Shin raced after her Lily, but there was really no point. Her speed was definitely superhuman. 'What the hell happened?'
Even as Shin made it to the outer limits of the buried city, his power sputtered out and everything returned to regular time. Not that it was easy to tell the difference between regular time and modified time when there was nothing but an empty city around.
"You just kind of stumbled on the essence of our power Shin," Shinja said. "You see, when you are moving at a regular speed in an empty place, you can't tell whether your power is working or not, right? That is because our power relies on the perceptions of other people. When a tree falls in the woods does it make a sound? That is a good analogy for this power."
