor shouted a bit. "Then why don't you stay at Eve's place for the time being?" She suggested.
"Elanor!!!" Both Evelyne and Victor shouted.
Eve's face turned supper red due to the embarrassment. She couldn't even imagine staying with Victor.
The same went for Victor. Elanor's suggestion was a good idea indeed. But, he felt awkward and weird just from imagining it.
Seeing this couple-like friend embarrassed just from the word of staying together made Elanor bursted into laughter.
