Chapter 8 - Favourite Things

Today Evelyne had no schedule at all on purpose. She noticed that her refrigerator was almost empty so she had to go and buy ingredients to stock in it. This morning, after she finished her morning routine, Victor came to her apartment.

"You still not ready yet?" He asked with his hand shoved in his pocket while the other hand was fixing his glasses.

Evelyne just giggled with a smile. "Well, I just finished cooking for breakfast and other chores. Will be ready really soon! Just eat breakfast first!" She ran to her room, making Victor sigh with her act.

While waiting for Evelyne to get ready, Victor walked to the kitchen and ate his breakfast. 'Delicious.' He smiled brightly while chewing the food. Indeed, anything Evelyne cooked was special and delicious for him.

"Victor! Can you help me!" Victor just finished his last bite and Evelyne called him for help.

"Wait for a moment!"

After Victor tidied the kitchen, he went to Evelyne's room and opened the door. Her room wasn't as big as her study room. There were only one double bed, a small desk with a yellow lamp, a cupboard and a mirror in it.

When Victor walked in, he found Evelyne, wearing a pastel blue shirt and white jeans. "What happened?" He asked her.

"As usual." She giggled. "Can you help me do my hair?"

Victor sighed and walked toward her. One thing that Evelyne always asked Victor for help: doing her hair. She had long black hair, and yet, she sometimes had a hard time deciding what she should do with it. Apparently, Victor was quite good at it, so she let Victor do her hair every time she was confused.

"Anyway, now I think about it," said Victor while combing Evelyne's hair. "Do you like blue that much? Everything in your room and study room is blue. You even mostly wear blue clothes and blue hairpin."

Evelyne nodded. "Blue is my favourite. When I was a child, I loved red, then it changed to pink, then… I don't know, I forgot. Then I'm not sure since when, I love blue." She explained.

Victor chuckled as he finished braiding Evelyne's hair and tied the end. "You love a lot of things. What blue do you like the most? Or is it just any blue?"

"Let me think about it." Evelyne tilted her head and hummed. "There's time I like the dark one like navy, but sometimes I love pastel. Well…" she moved her focus from the mirror to Victor. "Your blue is the best!" Evelyne mentioned victor's ice blue eyes and hairs.

Victor was stunned as he wasn't ready for what Evelyne said, but quickly, he hid it and his red cheek. "My blue?" He checked his reflection in the mirror. "Ah, I see. Alright, now, you're ready. Let's go." He said it to hide that he was shocked.

"Whoa, you're really good at this! Thank you Vict!" Evelyne admired how she looked at the mirror. "Let's go." She left the room, with small jumps while walking. Victor just followed her from behind as he was trying to calm his heart down.

After making sure that the apartment was safe to be left, they walked out to the parking lot and got into Victor's car. Evelyne sat beside Victor who was driving, looking out from the window. The scenery along their way was simply tall buildings here and there, but it was somehow calming.

"You look somewhat happy today." Commented Victor as he drove his car. They were almost at the mall.

Evelyne turned her gaze to Victor. "How could I not? I don't have anything to do except for this shopping." Evelyne wasn't a big fan of shopping clothes, bags or some branded items. What she loved was getting out of her space to get more fresh air and mind.

"Hahaha, you have to go out more often, Eve!" Victor laughed.

They arrived at the mall, and after parking the car, they entered. The first scent that came into Evelyne's nose was the coffee scent from the cafe. "Seems like I'll buy a coffee as well."

"No! It's bad for your health," Victor opposed it. "You already have enough coffee, Eve. Try to reduce it." He was super sensitive when it came to Evelyne's health.

"But, Vict…" Evelyne used her trick to get Victor to agree. She showed her cutest puppy face she could ever make, which Victor couldn't resist. "You know that I love coffee, right?"

Victor chuckled as he rubbed Evelyne's head. He looked in another direction to avoid her face that had the potential to change his mind. "Yes, I know that. Now, let's go there." He pointed his finger at the grocery store, where they planned to go.

Evelyne just pouted her cheek that she failed to convince Victor to let her have a coffee. "Yeah yeah… Let's go in."

In the store, they were taking in their daily needs to the trolley. Mostly, those items were food ingredients like onion, meat, rice, seasoning, oil, and so on. Other items were milk, fruits, and snack stocks for a month or two.

Evelyne's spirit came back once she saw the chocolate area. She took about ten chocolate bars from it. Not only that, she then ran to the ice cream freezer and took 3 ice cream buckets and twelve ice cream sticks and cones.

"Are you nuts? Do you want to go to the hospital that badly?" Victor asked in shock when he saw Evelyne back with another trolley full of snacks, chocolates, and ice creams. He was focusing on some daily needs that he or Evelyne may need and separated his way with Evelyne.

"What?" Evelyne shrugged, didn't care what Victor said.

"Evelyne! You know that you'll definitely get sick if you eat that much chocolate and ice cream, right?"

Evelyne sighed and nodded. "Yes, I know. Anyway, I won't eat them all at the same time though. My sweets stock has been empty since two days ago."

"Alright. Don't eat them too much or else I'll tell your mom!" Telling Evelyne's mom was the best threat Victor could do when Evelyne was in this state.

"Yes, yes. Don't worry."
