While it was expected, Jason watched the news as they reported the confirmed deaths of the rognarr. Many were still unidentified or missing as crews worked around the clock in an attempt to identify the recovered corpses. Among them were a few children that were sadly stampeded by the chaos instead of the rognarr.
Poking at his breakfast without much of an appetite despite Lala's hard work at making it. Jason, while he didn't feel as bad as after his fight with Thragg, still felt it this time around. Maybe this is why heroes always rushed or tried to be faster in responding in various series. All just to save that extra person or two.
"So I hear there are a few vigilantes in the city. One in Hell's Kitchen and the other swinging around town on webs." Liz brought up a topic hopeful to change Jason's moods.
"Yeah, he is in a red and blue spandex suit with a spider on his chest. Saw him when he decided to stick on the window at the lab." Jason replied. "Nearly made him fall off too."
"Really? How does he stick to the walls and how old does he look?" Liz asked slightly curious while Lala's ears also perked up.
"Maybe around nineteen or twenty one?" Jason answered with a shrug. "For sticking to walls, well your guess is as good as mine."

After breakfast, Jason left for his Fortress of Solitude while Lala had to sort out a few more patents. A few of her recent inventions such as a more efficient car engine that doesn't run on gasoline were finally ready. It had taken her a while to convert, change and gather enough results to make it cheaper to create and easy to maintain.
Entering the giant fortress where he looked upon the suit his mother gave him. It was currently locked within a display crystal with the crest of House of El proudly shining upon the chest. While there was nothing physically stopping him from wearing it, he felt he wasn't ready. So he put it inside the display crystal for the time being.
"Oh, Master is finally going to wear it! I bet you look super handsome in it." Lilith appeared on the giant screen.
"No, I don't feel ready for it." Jason responded.
"Isn't it just clothes?" Lilith grumbled as it clearly was not the first or third time asking.
"It's more what the suit represents instead of what it is made of."
"Well currently it doesn't represent anything in this world." Lilith sarcastically replied. "So it can represent anything you want it to be."
Ignoring the jab as her words were certainly true, Jason didn't have any intention of wearing the suit. To him the suit represented more than he felt he could bear and he didn't want to feel like he was trying to live up to an impossible dream.
'While I might be kryptonian and have a version of him as my father. Yet, I don't have the heart it takes to be a Superman.' Jason thought to himself as his hand traced the crystal.
One of the reasons Jason likes Smallville is it shows that even the Man of Steel can have doubts. He didn't suddenly wake up one day or find his ancestry and decided he wants to be a hero. No he tried to run, he stumbled on his path and fell but eventually rose to the man he is supposed to be.
'While the show wasn't perfect, it did show that the path of being a hero isn't an easy one. It is a path full of hardships and I am not sure I can handle it.' Jason thought to himself.
"Master, a large robot of unknown origins is currently attacking the small town of Puente Antiguo, New Mexico. From a quick calculation, it has been determined that humanity is likely to perish should they fight it." Lilith replied. "Currently a blonde man is attempting to combat it but I estimate a few seconds until he is killed."
Slipping his glasses into his pocket, Jason burst out leaving sonic booms as he raced forward. Arriving in seconds, he watched as a blonde man who was well built be backhanded away. As he did a quick scan with x-ray, he saw the man bones were shattered.
As the robot's back was turned, Jason clenched his fist as slammed into the robot. As they destroyed the empty street, they soon left the town after bursting through a small store at the end of the street. Coming to a stop in the sandy desert, Jason looked up at the large metal creature that looked down at him.
Well, he assumed it was looking at him as the face place vanished revealing a yellowish energy.
"I don't know what you are or why you are attacking this planet, but I have to ask you either to leave or have your tin can destroyed." Jason said.
In response, a powerful beam shot him in the chest pushing him back as well burning a hole in his shirt. Ripping away the ruined shirt that couldn't even be considered rags. Jason returned the favor by burning two holes into it with his heat vision.
"So you have chosen the hard way." Jason said as a much more powerful beam knocked into him. This time it gave him a small injury that healed within seconds and sent him flying away unwilling.
Returning, Jason attempted to freeze it in place but after a few seconds the robot broke free. Frowning as he watched, he realised that even his x-ray wasn't working on it. So while he doubted it was made of lead, he decided it was one other possibility.
'Now I know why Father hates magic. Enchanted things are so annoying.' Jason thought as he was smacked into a nearby cliff.
Returning, once more, Jason began to get a few of his own attacks in. From denting it body to burning it with his heat vision. He finally ended it, when he finally busted through its core depowering it. As he wiped his blood from his lips as its strength could injure him slightly, he would recover in a matter of moments.
After burning away the less than rags and collecting his broken glasses. Jason gave the robot one last look before wondering if he should collect it or not. Thinking it might please Lala to have something interesting to work on. He picked it up and took off into the sky.

Back in the small town, Thor who recently revived alongside his comrades took off in search of the robot. Unable to discover it besides the remains of a fight and broken chunk of metal. They returned to Asgard in hopes of discovering what happened. Much to the grumbling of one Earth woman, Jane Foster.
