"Each of the 13 global Academies get to send 10 students to the World Academy Ranking Tournament. The Northern Empire Academy has just over a 1000 students, so we will be sending the top 1%. That means the competition to get into the World Ranking Tournament will be fiercer. I hope you're all ready!" Major Damien finished with a roar. He had been assigned to the Academy as a liaison for the Army and the Emperor's office, as General Hamish was still on a secret assignment. During the Demi-Human battles he was promoted to Major and he still wasn't used to it yet. Honestly, he didn't think he deserved it. 'I do like the increased responsibility though, and I have been fast tracked for further augmentation,' he thought.
Damien stared out at the 1000 students standing at attention in the parade grounds, their uniforms clean and their boots and buttons polished, a gathering of pure potential. He was an Academy recruit himself not that long ago.
