It was the blazing sunlight that made Zhu Su come awake. He did not notice that he had fallen asleep.
So strange. Wasn't I still outside yesterday, chatting with the God of Medicine? Or... is this all just a dream? A dream which is merely a reflection of my wish to meet with the God of Medicine...
Zhu Su rubbed his eyes. Although he had been awake, yet he was so weary, as if he still needed to continue his rest. He realized however, this condition appeared because of the pressure in his mind he was suffering from.
Because of the punishment that had been unfairly handed down to him.
"... you're not fit in the way of medicine. Cleanse your heart from hatred first. Then you are permitted to study medicine..."
Once again, the words said by the God of Medicine last night echoed in his ears. He was not really sure whether the meeting with the God of Medicine was real or not, it was unsuitable to categorize it as a dream since he could remember all scenes and every of their conversation very clearly. And, Zhu Su had to admit, the rebuke from the God of Medicine gave him much distress in his deepest heart.
How could he wholly eliminate the hatred for his father? He even yearned for having his father change with someone else in spite of the consequence in which he would lose the title of Fan Wang. How deep the pain his father had wounded to his heart by suspecting him who was the emperor's own son. It was more painful because all started merely with a petty and meaningless joke, but then his father had such the merciless heart to punish him all this way. And now, he must eliminate this hatred?!?
He was positive that, he could not do that.
"... you're not fit in the way of medicine..."
It's okay, then, so it be! I'm indeed tired of living in such an unfair world! Furious, Zhu Su returned to his original position, ready to go back to sleep again.
"Excuse me, Your Highness. May I come in?" A sound of knocking from behind the door came into his ear.
This voice... is he the government official who came here yesterday? Zhu Su answered languidly, "Yes, come in."
The door opened with a creaky sound. It was indeed Wu Qi. He was bringing a tray with some tasty food above it.
"Good morning, Your Highness. How are you today?" Wu Qi stared at Zhu Su who was still at the half-lying position on the bed. "Do you feel unwell, Your Highness?..."
"Yes... a bit..." replied Zhu Su weakly.
"Then I will call the physician to examine your body."
"It's no need!... I... maybe I'm just tired..." Zhu Su moved slowly, then sprang out of his bed.
Wu Qi looked at him with hesitant eyes. "Don't be hard to yourself. You should take rest if you feel unwell."
"Ah, just normal tiredness. The distance I've taken through few weeks ago is so far." Zhu Su approached his food on the table. "I've got enough rest. Have you had breakfast?"
"I have, thanks for your caring."
Zhu Su kept staring at Wu Qi. Wu Qi thus soon realized the meaning of Zhu Su's staring. "Your Highness, from now on it is my duty to always be on your side. I will be your bodyguard as well as your assistant during your stay in Yunnan."
Zhu Su frowned. "Oh... So my father has given you duty to tail me and lurk what I'm doing here?"
Wu Qi blinked, confused. "Eh.... but the order I get doesn't sound like that..."
"Never mind. Don't look for excuses anymore. I've known Fu Huang's true intention." Zhu Su ate the last spoon of his breakfast. "I want to take a walk to see Yunnan. Can you accompany me?"
"Yours to command, Your Highness. That is indeed the reason why I'm here." Wu Qi was glad as Zhu Su stopped cornering him. "Please follow me. I will show you the beauty and splendor of Yunnan."
