Youden was dosing off in the carr until a loud noise quickly woke him up during the middle of the night. They were still driving on a dirt road for several hours now, Ariocasters flying above, continuing to drop their bombs on their given targets. They were supposed to be heading to another small town called Tyime, where his troops had apparently captured hours ago, but were facing some resistance ahead. Perhaps they've finally caught on, Youden pondered, but then again it wouldn't take long to figure this out.
As they were going over a hill, in the distance, Youden could see the town, smoke-filled it's air and big explosions as far as he could see. They weren't kidding about what they were dealing with.
"How close do you want us to be sir?" the driver had asked him.
"Until we're only a few yards away from them," he replied back.
In a few minutes, they've passed an old fence that marked an entrance to the town. It was quiet and eerie if there wasn't a battle happening ahead of them. Some of the buildings had large chunks blow out of them, their gaping holes revealing what was inside. It was as if it was a normal day for these people, as he could still see the bowls of their dinners still sitting in a few of them until they came in and took it away.
An Ariocaster flew low over them, and Youden watched as it dropped its bomb, scattering some of the Saputa's soldiers that were there. He noticed some of his soldiers hiding behind a building, attempting to pick them off with their taboons or powers.
"What's the problem?" he yelled over the noise as he hopped out of the carr and hid with them.
"We're encountering more of the other forces here than expected, sir. It seems as if they were preparing to come to us, at least in this area." a soldier replied to him, ducking down, as an ice shard dug deep into the building behind him.
Youden watched a tarr slide in a gap between two of the town's buildings and fired a round into the army. He watched as several bodies flew into the air, before resting back on the ground, not budging at all.
"Looks like more tarrs are arriving, and soon enough you guys should be able to push. Keep following your commander's orders." Youden explained to them.
The soldiers near him nodded and continued applying pressure at the enemies. He ran across the road, avoiding several attacks and blasts from the other side. What was he thinking, the leader of the nation running in the open during a battle? He was insane. He crouched beside a few other of his soldiers who were crawling around the other side, preparing to ambush them from behind. He didn't press onward and watched as they crept around the building, before firing upon them. He heard screams and people running and tripping, as well as hearing a call to retreat.
He was pleased. They had won the battle as the soldiers all around him kept pushing onward, firing at the fleeing troops. As messed up as it was, war was never beautiful, and one couldn't persuade him otherwise. All our advancements all had their purpose and they were serving him just righteously, and it showed that having more people in your armies didn't mean anything. It only mattered if you played your cards right. Boom would have to come to him, as well as the other "Supers" or whatever they were called last time he was here, to put an end to this. But what could they do against this? If they tried to attack him at full strength, they might kill some of their own troops on their side if they were in another battle. He didn't care, but Boom would die, and he would make sure that would be a fact. Their side was already winning this war, and nothing could stop it.
"Sir, you need to be more careful. Who knows what could happen if you get injured or die." the driver rushed beside him.
"I'm aware, but I couldn't be any more impressed. It was stupid for me to do so and I'll apologize. We must go back to Franport and check on any of the latest reports now. Let's not keep them waiting." he eagerly said.
