Chapter 3 - Trash?

Military Federation Base DZ-1530.

Several military trucks drove back and forth along the busy roads.

And from a distance, one could see different groups of people, all wearing green, marching in formation in different directions.

"Left-right, left-right, left-right!"

Some marched across the massive lawns, while others marched across the massively wide roads.

Ji Shen jumped off the green truck and took in a whiff of his new home.

That's right!

He was here to serve the Federation till the day he died, retired or defective.

On his way here, he had already learned all he could about the so-called system.

Its only purpose was to transform him into a supreme Special Soldier King.

It was awakened by his extreme love for the military and desire to feel alive.

In his past life, he spent his time envying soldiers and athletes a lot... But his main focus had always been on soldiers.

He watched many movies, documentaries and read a lot of books, both fictional and nonfictional, making him understand the true essence of what it takes to be a soldier.

Maybe because of his strong desire and belief, the system chose him in the end.

He had already arrived here when the original owner had already signed up and done several physical and medical tests.

So now, he was officially a soldier for the Aclon Federation.

As for how the military was set up here, it was very similar to that back on earth.

Ji Shen felt a fire within him when thinking that his wish of becoming a True soldier would soon be fulfilled.

It was just that looking at his stats, he couldn't help but smile bitterly;

Host: Ji Shen. Member of Zone 30, District 15.

Age: 17

Status: New Recruit (Barely passable as a Rookie)

Physique: 7.5 (ordinary people: 10)

Stamina: 8 (ordinary people: 10)

Strength: 6 (ordinary people: 10)

Speed & Agility: 8 (Ordinary people: 10)

Army Reputation: -180,000

Army Contribution:0

Skills: None.

Tasks: None.

....

Even though he was grateful for this body, he still has to admit that it was weak.

Remembering how the original one fought to get qualified and even passed out after the recruitment tests, Ji Shen could now understand why it was hard for the original owner.

Indeed. His body was weak.

~Ding.

[It is detected that the host is now within a military base. The Host has a new novice package. Does the host want to open it up now?]

Ji Shen's eyes lit up in excitement.

Eh?

Novice pack?

Speaking of his system, it was just too godly.

It was a system that allowed him to extract skills from just about anything.

He could read and extract, watch and extract, and obtain as many skills as possible.

It was just too Godly.

~Ding.

[Novice Pack: 30% Spider Response Extract and 10 Attribute Points.

The host accidentally touched a Spider on the way here and was awarded 30% Spider Response comprehension.]

Ji Shen looked at the novice pack in a daze.

He could also extract abilities from insects?

He thought it was only through reading or watching.

But now, it seems that he was wrong.

Awesome!

...

Spiders are amongst the most frightening insects with fast reflexes.

One could arguably say that they, alongside a few others like the Praying Mantis, were like ninjas in the insect world.

And now, the system has extracted 30% of their superhuman Response-ability.

Ji Shen closed his eyes for a bit, allowing the changes to occur within him.

And when he opened his eyes again, he seemed to have a broader scope to his surroundings.

No... It was easier to say that he saw things a lot slower than the rest of the world.

His spidey senses were on!

Now, he could detect anything coming his way. Even a fly couldn't get past him that easily.

Damn! What a skill!

Even with his weak body, he felt like he should be able to survive to a certain level.

As for the additional 10 attribute points he received, he decided to share them amongst his physique, stamina, strength, speed & Agility.

Now, his stats looked a bit like this;

Host: Ji Shen. Member of Zone 30, District 15.

Age: 17

Status: New Recruit (Barely passable as a Rookie)

Physique: 11.5 (ordinary people: 10)

Stamina: 9 (ordinary people: 10)

Strength: 10 (ordinary people: 10)

Speed & Agility: 9 (Ordinary people: 10)

Army Reputation: -180,000

Army Contribution:0

Skills: None.

Tasks: Spidey Senses (30% extract).

...

Well, at least everything now looked almost normal... As if he were an average person.

But of course, he knew that his 10 was the borderline for ordinary people.

Soldiers who trained a lot and even reached the position of Special Soldiers had higher benchmarks.

For now, everything looked somewhat acceptable... Except for one thing.

'System. Why do I have negative reputation points?'

[Host. That's because the system started judging you from the moment you stepped into the military transport vehicle from your home.

On the way here, everyone had a bad impression of you, leading to the current Reputation status.

As a future Special Soldier King, the host is supposed to evoke envy, awe and reverence from both foes and friends alike.

Even the host's enemies should admit that the host is mighty.

But so far, everyone looks at the host in disdain.

The points are fair and just.]

Ji Shen listened to the system and didn't know what to say.

Throughout the journey here, almost everyone avoided him as if he were a plague.

They didn't appreciate the fact that he was weak.

Only 2 people didn't seem to bother very much and had no problem becoming friends with him.

One was a bookworm called Ran Senko, while the other was a very talkative guy, Lin Chindu.

Chindu placed one of his hands over him, and another over Senko, pulling them closer together.

"Damn. I thought I would die before getting here. My legs are almost numb.

Hey! Do you think they'd allow us to take the day off? I wonder if they'll arrange a welcome party for us. I'm starving!"

Ji Shen smiled, supported Lin Chindu and looked at the Federation flag-waving ahead on the flagpole at the center of a square.

DZ-1530.

He had arrived!
