Lucifarge sighed and descended slowly. When he got down, he kept a close eye on the ogre approaching it from behind. He tried to keep his breath so that he would not be sensed by the ogre. And as the ogre approached the wolves, he was complacent.
But the monster turned unexpectedly, causing him to gasp. He hid back immediately behind a tree, to his horror. Inquired the System as to how the ogre noticed him.
"What the hell? System, how did he notice me?"
[Dear Reincarnator, be aware that you are emitting killing intent. Killing intent implies hostility toward an individual, which they can sense depending on the distance and their ability.]
Lucifarge beat himself up for his stupidity. Things back on Earth obviously don't work here. Even the killing intent is something that's not easy to sense. He immediately became complacent and left his guard down. And now, with his location exposed, he's at a disadvantage.
"System, are ogres in this world tough?" He asked to learn what is the difference between Earth's description of ogres and actual ogres in this world.
[Yes. Ogres are harder and stronger than hobgoblins, Dear Reincarnator.]
Ethereal Dawn, the name of this world has a huge difference between Earth. Earth was practically a world of science and technology, while Ethereal Dawn is a fantasy world. They basically don't pay much attention to science, and their technologies are applied by magic, not science.
'Oright!' Lucifarge boosted up.
He came out of his stand. When he came out, he saw the smiling, smug face of the ogre. Not only was he smiling, but the ogre's face was also annoying to him.
"Grawl! Rigru Moden Lifru---"
'Hey! I will be a Demon Lord. You might want to be one of my servants? Let them go, and I'll assist you in remaining strong.'
[Why would you do that? Your quest was to defeat that ogre, Dear Reincarnator.]
Lucifarge tries to talk to the ogre, but he was just annoyed when the ogre laughs. The ogre understood what he was saying, but he was just ignored.
"/You? Demon Lord? Stupid! Don't make me laugh! No one has evolved as a Demon Lord over the past six decades!/"

"Sweet! I immediately learned a new skill just by simply conversing!"
Excited, Lucifarge shouted out the good news. He didn't believe that it was true that 'every move he makes contributes to his growth'. His skill,
"/You don't want to believe it? Come closer, I'll punch you, and if you fall, surrender."
The ogre just snorted. Knowing that a hobgoblin can't defeat an ogre and he had sympathy for his fellow smaller giants, he simply followed what Lucifarge said. But he didn't know that Lucifarge was cunning and unfair, using the system to his advantage. The ogre doesn't know what will happen in the next few events.
"/All right. If you can't take me down, I'll take you down./"
At the threat of the ogre, Lucifarge just gulped. While not being bothered by his nervousness, he nodded and grinned. He slowly approached the ogre, making the distance between them become 2 feet.
Lucifarge was about to punch. He gathered all his strength into one blow, targeting the ogre's chest. But his blow did not show any results, making the ogre laugh.
*Ding*
"/See, you can't knock me down. Now I'll knock you down./"
The ogre raised its fist and hit him, but he was a little bothered to see Lucifarge grinning. Knowing that goblins are known for tricks, he becomes wary of Lucifarge as hobgoblins are just one evolution above goblins. But when it hit Lucifarge, he flew into a nearby tree. The ogre chuckled again as he saw Lucifarge fly by with his fist.
"/I thought you were something. You even smiled. Are you happy that you woke up from your dream of becoming a Demon Lord?/"
*Ding* *Ding*
Lucifarge just groaned, enduring the pain he had just received. He shook his head to bring back his senses before he slowly stands.
He smiled and spit red blood while groaning. The ogre also noticed the hue of the blood, which made him taken aback for no pure monster had red blood.

"Argh! You have no idea how painful that was. I never said I'd knock you out with a single blow. That is to say, I would knock you out in any way possible."
Lucifarge did not pause any longer before approaching the monster. The ogre's gaze shifted as a result of the unexpected speed. When Lucifarge approached the ogre, he hit him in the jaw. The ogre's jaw ached, but it did not go away, making its eyes gleamed with irritation. He considered the pain to be an unacceptably unpleasant feeling.
*Ding*
The ogre punched Lucifarge back, but this time he wasn't pushed or thrown. Instead, he was standing firmly with his mouth grinning.
"That won't work."
Another 'ding' rang out around Lucifarge as he pounded one after another. The white wolves trailing the ogre were taken aback by the strange occurrence. Due to a hobgoblin attack, the ogre was being pushed to the ground.
Lucifarge released various punches, from jabs to different hooks then uppercut. The whole scene became one-sided, in favor of Lucifarge.
And the ogre slumped down for a few seconds, losing its breath in the process. Lucifarge inhaled deeply and wiped his forehead as if he was sweating.

'What was the penalty, exactly? For a little moment, it terrified me. I thought I was going to die, but each attack boosts my stats, so it doesn't seem likely to be useful. Hooray for useless punishment.'
"I'm done!" Lucifarge exclaimed with delight. Gazing back at the white wolves, he smiled. "Are you all right?"
