Kiora woke up to a magic chiming. Disoriented she looked around, unfamiliar with the exotic looking room filled will bookshelves, an neatly carved desk made from a brilliant red wood. Her bed smelled freshly laundered with exotic looking blankets having an almost silk like quality Kiora couldn't help but rub her hand against it as she look around the room trying to remember where she was at. Suddenly a voice rang out "Make sure you are in your classes by eight a.m. You currently have one hour before class, tardiness will not be tolerated." As the voice faded away the last nights events hit Kiora, making her forget about her surroundings entirely. Crawling back beneath the silk blankets Kiora curled up into a ball, letting the grief wash over her as she had done the night before. Memories of her family, her friends that didn't make it, Isomara, flashed through her mind as she cried for what felt like an eternity.
The magical chimes rang through her room once more, followed by the voice saying "That is the first bell, it will ring every morning five minutes before class begins. Let it serve as a warning to stop flirting and start heading to your classrooms."
"Crap five minutes!" Kiora fought her way out of her blankets as fast as she could, already running late and on the first day. Flinging herself off her bed she started falling, forgetting that she was on the top of a bunk bed, colliding with something hard before hitting the floor. Pulling herself up Kiora looked down, realizing what she had just fell onto, or rather who. Beneath her dressed in the combat uniform of the school was the only other girl who had survived the transportation and was also Kiora's roommate Hime.
Although Kiora was only 165 centimeters she still stood a full head taller than Hime leaving her to be the smallest of the class even before the summoning. Hime began to struggle beneath Kiora, unable to breath. Kiora quickly got off having felt the movement leaving a dazed Hime staring up toward the ceiling of the room, her mind full of the boobs that had just almost killed her. Kiora was torn as she looked down at her classmate, she was going to be late if she tried to help her up and apologize before she even got ready. "I have a better idea." Kiora manically said to herself stepping around the still stunned Hime, grabbing her uniform off the desk chair where she had set them the day before.
Swapping clothes faster than anyone's business, Kiora stood ready, pulling on her uniforms white gloves. "And with three minutes to spare." Kiora muttered as she rushed out the door before coming to a halt a few meters out in the hall, feeling as though she forgot something. Turning back and reentering the room she smacked herself on the forehead upon seeing Hime's body laying on the ground. "Duh, forgot the luggage." Bending over and throwing Hime over her shoulder like yesterdays dry cleaning, Kiora rushed back out the door in a panic as she headed to lobby, trying not to think about how the dead weight was slowing her down.
Bursting out of the dorms, Kiora looked across the school pavilion past the giant water fountain up toward the school doors at the base of what looked more like a castle than a school. Which technically it was since the headmaster of the school was also the king of the nation. Upon learning this Kiora wondered how he wasn't drowning in work. But having waved it off as probably something otherworldly she had other things to occupy her mind with.
Kiora opened up her status page as she struggled up the stairs, getting tired from her baggage, the time that was always at the bottom right of the page read out 7:59. Taking the last step Kiora couldn't help but thank God she had decided to do last minute training the night before eyeing the strength point that now read 5. Gaining that extra strength stat really seemed to come in handy. Never take stat points lightly, noted Kiora, as she rounded the last corning, clutching her side exhausted before halting to a stop.
A group of students that had huddled in front of the door was blocking her way into the classroom. Suddenly the boy who had spoken out arrogantly the night before came flying out of the group, landing a meter away from Kiora's feet. The crowd parted revealing hands down the most handsome guy Kiora had ever seen, electric blue hair sweeping over his glasses, his icy blue eyes glaring hotly in her direction from a face only comparable to the models she had seen on magazines. She felt her face turn red as she began to panic as he began walking toward her. Score! No I would never do that to Isomara! The guy came to a stop a few meter away from Kiora, waking her up from her daydreams, realizing he was glaring down at the boy and that he hadn't notice her.
