The stream raged on as Lucifarge stood back, observing the boy from a distance. The child bore a resemblance to a cat's face, with some areas of its body displaying human-like features and minimal fur, particularly the hands, which closely resembled human hands.
Realizing that time was of the essence, Lucifarge sought advice from Tema on the optimal method for rescuing the child.
[The best way is to develop another skill; to be precise, a magic skill.]
Scratching his head, Lucifarge leaped off the cliff and into the river. Considering the vulnerability of cats to extreme temperatures, he decided to employ a mild cold-freezing skill, envisioning a scenario where the water beneath him would freeze without harming the child.
He directed his mana into the water from above.

Landing on the frozen water, he swiftly moved towards the child.

Dashing to the kid, he gently secured the demi-human child. In awe, the boy watched as the hobgoblin leaped from a cliff, freezing the water and walking on its surface. The mesmerizing effects of Lucifarge's mana left the child astonished.
'Who is this mister monster? I thought monsters were evil.'
Upon reaching the land, Lucifarge safely placed the child on the ground, prompting a 'ding.'
[Sudden Quest successfully completed.]
[You earned a reward.]
Lucifarge scratched his head once again and checked his status.

"Why the hell are you not updating me? Last night after our hunt, you haven't updated me. Now your reasons, huh?"
[We're in a merging state, and I am still inheriting human nature, so some notifications may not arrive.]
Lucifarge forcedly nodded with a sigh and located the kid he had just saved. Then he noticed a group of young adult cat kin demi-humans, a group of five with their guards up, alarmed when they saw the kid with a monster.
"Uni, get away from him!" one of them exclaimed.
The kid, confused, held his lips before talking. "He saved me, so he is not an evil monster," he complained as he hid behind Lucifarge's knee.
"No monster will give us any good. You monster, get away from here before we kill you!"
*Ding*
Lucifarge heard a notification about learning a new skill
He sighed, knelt one of his knees to be at the kid's height, and stroked its ear towards the back. He smiled and calmly talked to the kid.
"Now, your big brothers and sisters are worried about you. Just go and obey them."
The kid was left speechless and felt defeated to argue. He moved from the hobgoblin's side to the demi-humans' side, but the kid was still trembling, and he could feel the young adults' glaring eyes on Lucifarge.
After Lucifarge spoke, the five cat kin demi-humans were astonished at how the hobgoblin precisely spoke their language without any mispronunciation. They glared once again as they realized it was not a normal monster. No monster could speak their language, especially a hobgoblin, which is only one rank above a normal goblin.
By simply making eye contact, the young adults seemed to understand each other. They nodded and drew their weapons, pointing them at Lucifarge.
"You're a bigger threat. You need to die," exclaimed one of the demi-humans.
Lucifarge tried to talk it out, but the demi-humans truly saw him as an enemy. He was left dumbfounded as he tried to remember the reward for his quest.
'Tema, what is the reward?'
[A gratitude from the villagers.]
'Then why are they pointing their weapons at me?'
[They are indeed villagers, but they are not representatives of the villagers.]
'Shit. Can you just give me a precise explanation or something about my rewards?'
Lucifarge sighed and faced the demi-humans who were ready to fight him. One of them was holding a dagger, shining the color of silver. The demi-human raised his dagger and dashed towards Lucifarge with speed.
It was indeed fast, but Lucifarge effortlessly could see every move the demi-human made. He dodged one attack after another by the cat kin demi-human.
As the demi-human looked disgusted and left in astonishment, he hissed and screamed for help.
"This monster is using some evil tricks. Let's kill him together." The demi-human exclaimed as the remaining four approached him slowly. But Lucifarge just sighed and tried to talk once again.
"Look. Just why are you eagerly attacking me? It's not like I'm going to hurt you; I just want to explain things."
But Lucifarge was surprised once again by how the demi-humans reacted. He snorted as if he found his situation rather funny.
"He's chanting his trick once again. Obligate him!"
But in a matter of a second, a loud bark was uttered, as if trying to stop them. The demi-humans stopped as they felt a familiar presence. They slowly looked in the direction of the cliff and saw a white, glowing, divine beast.
They immediately bowed in prostrate form as they recognized the presence similar to the divine beast they believe in.
"///What are you doing to my master? How can you explain this?///" Shiro exclaimed, his voice reaching the skies and nearly deafening the demi-humans.
"///Wha-! Master? Her master is that monster?///"
"///Indeed, he's my master, the monster you are planning to kill. Just how will you explain, you lowly native dwellers?///"
