The two children didn’t get along well because Steven always bullies Sofia. Steven is eleven years old at that time and Sofia is nine. Rosie's husband is working in Canada, died in a car accident there and because of that, she and her son went to Canada. After ten years, Steven graduated from college and his mom decided to go back to the country because of their business. The two close friends, Rosie and Helga met again. Upon seeing her friends’ daughter, Rosie planned to arrange a date between their children and Helga agreed with it. In the end, they were more surprised because Steven already confessed to Sofia. They’re still confused about how Steven managed to confess to Sofia even though he always bullies her in the past, but they didn’t say a word. Eventually, Rosie Williams decided to expand her business and stay in the country for good after knowing that her son Steven wanted to stay and get closer to Sofia.

Chapter 1 - STEVEN

Steven Williams, a fresh graduate of Electrical Engineering. They moved to Canada ten years ago, since his Dad died, but they went back to the Philippines today because of his mom's business.

He cannot believe it. Today was his first summer vacation, and he was supposed to be still on the bed at this very hour, but his Mom keeps on calling and instructed him to go to her friend's house. So, he drove up to the town very early.

Now, he's outside the house of the Mendez family. He parked the car outside, hop out and stroll up to the gate. His mom's friend had a daughter named Sofia, and she was two years younger than him. She's fat, she has big round eyeglasses, and always wore long faded pants, a loose t-shirt, and her hair was always messy. She looks so horrible!

He smiled as he can imagine how ugly she would look today after ten years.

He's in front of the door now, eyes down busy tapping on his phone while his other hand reached for the handle, he was about to pull it but the door suddenly open.

A tall, fair-skinned girl, black eyes, long straight hair, with pink lips looks up at him. Their eyes remain locked for a moment, he looked at the woman confused as she smiles warmly at him.

She's Sofia Mendez, a senior high school student from a technical school around Manila. She stayed in an all-girl apartment during school days, but during summer break she goes home to Parañaque and stay there until the next school year starts.