Kiora quickly stepped to the side, more embarrassed on how she reacted than she had been in the heat of the moment her face darkening to the next shade of red. Kiora jumped as she felt something on her back start to move before hearing a voice groggily ask "where am I?" Kiora, having forgotten she was still carrying Hime, quickly set her down causing the other girls eyes to widen in surprise. Opening her mouth as though to say something, Hime was interrupted by the commotion starting back up. Hime's mouth opened wider in astonishment as she watched a boy from her class barely dodge under an arrow made of ice, scratching him above his eyebrow causing blood to start dripping down his face.
"Are you okay Geke?!" Kiora her brothers voice cry out from the crowd, unable to see him.
"Hehe are you kidding, this uptight punk couldn't hit me if I sat still. Probably too weak to handle his own cold shoulder." Geke taunted trying to cover his fear with weak bravado, already understanding he was over his head but was too stubborn to back down, his pride was on the line. "What's his next move? Take me ice skating?" Kiora could only watch, shaking her head in disappointment as ice sped across the floor, quickly covering the few meter distance between the two boys as the handsome one trapped Geke in his own taunt.
"Its time to take you out just like those other hero wannabes whom you left behind to save your own ass!" The blue haired boy smirked coldly as he began to form the ice arrow "time to put down the miserable worm with the gal to say that I, Korudo Uchigata, the prince of this kingdom was beneath him just because of a system. Know your place you talent-less dog." The boy yelled, throwing the arrow speeding right toward Geke's face. But tremors shook the ground as an earth wall erupted upward, centimeters from Geke, shattering the arrow before it could follow through with the remodel on his face.
"Now Now, you know you're supposed to keep a cool head in these situation my prince." A deep voice graveled, and Kiora watched as the blue haired boy grew pale as the sound of booming laughter made its way closer to the class. Emerging from the hall barely visible to the right of the crowd of people, walked in a colossal giant of a man wiping the tears from his eyes, still laughing at his own joke. Collecting himself the man took in his surroundings, reading the environment in a second, before stomping on the ground, causing it to shake once more, the ice boot holding Geke in place broke allowing him collapse in pain. "You're gonna need to get that checked out in the infirmary, it's down that hall" he said pointing down the hall Kiora had just walked in from, "and it should be the third door on the left. The rest of you aside from Prince Korudo can head inside and QUIETLY await my instruction.
Everyone including Kiora and Hime filed into the room, Kiora looking back at the prince one more time, surprised to see him staring down at the ground dejectedly having initially thought he was the proud type. The door closing behind her cutting off her view as the last student walked in. Kiora pushed the image from her mind as she sat down at the back of the classroom, not realizing she had been followed by Hime. It doesn't concern her, she has nothing to do with him she thought, shaking her head free of any thoughts in relation to the ice prince, focusing on preparing for her first class on this world. "Hey" a soft voice whispered in Kiora's right ear causing her to fall out of her seat her heart hammering as everyone in the classroom glanced over at her before turning back to the front of the class, afraid of getting in trouble with the giant.
Crawling back in her seat Kiora turned, looking to see who had scared the Jesus out of her, and sure enough it was Hime. Kiora groaned internally, she had never been good at making friends with girls before, only really hanging out with Isomara despite all the rumors before they officially started going out. "Hey Hime, coincidence seeing you here!" Kiora forced out an innocent laugh.
"Don't worry I'm not mad. I'm just glad you brought me with you after unceremoniously throwing yourself at me. Especially after seeing our school of rock teacher out there. Yikes."
"Yeah pretty scary stuff..." Kiora groaned internally, she was so bad at small talk. Luckily the door slammed open causing everyone to shut up and turn, as a now slightly bruised ice guy walked quietly to his desk, followed by the giant man walking to the front of the room glaring down anyone daring to make eye contact. He grabbed a piece of chalk off black board at the head of the room. Some magical place this was, Kiora thought but in the end what did she expect from medieval times.
The man dropped the chalk after writing only one word on the board, Sir. "You will call me Sir and thats all you need to know! As you probably saw I use earth magic. Magic so raw you can crush mountains with it, even at the fundamental level! As long as you got the magical strength to back it up! So that's why its used as the magical training element! In this class the board will be useless and so is this room! Outside!" Sir yelled, causing everyone to jump out of their seats surprised, confused, and terrified. Kiora smiled as she left the room, now this was the progress she was looking for.
